I moved away from Burlingame some time ago, but will still travel down to my old stomping grounds to get things done here... John is everything that I love about a small business. He's reasonable, smart, has a great variety and selection of frames to choose from in his store at all times and the prices are good to boot. If and when I can afford the luxury of getting something framed, I am pretty much going to take my business here for those reasons. Jon runs a fair and honest business on top of being a world class framer. I say world class because I've framed multiple pieces from different cities and Jon takes care of you and listens to your expectations. He is very fair and honest in his pricing and if you want an expensive option he gives you choices. If you want affordable ones he helps you there too. He is not pushy and doesn't cut corners. He's so far framed about 50+ pieces of mine and I've referred about 100+ pieces from other friends and contractors. I haven't come into any issues nor anything that Jon couldn't handle. This was our first time at Epsom, but won't be our last. They did a quick, quality job framing (and putting museum glass on) a couple of serigraphs we bought unframed (see the attached photos). Not only was the job done quickly, it was at a very reasonable price. They helped us select frames that color matched nicely to our serigraphs, and the the frames came with hanging wires already installed. They even trimmed the mats that came with the picture as they weren't originally perfect. In short, we highly recommend Epsom if you're in the Burlingame/San Mateo/Hillsborough/Millbrae area. read more

I am a print junkie. I love buying them to "put in the perfect place" but end up having huge piles of gorgeous prints but no way to hang them up. After a horrendous and overpriced experience at Aaron Bros and cringing at the prices quoted at another framer I decided to take a chance on Epsom Framing based on the reviews. I walked into this little mom and pop shop today and immediately was welcomed. The enthusiasm the owners showed at helping me select the perfect frame and matting for my prints really made me happy because I knew they were looking at frames the same way I was---to be placed in my home! The husband and wife owners made me smile because they disagreed/agreed in a charming way on frame sizes and colors that reminded me of my parents. The prices I was quoted were MORE than reasonable. Especially given that each item is being framed by a professional. For the number of items and the specific colors, sizes and UV glass I selected, I spent less than I had budgeted for. Completely different than buying an off the rack frame. Past experience showed that if they're cheap the corners don't match and usually don't even come with hanging gear. If they're nice you get hanging wire but have to hang/frame it yourself. Given the amount of frustration, time and effort it takes to frame a piece of art, Epsom really is an incredible option to choose. They have an AMAZING selection of frames and mats and I can't reiterate enough the prices are really reasonable. So please support this lovely, local friendly shop. This place is one of the great treasures on the Peninsula. I painted an abstract acrylic piece which I wanted to frame for a gift. Came across Epsom by searching Yelp since I was having lunch nearby on a Saturday. The price was so reasonable for a double mat with glass in a wood frame that I was shocked. The level of workmanship was perfect. Done by a craftsman who takes tremendous pride in his product, and made in a very short time.
