Absolutely loved it! We were looking for a breakfast joint that we've never tried and happened upon this lovely little place. Fresh baked muffins and biscuits that are both to die for! Corn beef and hash is one of the best we've ever had. Delicious coffee. And extremely sweet employees. Little patio on the back to sit along the water was an added bonus. Nope. Not good. Not sure what was in biscuits and gravy but I don't think it was sausage. We started to not get out of the car when we drove up and the cook was sitting out front in a dirty apron smoking a cigarette. One star is for nice waitress. Place is filthy. read more

This is sort of a hard review to write. I had read good reviews, had heard nice things about this place and wanted to really like it. I didn't. Oh, I didn't dislike it. I just didn't like it. When I walked in, it was about 10, I was the only person in the place. I took a seat at the counter, not realizing or being offered outdoor seating. The counter is very cluttered, so space is an issue when sitting there. I found my own menu, under the coffee maker. I said hello to the two people working the kitchen in front of the counter. It was a very short hello and their interest was elsewhere. I was given water and coffee as soon as I asked for it and my server (Waitress) was nice but not at all attentive or present. I had the silver dollar pancakes (3 mid size cakes), two eggs over easy and a side of bacon, 3 slices. Honestly, the food just just ok. I though the pancakes were flavorless, the eggs not cooked enough and the bacon over cooked. I figure if a breakfast place can't do pancakes and eggs, no point in going back for anything else. I see the potential here. I can understand why other could love the place. But for me, on this day, this meal, yeah, not worth a trip back. And that is a shame. read more

What a cute, refreshing operation. Everyone is incredibly friendly and the service is outstanding. I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and a bagel with cream cheese. Almost immediately the waitress noticed that I put a lot of cream cheese on my bagel and offered to get me another container before I had time to ask. The corned beef hash was outstanding and clearly was homemade. I don't usually prefer onions and peppers in my CBH but this was SO fresh that I really enjoyed it. The space is relatively small but they make the most with the space they have. I didn't get a chance to check out the outdoor seating. The homemade muffins looked amazing. They are located in the Whitney Beach plaza. This used to be a happening place on Longboat Key back in the 90's. Today it is mostly empty stores - very sad. The good news is that a great little cafe like this is now present here. The service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent too. Homemade biscuits with homemade gravy - yum! The western omelette was also very tasty. There is outside seating outside the back door overlooking the canal. It would have been nice if they had umbrellas at the tables to help shade the scorching sun. read more

Our regular Saturday-morning breakfast place, Longbeach Cafe is just perfect for breakfast or a simple lunch. Reasonably priced and awfully friendly people, they offer tasty eggs and grits, nice sandwiches with fries or whatever side dishes you like, and they'll refill your drinks too. It's nice to see folks sit out back with their dog, you can't do that in too many places, and the service is always great. Got this place from Yelp and took the others recommendations. Great and laid back place. Large menu with some unique choices. I have the Long beach Burrito with Sausage, spinach, cheese and scrambled eggs wrapped in a flour tortilla. Really nice and fresh tasting. Not to heavy either. Top it with the California hot sauce to kick it up ! You must have the corded beef hash even if you get a side of it. It is really good! Over all a sold place for anytime of day. read more

This place knows how to do breakfast!!! The coffee is amazing and smooth. I had an egg white omelette with feta, peppers and onions with a side of potatoes and bacon. The omelette had the perfect ratio of ingredients and I will dream about those potatoes for the rest of my life. My husband got the sausage and gravy biscuits and said it was fantastic.
