The Golden Dragon is definitely my favorite out of all the Asian cuisine in Del Rio. If only it had a better atmosphere... it's literally in a shack. Perhaps that could be part of the charm? If there was a Panda Express in Del Rio, I'd still prefer the Golden Dragon. P.S. The website linked at the top is WRONG! "Golden Dragon Tucson" really? This is Del Rio. They don't have a website.

I got the cashew chicken, the sauce was pink, tasted ok, but the chicken had a lot of fat on it and ligaments, not choice pieces. It was also very heavy on celery. The outside of the building looks real nice and is well maintained. Once you enter the friendly staff seats you in a booth or tables. The decorations are classy old school Mexican. Very nice! The menu is extensive and takes a while to get through. There is something for most everyone: meats, seafood, pastas, salads, (however no soups), appetizers, Mexican antojitos. I did not see any non-animal based protein for vegans. The service was excellent. Everything at my table was delicious. The chips and variety of salsas were irresistible. I had the enchiladas suizas and loved them. Very generous portions and with a beautiful presentation to boot! I could see some carts rolling by laden with meals for other tables and it all looked delectable. Perhaps because I was so hungry, but it really was very appetizing! There were TV screens and some background music but at a good volume so we could hear very well to hold a conversation without raising our voices. I highly recommend Tierra Bendita and look forward to going again.

Our group decided to stop in for the Seafood Buffet after whomever answered the phone had said Friday was indeed Seafood Buffet night. The restaurant was full, and seemed to be set up for the usual, however after a 10 minute wait at our booth for service, we were informed the cook had called off. This wasn't our first experience at Malinda's, the breakfast buffet on weekends, and the few other times we dined at the Seafood Buffet, pretty much solidified this place as a decent place in Del Rio. After perusing the insanely priced menu for very typical American, Mexican bar grub, we decided to leave for somewhere else. Not a big deal that we spent money elsewhere, having your business dependent on a, or the only cook reflects poorly on the establishment, and those who are in charge of the operation.
