If I could give this amazing and talented woman 10 stars, I absolutely would! My Kandinsky picture turned out absolutely beautiful. With 35 years of experience, her talent and attention to detail truly show in every part of her work. She took the time to choose the perfect framing and made my artwork look even more special. I am beyond happy with the finished piece. It is elegant, beautifully done, and something I will treasure for years. Exceptional craftsmanship and excellent work--I highly recommend her! read more

Teresa has such an eye for what works with your "art piece", and her craftsmanship is superb! I had a tapestry and wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Teresa was so helpful and I'm so glad I went with her suggestion(s). I have received many compliments and I definitely think the framing enhanced my piece. Thank you, Teresa! (this was my second piece I've done with Teresa - definitely recommend!) read more

This is the best framing shop I've ever been to. Teresa is an artist and makes your paintings look even better than they did when you brought them in. Her care and attention to the smallest detail (mat hue, frame design, proportion, etc) is so impressive. I drive from Sacramento to bring my artwork to Teresa to frame. Her prices are stellar as well - for a custom framing shop! You will be pleased! Thank you Teresa!! read more

The owner is incredibly kind and her prices reasonable! She did repairs on 2 frames while I waited in-shop, and even declined a project when she felt her frame selection may not be suitable for my piece. I was extremely impressed by her integrity, and care for the finished product above all. I will definitely be back for future frame needs! read more

There is a reason this place has 5 starts on Yelp. Theresa (the owner) is excellent and extremely attentive to detail. She provides a high degree of service and has a great eye for framing. I visited with two pieces, one of which I had a pretty strong vision for. She shared her ideas with me and it was immediately obvious she was right - and I couldn't be happier! Highly highly highly recommended. The pricing is reasonable for the high quality as well. The only challenge is getting on the schedule. Since it is a one woman operation, she has limited availability. Be mindful of that and come with patience - you won't be disappointed. read more

I was so impressed with Theresa. She walked me through the framing process and helped me choose matting and frames for a very special custom made embroidery I ordered from Etsy. I didn't want a quick throw together frame for this very special hand made piece of artistry. I took my time and read all reviews and am so glad I chose Theresa. I couldn't be more pleased! read more

I'm so happy I went with Teresa for framing my three pieces. Two of them were silkscreen posters that had water damage, but I felt were still very much worth framing. Teresa was able to flatten out most of the wrinkles and covered up some of the damage with a precisely cut matte. She made the pieces look new again. Even though it was more than what I wanted to spend, I think I got my money's worth. read more

Theresa does an incredible job at very reasonable prices. We brought her an Indian silk painting that was crooked, folded up/wrinkled, and all around a nightmare to frame. She carefully ironed the piece, and then hand cut the margins before expertly mounting it in a beautiful frame that camouflaged the painting's unevenness perfectly. The end result is stunning and now forms a center piece our living room. She is highly dedicated to her craft, and takes sincere pride in making her customers happy. If you need something framed properly in a way that will last decades, at the best possible price, then come here. read more

I brought Theresa two family pieces -- a painting by my grandmother and a complex matted piece that included some hand-drawn diagrams. She did stellar work quickly and far more affordably than I had expected -- less than $200 total. The painting is 70 years old, was painted on canvas board, and had never been previously framed. Not surprisingly, the bottom corners had gotten dinged over the years. I accepted Theresa's suggestion that she trim a narrow section (less than 1/4") off the bottom. She removed the minimum amount of material possible to get rid of the defects and it now looks perfect. The multipart piece's glass had broken, and she replaced it with UV-protective plexiglass and cleaned some glue off of the existing metal frame. I couldn't be more pleased and impressed with her quality, meticulousness, speed, and prices. She even wrapped both pieces super carefully for me to carry them to the car and transport them home. read more

If you truly care about a particular work of art, then this charming little shop, almost hidden in plain sight, is the perfect place for your mounting and framing needs. Teresa is a joy to work with, and really knows her craft. This is no Michael's or Cheap Pete's. Teresa herself is an artist, with an expert eye, and is skilled in a lot of techniques than most patrons won't necessarily seek out. She did a wonderful job framing a spray painted print I bought from a well-known street artist. It was ready within the promised timetable and the work was done at a very fair price. I can't wait to bring more painted works here. read more

Teresa provides an amazing service. For the uninitiated framer, you might wonder why you need to visit a specialist. It's just art right? Center it in the frame and go! Well, you would be wrong. There are so many aspects that go into framing a piece of art, from the color of the frame to the color of the background to the shadows cast by double matting etc. I'm sure I'm getting terms wrong here, but it doesn't matter because Teresa will lead you down the right path. We were shopping around for a framing service for a needlepoint family heirloom. The rep at the framing desk at Michael's suggested a black frame and a white backing. They claimed they could just "tack down" the needlepoint. Skeptical, we brought this info to Teresa who immediately shot it down as ugly and damaging to the artwork. She helped us pick a beautiful presentation and took her time stretching and cleaning the needlepoint. Her quote was reasonable and her service was prompt. Very highly recommended! read more

