So when I was looking for a remote start for my current 'working K9 van' Long Radio was a natural place to go. Fortunately for me I recieved a top of the line remote start, LCD key fob, and the Drone mobile app subscription service system for my birthday and I went to Long Radio in West Springfield. I was delighted that Long Radio, 30 years later, once again did not disappoint!! They are efficient, knowledgeable, and willing to answer any and all questions. Truly, they are ALWAYS willing to answer questions when I call. They either know the answer already, go get a tech to speak to me directly, or they go ask and bring me an answer every single time. I never get 'we'll call you later' the sort it then and there and if I need an appt they put me in as fast as they can or they tell just to pop over and they'll take a quick look. When I needed a modification they did it on a 'pop over when you can' basis and at no charge!! They even put a safety sticker on my engine when I asked for a particular system by-pass as I have some special needs with my system because of the working dogs. They always find or try to find a way to adjust the system to what I need or clearly explain why something is happening, like the doors in the Honda lock and then unlock and then lock again during remote start up, which has to do with Honda's internal check system not with the unit we installed. If you're looking to get a system installed and want a company that's going to be around decades later and who are kind, helpful, cheerful, and go the extra mile to help you then look no farther than Long Radio. The person we often speak to is Dave and, although they're all great, he has a really solid breadth of knowledge, especially regarding Honda systems. The next time we need another remote start installed we'll go there. PS: even the Honda dealer recommended Long Radio to my best friend when she needed a remote start and they did a great job once again.

We tried that night to hook it up to the computer at an auto parts store and pull the codes, but our van turned out to be too old for their computer. The next morning, we were facing a seven hour drive to Buffalo, and we didn't want to get on the road without knowing what was wrong with our transmission. So...we were in an unfamiliar town with vehicle troubles that we needed fixed in a hurry. Usually, this is a recipe for getting price gouged, but this was not the case at Northampton Transmission. After calling around, we found these guys, and explained our situation. They told us, "we're backed up today, but bring it in and we'll get our computer hooked up and let you know what we can do." We pulled into their garage around 11. They were telling the truth about being backed up; every lift was occupied, and there were many more vehicles awaiting service in the lot. Nevertheless, they diagnosed the problem, bumped us in line (they even took another vehicle off the lift that was halfway repaired), and took care of our issue. We were back on the road by 1pm. The entire time, they were totally respectful and easygoing. When it came time to pay, I noticed that they had all their prices on the wall by the desk (flat fee for a diagnostic, hourly labor costs, etc...). I quickly checked the price they were charging against what was on the wall, and THEY DIDN'T EVEN CHARGE US EXTRA FOR THE RUSH JOB!!! How cool and honest is that?

I've never felt they were doing extra work that didn't need to be done, but instead gave me a clear outline of their recommendations and the implications of a range of options -- from doing nothing, to using parts from one of their parts cars, to doing all repairs. I've not had a problem in terms of timing -- they are usually willing to look at my car right away and if it needs more extensive repairs, I tend to leave it for the afternoon or overnight. I see a diverse range of customers there -- men, women, older, younger, folks who know nothing about cars to folks who come in with questions about their self-made repairs.

I first waited several minutes while the agent (not Jason, who is very professional), finished up with another customer, then spent some time shuffling papers. When I got the agent's attention, I started to describe my situation when the phone rang. "Let me take care of this." Ten minutes later I was still waiting. When he finally got off the phone, he asked me why I was there, all the while playing with the papers in front of him. My problem was with the air conditioner. "We don't do air conditioners anymore." I told him I wish he had told me that ten minutes earlier. "We didn't get that far." Why on earth not?? I would still go back because I believe they do good work at a fair price, but only if Jason is standing at the desk.
