I brought Theresa two family pieces -- a painting by my grandmother and a complex matted piece that included some hand-drawn diagrams. She did stellar work quickly and far more affordably than I had expected -- less than $200 total. The painting is 70 years old, was painted on canvas board, and had never been previously framed. Not surprisingly, the bottom corners had gotten dinged over the years. I accepted Theresa's suggestion that she trim a narrow section (less than 1/4") off the bottom. She removed the minimum amount of material possible to get rid of the defects and it now looks perfect. The multipart piece's glass had broken, and she replaced it with UV-protective plexiglass and cleaned some glue off of the existing metal frame. I couldn't be more pleased and impressed with her quality, meticulousness, speed, and prices. She even wrapped both pieces super carefully for me to carry them to the car and transport them home. read more

Teresa provides an amazing service. For the uninitiated framer, you might wonder why you need to visit a specialist. It's just art right? Center it in the frame and go! Well, you would be wrong. There are so many aspects that go into framing a piece of art, from the color of the frame to the color of the background to the shadows cast by double matting etc. I'm sure I'm getting terms wrong here, but it doesn't matter because Teresa will lead you down the right path. We were shopping around for a framing service for a needlepoint family heirloom. The rep at the framing desk at Michael's suggested a black frame and a white backing. They claimed they could just "tack down" the needlepoint. Skeptical, we brought this info to Teresa who immediately shot it down as ugly and damaging to the artwork. She helped us pick a beautiful presentation and took her time stretching and cleaning the needlepoint. Her quote was reasonable and her service was prompt. Very highly recommended! read more

I just wanted to share my recent experience with Long Sung Tong Frames. My niece, in celebration of my 60th birthday (yikes!), created two pieces of art in the form of wrapping paper for my gifts. I was awed by her thoughtfulness and effort, and I must say they were spectacular! After the event it occurred to me that I should try and see if I could frame the two pieces. I checked out Yelp and discovered Long Sung Tong Frames. With COVID their website stated it would be better to call and make an appointment, which I did. It turned out I met and was worked with Theresa, the owner. I had some ideas walking in, but after discussing with Theresa, took her advice and changed things up quite a bit (thankfully!). Theresa really tackles each project as if it is her own. She somehow figured out how to eliminate nearly all the wrinkles in the paper, and even advised my niece as to how to go about signing the artwork! The result was fantastic! Both my niece and I are so excited with the outcome. I will now look fondly on these pieces for years to come. Theresa was a pleasure to work with. She is caring, has a point of few, and is comfortable with the client making the final decisions. Teresa helped me with a poster 35 x55. We came to an agreement on her estimate, slight discount with cash. When I came to pick up the the framed poster, two days later, I pointed out the waves on the bottom portion of the poster, She insisted they couldn't come out. Her being the professional, I took her word for it. mTwo weeks later I returned to with an oil painting 65.5 x 30.250. She complained that the job was too big. So I picked up my painting and left. Question I have is, if you are in the professional framing business, why would you be turning work down????? Teresa, My father tried to make an yelp account but it was a beet difficult so he turned to me Your interpretation is way off. If the my poster was indeed not frame able, you sure were ambitious for the job, especially after we came to an estimate agreement. You also never mentioned verbally that the waves would not be a problem. I already know my own poster is a laminate coated, but they can be mounted as you yourself demonstrated. Your interpretation of very happy is way too strong as I had no choice but to accept the work performed without conflict. That's why I mentioned the waves but you got defensive So I left it at that. As for my painting being too heavy, that again would be your interpretation. You are a professional framing shop, with all the up to date equipment to handle any job. In your shop you even have samples of work that was larger than mine. I would be the one that would have to deal with mounting "a heavy" painting. read more

I had two oil paintings that have been sitting rolled up under my bed for the last three years, i finally decided get them framed up and went on yelp to look for my different options. Went to michaels first and got a quote for $800 (for one). They had also recommended i use a glass frame. WHAT?! Then i went to long sung tong frames and met teresa. She was absolutely brilliant, a few minutes after talking to her, i knew this is where id be getting the job done. She showed me some options and suggestions and the prices were very reasonable for the great work. Turns out all you need is a good frame and craftsmanship :) Just picked up my art pieces, truly fantastic. After spending countless hours (and months) trying to figure out a way to frame a large print for my dining room without completely breaking the bank, I stumbled upon Theresa's shop. After visiting Aaron Brothers and getting quoted $850, a place in Belmont $600, a place in San Carlos $500, a place in the city $350 and then finally came along Long Sung Tong $260 for everything highest quality archival materials. It wasn't just the price that convinced me, I could tell Theresa totally knew what she was doing. Yes, it may be a little difficult to communicate at times, but she has a great eye, makes good recommendations, and is very meticulous (and my nickname is The Eagle Eye, so my vote of confidence should count for something). She spent a good hour going over options with me until we setttled on all the specifics. When I came back to pick it up, not only did she do exactly what we agreed on she even did an extra matte underneath the floating matte to really finish it off. So great! And when I got there she said don't worry about the tax, she would pay it. So sweet. I already brought another little cheapy print that I just wanted her to cut the size of the matte that I already had. She said it wouldn't look good and would just cut me a new matte and only charge me $10 for her labor AND have it ready the next day. I could've hugged her...oh wait, I did! Definitely have my new go-to for any framing I need done! Go, you will not be dissapointed. read more

This review is way overdue. I worked with Teresa in early 2013 for several huge posters to be framed to take overseas. She was really fast and her recommendation was right on. Every city should have a custom framer as talented and reasonably priced as Long Sung Tong. I took two pieces of artwork there to get framing estimates, but intending to shop around a bit. I left both with Teresa that day and less than two weeks later had two exquisitely framed items for less than I would have paid for one at most framing shops. Don't let the "Oriental Frames" part of the business name throw you. Yes, clearly she's got a clientele that collects Asian art, so you will see a lot of it on display. But that's not all she can do. My two pieces -- a colorful print by a South American artist and an inexpensive poster -- look great framed in the style (floating mattes) she recommended. What a hidden gem!! If you go looking for it (and believe me, you should) you'll probably drive right by about three times, it's totally nondescript. But inside contains the most fantastic framer. She's totally sweet and funny, gives good estimates and does fantastic work. I've already been to her three times in the last six months, and now that I've moved to the city from the peninsula, I will continue to patronize her. She took a simple poster I bought from a street vendor in London and turned it into a work of art with her multiple floating mattings.
