This was my family's favorite spot. We visit from out of state and this place was always a must. Unfortunately today we didn't have a good experience. I understand if one or two things go wrong, but today it was just a bad visit. Only two employees working the restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes so one of them could take our order. I asked for an XL cup because I'm ridiculously in love with their sweet iced tea, turns out they didn't have any left. I got a raspberry lemonade instead to later (once I had left) realize that it had no flavor. It was literally water, plus they didn't have any straws. I ordered the mixed chicken and I only got fried chicken. My grandparents don't eat fried chicken so we had to quickly make something for them so they could have dinner with us. We were the only guests in the dining area placing an order to go, but with only two employees it was hard to work the drive thru too. The restaurant was very filthy today. These morons cannot even put a damn order together. We ordered a 2 piece dark with mash potato's and mac...and a four piece tenders with Mac. We got a legs and a breast, no Mac on one oder and five tenders with Mac and gravy instead of the honey mustard we ordered. Was super hungry, went through drive thru, get home with my meal, no napkin, no fork, no big deal...but when they tried to serve we white colored water for gravy- HUGE PROBLEM!!! I drove back to return the entire meal and all the manager could say was, "I'm sorry ma'am, it's just that we're running out of gravy..." then you DON'T F*CKING SELL IT!!!! I WILL NOT be offering my patronage to this business at all!!! Too bad most of this community has become accustomed to the poor customer service that surrounds the area. My dad and I couldn't shake off a craving for fried catfish so we made a stop into the Chick. Fried catfish, french fries, and fried okra, is deliciousness in a box! I tend to avoid fast food because it's always left me unimpressed, if not for the catfish I'd never order from here. I was told about Golden Chick and their offerings a few years ago, so my tried and true go to hasn't changed, thankfully! The space is older and definitely has a hole in the wall vibe to it. The menu is deep fried everything, chicken, fries, catfish, gizzards, and Southern sides of green beans, dirty rice, and yeast rolls. Don't turn your nose at the less than spotless greasy spot. Be patient for the wait to get your food, and make sure to be ready to repeat yourself asking for condiments. Service is very crawl pace, and scattered, with more bodies than might be needed in such a small space. Friendly, yes, just not anything special. Go for the food in all it's glorious fried goodness. read more

When they opened after renovations food was great although the lines were long even though they supposedly have 3 lanes, set up doesn't work. Then Sunday we picked up gizzards and oh my gosh they were super dry and the breading kept falling apart they seemed old......we ended up giving our dogs the $16 meal that they were even having problems chewing.