I just wanted to share my recent experience with Long Sung Tong Frames. My niece, in celebration of my 60th birthday (yikes!), created two pieces of art in the form of wrapping paper for my gifts. I was awed by her thoughtfulness and effort, and I must say they were spectacular! After the event it occurred to me that I should try and see if I could frame the two pieces. I checked out Yelp and discovered Long Sung Tong Frames. With COVID their website stated it would be better to call and make an appointment, which I did. It turned out I met and was worked with Theresa, the owner. I had some ideas walking in, but after discussing with Theresa, took her advice and changed things up quite a bit (thankfully!). Theresa really tackles each project as if it is her own. She somehow figured out how to eliminate nearly all the wrinkles in the paper, and even advised my niece as to how to go about signing the artwork! The result was fantastic! Both my niece and I are so excited with the outcome. I will now look fondly on these pieces for years to come. Theresa was a pleasure to work with. She is caring, has a point of few, and is comfortable with the client making the final decisions. Her prices are more than fair, and I am already preparing to have her look at a more formal piece of artwork we have. Awesome! read more

Teresa has done a number of pieces for me (6 thus far). Quality is great and pricing is fair. I look forward to bringing Teresa additional work in the future. Many many thanks !!! read more

Long Sung Tong Frames - Framing Near Me - San Mateo, California

Teresa helped me with a poster 35 x55. We came to an agreement on her estimate, slight discount with cash. When I came to pick up the the framed poster, two days later, I pointed out the waves on the bottom portion of the poster, She insisted they couldn't come out. Her being the professional, I took her word for it. mTwo weeks later I returned to with an oil painting 65.5 x 30.250. She complained that the job was too big. So I picked up my painting and left. Question I have is, if you are in the professional framing business, why would you be turning work down????? Teresa, My father tried to make an yelp account but it was a beet difficult so he turned to me Your interpretation is way off. If the my poster was indeed not frame able, you sure were ambitious for the job, especially after we came to an estimate agreement. You also never mentioned verbally that the waves would not be a problem. I already know my own poster is a laminate coated, but they can be mounted as you yourself demonstrated. Your interpretation of very happy is way too strong as I had no choice but to accept the work performed without conflict. That's why I mentioned the waves but you got defensive So I left it at that. As for my painting being too heavy, that again would be your interpretation. You are a professional framing shop, with all the up to date equipment to handle any job. In your shop you even have samples of work that was larger than mine. I would be the one that would have to deal with mounting "a heavy" painting. read more

So far I've had two paintings framed by Long Sung Tong Frames and both times I've been so pleased with the outcome. Teresa is amazing and so helpful. Theresa is THE BEST. I am very picky about framing, so I don't say this lightly! Theresa is extremely knowledgeable about framing, she always has the best insight, suggestions, and the best price. Teresa did it again. This time I brought in some newspaper articles from our wedding. The paper were all folded and wrinkled, so I wasn't sure what she was able to do with it. I brought in a frame that I already have and wanted her to match it. The result, excellent again. Her framing matched my current frame, and she was able to frame 3 pieces of newspaper clippings that I wanted. It turned some junky looking newspapers into a fancy looking piece. read more

The owner was very nice and really cares about her work: 1. She spent a good 30 minutes with us determining the best frame style for our painting. 2. She also went out of her way to get pricing on a frame she didn't have any stock of, and texted me all my options. 3. She packed the finished product in my car to make sure it didn't get bumped as I drove home. Great experience and I'll be back the next time I need something framed. read more

This is the highest quality of work. I've had plenty of professional framing done and know what good work looks like. Teresa's work is excellent work not just good. On top of everything else, Teresa is very honest and reduced the price of a piece I had framed because she did not need to mount the artwork as originally planned. Mounted or unmounted it turned out perfectly. On top of that, she finished the work far in advance of when she thought she could complete it. All of my framing will go to Teresa. Outstanding. read more

Teresa did an awesome job!! I had two oil paintings that have been sitting rolled up under my bed for the last three years, i finally decided get them framed up and went on yelp to look for my different options. Went to michaels first and got a quote for $800 (for one). They had also recommended i use a glass frame. WHAT?! Then i went to long sung tong frames and met teresa. She was absolutely brilliant, a few minutes after talking to her, i knew this is where id be getting the job done. She showed me some options and suggestions and the prices were very reasonable for the great work. Turns out all you need is a good frame and craftsmanship :) Just picked up my art pieces, truly fantastic. She was able to get all the wrinkles out of my canvas, and also did some touch ups to fix some blemishes. Will definitely come again! read more

