Knowledgable, friendly people with wide range of choices of healthy, filler/grain-free cat food (and, I assume dog food too). Has made a big difference in our rescue kitty's initial stomach problems and coat. He loves the food! read more

this is my go to shop for my pups. They have a wonderful variety of food, toys, and other essential s for cats and dogs packed into their small space. Really friendly people. read more

**** Customer Service was good !!! Pleasant Staff supported by an on-site working owner...answering questions and guiding pet owners in nutrition and accessories for their pets. Our pups participated in the self serve wash - the area was clean, and nicely organized. The wash time recommendation time limit was too tight for us. So I ended up without the final result I'd hoped for. Our family believes in feeding our dogs real food vs factory processed kibble. And it's nice to see the same concept / paradigm promoted and encouraged here. read more

Long Leash On Life - Self Wash - Pet Stores Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

This is my favorite pet supply store in town. It's always immaculate and the employees are friendly and extremely knowledgeable and always happy to help. They are always well stocked in anything I might need or want. The selection of toys is fantastic too! This would be a great place to find a great gift for a friend or relative who loves their pets too! The selection of bowls and pet sweaters and treats is great read more

Very friendly staff and a nice reward system. Always good to shop locally but extra nice when it comes it discounts.

Rude owner! The prices here are much more expensive than other boutique pet stores in the area.

I have been taking my furbabies her for over a year. It is a great place to find supplies for your little ones. The owners and staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They are about your pets and the most holistic way. I want to remind you that this business is locally owned and operated and needs to be supported by the community and is needed. Long Leash On Life - This is a picture if my little one Vinnie. - Pet Stores Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Consistently fast, easy, no wait, well-stocked. Has what my dogs want. Pricey, but that's to be expected with the type of products.

Exceptionally kind and full of knowledge about pets. Really good vibes in the store and very friendly!

I found this place been looking for a self dog wash, and I couldn't be happier with the level of customer service and kindness the staff portrayed. I came in right at 5 PM and they close at 6 PM but they close the dog wash station at 5 PM unfortunately. Since they couldn't get me in they gave me a five dollar off coupon, and then, by the grace of God, they allowed me to wash my stinky dog. Lol. They were very considerate and helpful and gave my little guy a big treat for being such a good trooper during what he thinks is the worst time ever. I highly recommend this establishment and hope you give it a shot as well. read more

Always a treat to go into this store. Friendly helpful staff. They are happy to see you and genuinely nice. Very well stocked with healthy pet food. I would like to see bigger selection of raw .. but they will special order for you. During COVID they were very careful - which I appreciate so much. Store is clean and fun to browse. read more

Five stars for their dog washing area! You can pay of small and reasonable fee to take your dog to use their variety of shampoos and conditioners, clean towels, and air dryers. It's great for a place people who have small apartments or can't kneel next to a tub. I love taking a clean pup home without the mess at home. I will gladly bring the dog here on a regular basis until we (one day) get a nice utility tub in the garage. read more

Top of the line selection and knowledgeable staff -- Long Leash On Life has all kinds of food, treats, supplies, and toys for your four-legged pals. And their quantity discounts make the prices on a par with online options. When our favorite canned cat food seemed to have a change of recipe, the friendly folks at Long Leash On Life gave us a refund on 3 1/2 cases and suggested options that have similar consistency and flavor. Check out their website to learn more about their backstory and all they do for our community. read more

Apparently, Norm S., the owner of this establish is unaware of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Infectious Disease Specialist, and the CDC's position spread of Covid via solid surfaces. I assume that his concern is with the transmission of Covid via money. We were in our vehicle and would have complete the transaction outside our vehicle. Petsmart was able to assist us. He certainly can run his company as he wishes but we will not be patronizing Long Leash On Life. read more

I travel for work , so I often have to find new place in new cities. I try to look for local, or smaller stores to help out the community. I've tried this pet shop more than once , and still regret going ... the selection is ok .. but its more about the service. All customers should be all be treated with dignity, respect and the attention any human deserves. They should all be treated in a way that is consistent with your brand promise and the reputation you wish to be known for, with that said., I suggest if you are POC you may want to shop some where else . read more

First time here and I couldn't say enough NICE things. The staff is FRIENDLY and the self-service pet wash was WELL STOCKED and CLEAN.

Gotta dirty doggie who needs a bath? It doesn't get any easier than at Long Leash on Life! You provide the human and the dog. They provide a big tub at waist-height (so no bending over), apron, a selection of shampoos, conditioner, and towels. AND - not expensive at all! It was only $10 to give my 15-lb doggie a bath! (Plus, they're giving away free nightlights right now.) I haven't been there in a while - so glad I took my doggie in there this weekend! They have 2 big tubs, so 2 doggies can have a bath at a time. And I think they allow up to 2 humans per dog. read more

No...Nooo...Nooo!! And I patronized them for eleven years.... Now I know better!! These two are making good money--scamming! They scam when they don't even need to...... Ever noticed that you cannot see what prices are ringing up on their black computer screens? Have you checked your receipt and the prices you actually payed against the prices marked on the shelves?? I bought a case of canned food one day and then noticed I was charged twenty cents more per can than the price that was marked on the shelf. When I said something, Ken handed me a five dollar bill under the table. To date, the price discrepancy between the shelf and what they actually charge you still exists. It seems to be only on some products, but consistently on some products. No, I think I will patronize someone who does an honest business. read more

