This restaurant definitely caught me off guard and I'm glad it did. Just by the name alone I assumed it was Asian inspired food. However, the breakfast is spectacular. I can honestly recommend anything on it. The food here is so flavorful and delicious. Furthermore, the staff is very friendly and made my boyfriend and I feel very welcome. This is a must try place. read more

Long Grain Cafe - Red Curry with chicken - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Florence, South Carolina

Party of 4, Stopped for breakfast on road trip leaving Hilton Head. Overall it was okay, the menu choices were plenty and the eggs benedict w/ avocado, ham and bacon was a big hit as well as the meat omelette. The corn beef hash was fresh but the scrambled eggs were a little under cooked and the French toast and grits were just okay, the grits had some flavoring that didn't set well with me. Our server was very attentive. Minuses were the bathrooms that needed to be cleaned and overhauled and then the place itself is dated. It's about 6.5 miles off i95 & it takes about 13 minutes to get to, seems to be a local breakfast spot for sure. read more

First off, nothing really Asian Fusion about the place at all. Maybe the coin pool in the dining no room? Came for a Sunday morning breakfast. Place was being renovated up front, so had to use side entrance. Was a bit skeptical, older decor, but the place was over 1/2 full with family's and couples so I sat down. Coffee was quick to the table, I ordered a Classic Benedict with country potatoes. Order was out in 15 minutes - Food was great. Service was good. Comparable to the small dinners on the north east coast. Will be returning. read more

I just finished my shrimp and grits. Hands down, the best I have ever eaten. I eaten this all over the South, Charleston included.

Ventured into the dining room at prime after church hour on a Sunday. The dining room is seat yourself and first come first serve. In a post COVID world patrons were patient and spaced out. There was ample tables open and servers were hustling. After we were seated we did not feel rushed at all. Our server was so knowledgeable and excited to tell us her favourites. I can tell you she wasn't kidding Jane she said the pancakes fall off the plate. The were huge clouds of joy! Teriyaki Steak and eggs was a new pleasure. Can't wait to go back. read more

Cold unbuttered toast and plastic individual serving packages of artificial butter spread. That's the one thing that stops me from giving this place 5 stars. Hot toast and real butter served with your eggs is a must have. I've been here a few times now and it's always bone cold dry toast. This last time my toast was served in a bowl! Other than that they have great omelettes and they give you a choice of potatoes and one of those choices is what we call home fries up north. At long grain it's called red potatoes. Regardless of what they are called they are cooked perfectly. I just wish this place would use real butter and serve the toast hot and slathered with butter. read more

This is May favorite restaurant in Florence and it is the best to me! Every morning I get breakfast here every morning! You should try them ! read more

During lunch they have regular mom and pop diner fare... but then also a Chinese menu? Much to my surprise, their Chinese offerings are genuinely delicious, fresh, and not loaded with MSG. For around $8 you get a generous serving of stir fry with rice and a mini loempia. I've been back several times and the food and service have never failed me. Definitely don't rule out Long Grain for a quick and satisfying breakfast or lunch. read more

Good portions and very affordable. The food hits the spot. We plan to return, but ask management add more servers than runners for the weekend. Believe our server name was Maya and she handled well for having many tables. read more

Good food at great prices. Always busy. Waitresses are good. Most meals Come with tea or coffee.

I love this place! The staff is always friendly and very welcoming. Every time I eat here, I always leave happy. The portions are large and very worth the price. I have had their breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed. The southern and Asian dishes are delicious. I would highly recommend this place because if you are looking for a tasty and hearty meal this is the place for you! read more

I love the shrimp and grits and wings with French toast. Don't forget the croissant and sweet tea with lemon!