After spending countless hours (and months) trying to figure out a way to frame a large print for my dining room without completely breaking the bank, I stumbled upon Theresa's shop. After visiting Aaron Brothers and getting quoted $850, a place in Belmont $600, a place in San Carlos $500, a place in the city $350 and then finally came along Long Sung Tong $260 for everything highest quality archival materials. It wasn't just the price that convinced me, I could tell Theresa totally knew what she was doing. Yes, it may be a little difficult to communicate at times, but she has a great eye, makes good recommendations, and is very meticulous (and my nickname is The Eagle Eye, so my vote of confidence should count for something). She spent a good hour going over options with me until we setttled on all the specifics. When I came back to pick it up, not only did she do exactly what we agreed on she even did an extra matte underneath the floating matte to really finish it off. So great! And when I got there she said don't worry about the tax, she would pay it. So sweet. I already brought another little cheapy print that I just wanted her to cut the size of the matte that I already had. She said it wouldn't look good and would just cut me a new matte and only charge me $10 for her labor AND have it ready the next day. I could've hugged her...oh wait, I did! Definitely have my new go-to for any framing I need done! Go, you will not be dissapointed. read more

This review is way overdue. I worked with Teresa in early 2013 for several huge posters to be framed to take overseas. She was really fast and her recommendation was right on. The end result was beautiful, that our client also complimented the finish work. I was a bit in a hurry, but Teresa was able to finalize it in a timely manner. The price was good and she was so flexible working with my schedule as well. I highly recommend her to anyone. Oh and she has good taste too! read more

Teresa is a skillful framer with great knowledge when it comes to framing, paper handling, and conservation. I'm an artist working with a variety of western and Japanese papers; whatever work-on-paper I bring Teresa, she will frame in a contemporary fashion while protecting the artwork. Teresa is also incredibly generous and affordable when it comes to her pricing, considering her high level of craft and fast turnaround time. Stop right now if you are looking at any other place in the bay area to get your pieces framed. I have been hauling around a hand crafted tapestry for EIGHT YEARS, trying to find the right place (and the right time, budget wise) to frame it. Being new to the Bay Area, I did my due diligence in researching shops within a ~20 mile radius to see where I might get the most equitable services. Not only was Theresa's work the most cost effective, it is impressive! She took great care of my piece, and made sure to give me a product that both her and I would be proud of. She is easy to work with, good humored, kind, and is an expert in her industry. She walked me through each step of the process to ensure I was comfortable with her approach and plan. When choosing a color scheme, I think she may have been more invested than me :) She truly strives to deliver the best product, service, and experience. I highly recommend to anyone in the area. Every city should have a custom framer as talented and reasonably priced as Long Sung Tong. I took two pieces of artwork there to get framing estimates, but intending to shop around a bit. I left both with Teresa that day and less than two weeks later had two exquisitely framed items for less than I would have paid for one at most framing shops. Don't let the "Oriental Frames" part of the business name throw you. Yes, clearly she's got a clientele that collects Asian art, so you will see a lot of it on display. But that's not all she can do. My two pieces -- a colorful print by a South American artist and an inexpensive poster -- look great framed in the style (floating mattes) she recommended. High quality work, creative recommendations, reasonable prices, speedy turnaround... Long Sung Tong has everything I want in a framing shop. I'll be visiting again soon with my next project! read more

Teresa is amazing, she knows how to make every single piece of art to look even more amazing. You don't even need to explain anything to her, she is very experienced in what she does. And on top of that she is adorable and very kind. If you need a frame you need to come here! read more

Theresa did a beautiful job. She has a wide range of frames, and gave us really good guidance about what combinations would look good. She was right. The work was done faster than her estimate. The detail on the framing was excellent--the two things we got framed look very good. Also we got a very competitive price. I'll definitely come here again. It's right by Silver Lake Seafood restaurant, and there's El Camino street parking out front. -- 11/27, a quick follow-up, my mom saw the framed print (she gave us the print) and said "wow! it looks amazing!" She's not one to just say stuff, so it's a big deal. read more

What a hidden gem!! If you go looking for it (and believe me, you should) you'll probably drive right by about three times, it's totally nondescript. But inside contains the most fantastic framer. She's totally sweet and funny, gives good estimates and does fantastic work. I've already been to her three times in the last six months, and now that I've moved to the city from the peninsula, I will continue to patronize her. She took a simple poster I bought from a street vendor in London and turned it into a work of art with her multiple floating mattings. I also brought an oil painting that now looks fabulous in it's new frame. She's great at listening and making recommendations, doing everything from simple and cheap up to large and extravagant. I can't wait to pick up my latest piece from her. read more