Long Leash on the Cash Register. We've shopped here since they've opened. $83 bill. Paid $100. Only $7 given as change, along with a receipt. Receipt states $83 paid, NOT $100 paid, thus no accountability for the $17 change due. Fortunately I caught it at the register (as there would be no recourse otherwise) and it was corrected. This mistake was made by Ken, an owner. Make your own conclusions. After all these years we will unfortunately be seeking another vendor for dog food. read more

I must have went on an off day or something but compared to other pet stores in Albuquerque this has been my worst experience. They skipped me on the DIY dog wash list twice so I had to wait over an hour to wash my dog. And when I did their shampoos were diluted so much I had to use over a gallon of shampoo. Their staff did not show me where the aprons were and the whole place was still dirty. Overall the pricing for the quality of the wash was way too expensive and all of their equipment seemed old and unsanitary. Will never be going back. read more

Long leash on Life is unlike any other pet supply store I've ever been to. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable on everything you can think of relating to your cat/dog. In addition to the coolest selection of toys, bowls, customizable pet head stones ( whoa!) they also have a gigantic selection of supplements for your pooch. The best/healthiest dog food brands are all right here! Support a local business and get ready to be blown away! read more

Visiting New Mexico for vacation and looked for a do it yourself dog bath. While Yelp listed 10 in Albuquerque there is actually only one I found here at Long Leash on Life. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, my nervous rescue loved her bath and the set up there is conducive to few distractions for your pet. Everything was very clean. After her bath the knowledgeable staff helped me pick out a few needed items and gave me some pointers. Overall-Excellent read more

One of my favorite small-business pet stores in ABQ. Large selection of food, treats, and goodies for cats and dogs. Self-serve dogwash available with two bays for washing and drying, priced by weight, and lots of shampoo/conditioner options. Love this shop for all things pets. Fantastic customer service every time I've been. This shop also offers a frequent shopper club so inquire when you purchase. High quality foods and treats. A huge selection of toys, beds, and pet things. They even have small stones to commemorate a lost pet which is really sweet. Additionally there is a dog wash in the back that you can use to self wash your dog. A huge benefit for those of us with labs that roll in dead things. My favorite shop for all things pets! A fantastic day is to head to the Montgomery dog park, then to run errands at Long Leash on Life, and then hop across the street to the street to the dog bakery and starbucks to unwind! read more

This place was suggested by my vet. But it was the worst experience. I have two standard poodle puppies at five months old and needed help to get them in the store to buy them harnesses. The employee said he couldn't touch or help with the dogs so a very nice customer volunteered to help me and we got the poodles in the store. Once we were in the store the same employee tried to help me get harnesses though they didn't have any in the size my dogs needed and the gentle lead collars were also out of stock so I basically left the store without anything I needed and he told me that I could get them at Petsmart, where I was headed next since I was desperate for harnesses. this establishment was suggested to help professionally fit the gentle lead collars and help instruct on usage. Didn't happen. read more

I so appreciate the staff here, they are so Lovely, passionate, and Helpful..! So many pet stores have dust and clutter, it's refreshing to see a store that takes so much pride in its organization and appearance- bottom line making it 'easier' for the customer to find what they need! I've been to 4 pet stores in ABQ, and I feel this one is by far the best in service and carefully curated selection of natural healthy (and raw) foods. Thanks for existing! read more

Our family has gone to LLOL for almost 10 years now, Norm and his partner and staff have given us great advice in feeding our 3 cats and 4 dogs. Super cute pet store! And very friendly staff! Went to just check it out and ended up buying a few cute items for my dogs and I. Today, Long Leash on Life was there to help me when another establishment turned me away. A few days ago, my dog was in the vicinity of a skunk spray. I knew I wanted to take him to a self-service wash because bathing in my tub is hard on my body. The other place had a specific policy, and since my dog Roscoe had been recently skunked, they would not allow me to use the wash. It had taken me several days to get out to do this because my work schedule never allowed me to get there when they were open. I was stunned and disappointed. It was 5:45. Since I was relatively close by, I decided to call Long Leash on Life. They normally take the last bath at 6pm during the week, and they were willing to take me in. They did not have a "no skunk" policy; they decided they would just leave the door open. Ken and Nicholas were WONDERFUL. They gave me suggestions and asked if I needed anything. I now have a great smelling dog. I don't know if they could tell how frazzled I was (I was on the brink of tears before I called them just out of frustration), but they actually gave me a discount. THAT is how you earn a customer for life. My family thanks you! read more

So nice Helpful staff I wouldn't go anywhere else Super clean Wonderful space for 4 legged friends, and their parents. Easy to find.

The owner Norm is very moody. I called with a question and left a message. I did not get a return call back. He appears helpful but doesn't value old customers. After the second try, I won't be buying anything there again. One of the woman clerks is also rude. In an over-priced store you would think customer service would be important, but maybe only on a good day. read more
