Nice employees. Clean restroom. The food was not hot, barely warm, and it didn't taste fresh. There were no drumsticks. I waited for over a half hour, and they weren't there, so we left. Then I see them as we are leaving. Our plastic water cup had a big four inch crack in it and lots of scratches. The plates have gotten smaller too, almost dessert size. The ceiling tiles need replaced foo. They are stained and lots of black like mold on them. read more

Great buffet! Just what the hunger pains ordered. Wait staff was very attentive and service with a smile, our glasses never got empty. The ambiance was expected for a buffet, where there's cop cars there's good food. Everything was kept stocked and the buffet tables was constructed cleaned. I like variety but my hips disapproves. My coworkers and I ate here at least 3x's before we decided to venture out for other restaurants. We was really spoiled due to the fact it was in walking distance from our hotel and neither of us could agree on who would drive. Yuupers, a must try and try and try again:)) read more

My daughter and I met a friend for dinner at Sirloin Stockade on a Monday evening and while it wasn't terrible it could've been better. I haven't been to a Sirloin Stockade in over 30 years, and noticed it's changed from what used to be a sit down type establishment to a buffet style (think Golden Corral) type of place. You pay at the cashier as soon as you walk in and you will not get a refund if someone from your group is a no-show (I paid by debit card). Okay, not a huge issue but still kind of annoying. The food is what you'd find at a buffet, nothing fancy at $13.99 per person. No one in our group got steaks. The steaks are spaced farther from the main buffet stations and since we're not familiar with the layout, we completely bypassed steak. There's a little of something for everyone, salad bar, dessert station with ice cream machine, and soup station. The food we did get, fried fish, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, tasted fine. Meatloaf, roast pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy were equally tasty. There's even fried chicken, roast turkey with dressing and different vegetable options. Pizza is there too if you're looking for that. The restaurant wasn't crowded, the employees we interacted with were friendly and other diners seemed to be enjoying their food. Not bad overall, it would've been nice to maybe get a steak. I wouldn't make Sirloin Stockade a frequent stop but it's nice to have the option. read more

Visit Del Rio 3x per year I love the Salad Bar at Sirloin Stockade, and the cooked vegetables. For entre there is Lasangne, Meat Loaf, Chicken, Polish Sausage, pulled pork, a variety of Beef dishes. There is a nice desert table. For the experienced buffet person wiht a sharp eye for finding the dishes they love, this is the place. We went for Father's day breakfast buffet. Food was delicious. They were really busy but the food bins were kept full. There was a huge selection of hot and cold foods. I gave 4 stars because the ceiling vents need cleaned badly. They are greasy and yellow looking. Other than that, very good. read more

Love taking my family to dine in at Sirloin Stockade absolutely love the steaks and soups. They have a lot of varieties to choose from. And the Dinner Rolls are by far my favorite! My husband and i wanted a healthful food choice in a restaurant, and we found it at Sirloin Stockade. The salad was fresh and ice cold; ever since the restaurant Steak aNd Ale in the 60's introduced one of tthe best salad bars for a high end steakhouse, i have loved ice cold salad. Sirloin Stockade delivered. I had a huge fried chicken breast in a tasty, well-seasooned crispy crust. My husband shared his sirloin steak perFectly cooked and seasoned. The carrots were yummy, the green beans were delicious ( and not oily). We had determined not to eat bread tonight since after the holidays we are trying to eat moderately; but their rolls are some of the best iin town. Also we were too satisfied to have dessert although SS had a delectable array of desserts including ice cream. This restaurant continues to be a favorite of ours. read more

I think many people (including the diner with whom I ate) would believe that three stars is too generous for Sirloin Stockade. For me, however, there are only two primary expectations that I have when going to a buffet: the food is edible and the place is sanitary. The former criterion is taken in the literal sense - they had food and I could eat it. The latter seemed to be met from my observations, but the biggest danger of buffets - that the food is not kept at the proper temperature - went untested, as I do not carry around a meat thermometer everywhere I go. It seemed good enough. For a place with "Sirloin" in the name you'd think they would offer some steak, and indeed, there was a man working with several pieces of bottom sirloin on a grill, ready to cook one to my preferred doneness. Unfortunately, I had to visit Sirloin Stockade on a Wednesday, which is Mexican night (because I don't get enough of that cuisine in the rest of the town). The tamales were greasy, the enchiladas mushy, the broccoli waterlogged, and the fried okra was soft, but what do you expect? The main appeal of buffets is variety and quantity. It's impossible to produce high-quality food in the amounts that would be required in Sirloin Stockade, so we resign ourselves to paying the eight dollars and pretending the meal we're ingesting is anything more than bland sustenance until the next time we eat. In researching Sirloin Stockade, I see that there are several dozen franchises of the restaurant across eight states, and aside from one location in each of Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, they are all located in small towns. It seems to me that Sirloin Stockade is popular enough to warrant many franchises, but not enough to compete in a big town with other larger chains such as Golden Corral. read more

It's always a hit or miss with this restaurant. Their dessert area is a joke. It's hard to give an opinion on the food only because there are times when it's good & then there are times when it's bad. Their salad bar is pretty much the only thing you can count on. There have been countless occasions where I've received dirty utensils & grabbed dirty plates from the clean stack. It smells & looks VERY old! The customer service is pretty good. read more

Out of all the Sirloin Stockade I have eaten at this one at the end of the world here in Del Rio was the worst. Very small buffet and old tasting food. I guess big name restaurants are not all the same, not to mention, look up at all the black mold growing on ceiling tiles. Good Luck read more

While visiting Del Río over the weekend we decided to eat At a buffet. We stumbled at the Stockade and we were greeted by a very friendly hello. The food choices were good and salad bar had some good choices as well. My favorite was the desert choices. And some yellow buttery buns. Our waitress was very friendly and never had to ask for a refill she kept our drinks cold and full. She gave us her input on her favorite dishes and told us we had to try the steak. I'm so glad she recommended it. It was quite delicious. She asked us frequently if we needed anythig. (Love that) I hate when I have to ask for service. The bathroom which are hit or miss for me I found to be very clean. Big points for sure! I recommend this place if you are ever visiting Del Río. And ask for Yaritza (I hope I spelled it right) she was our waitress and was awesome! She truly took care of us! read more

The food was delicious and the service amazing. Attention to detail at the salad bar for sure. Along with the crisp and fresh salad the ribeye I ordered was perfectly cooked and served steaming hot. Loved the homie atmosphere and decor that goes with the month of October. The friendly service, selection of food and dessert will keep me coming back for more.