Food was horrible (pork chops) paid $9 for some very thin chops and no seasoning, when I asked for steak sauce I was given attitude and told they don't serve that crap here "word for word" very very poor service, no energy no sense of urgency, money I spent I would've rather gone to McDonald's, hopefully ownership sees this review and takes it to heart as I was told this place was special and I brought a friend from out of town and it was a wasted trip. I had to give one star in order to post but I wouldn't give it any after my visit read more

You always get more than your fill at Long Grain. Huge portions are their thing. You will love this dish. I have been coming here for years. You will enjoy your meal either lunch or breakfast. Tell them Bryan sent you. read more

Long Grain Cafe - Absolutely a fan of this dish. Smothered red potatoes for breakfast. Try this. I promise you will love the taste. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Florence, South Carolina

Worst chicken and waffles I ever had. Seems impossible to screw up but they did it. Probably some real chicken with meat on it would be good but they give worst wings than the ones from Chinese restaurants that come free with rice read more

Wow! The best omlet I've ever had! Chicken broccoli and mushroom. The bisquits were delish !! And the grits creamy and buttery. I love Florence food! read more

Breakfast was breakfast. The coffee i would skip. Its black. Like Mud black. But in an area with very little Options... do what you gotta do... the breakfast was similar to ihop nothing to call home over. No asian fusion in the breakfast side. read more

Stopped for breakfast on our way South on I95. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was very flavorful, husband had a traditional breakfast of eggs & a field of potatoes! Glad we stopped! read more

This food is delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits. My ordered the same. I can say it's not often that you get an order of grits that you don't need to add salt or pepper to. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The staff were friendly and so helpful. I will definitely dine here again read more

Great neighborhood spot. Good home cooking, happy and accommodating wait staff. Don't miss the wings, they are fantastic!

Long Grain is a quaint place that offers a variety of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I usually order the vegetable skillet with eggs and their grilled potatoes. The whole meal is very tasty. I also order a grilled biscuit which is delicious too! It's my favorite breakfast spot in Florence. read more

We ventured a bit off I95 looking for breakfast at something other than a chain restaurant. Long Grain was a good choice. It looked like we were the only "outsiders" in the place. Everyone else seemed to be a local. The food came quickly and was delicious. We made the right choice. The only negative was all the hard interior surfaces made it quite noisy from all the conversations. But, that's a very small nit to pick. Try it, you'll like it. read more

Passed by on a road trip and this place was awesome!! Good service great food and reasonable prices. I just put together 3 sides to make a vegetarian meal and there was SO MUCH FOOD!! And it was all awesome! Definitely would recommend! read more

We had breakfast this morning, and it looks like this is a breakfast only place.... no Asian food here. I had the Country Benny... a biscuit with sausage, eggs, cheese, & gravy, along with hash browns. Husband has pork chops and said they were the best he has ever had. 2 minor complaints: Hash browns were no where near crispy enough. We should have asked for crispy and they would have probably been just fine. The wait for our food seemed long... we were there over an hour in total just for breakfast. We know for next time. Still pretty good and affordable! read more

Truly one of my favorite places for breakfast!! The food is the real star of this show. If you're looking to start the day impressed, go here. They should offer a money back guarantee. They would never give a dime back!! read more

My wife and I ate breakfast on a Saturday morning. We ordered off the menu. Eggs had runny whites. The bacon was undercooked. My french toast was cold. Coffee was not good. The poor waitress was slammed but did her best. Will not be returning. read more

Fantastic food... and honestly, the very best service I have had in a long time, to boot. I rode the chicken and shrimp bowl, extra Spivey and it was great! Lots of shrimp an chicken and perfectly seasoned. I will be back, definitely! read more

The only problem with the Long Grain Cafe is that they are located in Florence, SC, a full 2 hours away from my home. Woe is me. I paired their waffles with the chicken tenders for the absolute BEST chicken & waffles I've ever had! And I'm a chicken and waffles connoisseur. I even had the nerve to ask my the waitress if they made their own waffles or if they served frozen waffles! LOL! Of course, they make their own to order. They offer S&D tea for hot tea. I love hot tea but was managing my expectations. Glad to report that I was pleasantly surprised with the S&D tea, so much so that I had a second pot of tea. This review would not be complete without mentioning my fabulous waitress. KAREN was delightful in every way. She was attentive without hovering, conversational without being overly so and responded to my every request with kind and quick attention (even the frozen waffle question, bless her). I hereby nominate KAREN to the SERVERS' HALL OF FAME! read more

This place is so good order came out fast and they serve you alot of food will be my new place to eat breakfast

The food here is consistently delicious. My fav is the chicken and shrimp Long Grain Bowl! Lots of veggies and perfectly seasoned deliciousness!! Today I ordered a side of collards and my husband ordered a side of cabbage with his food. They're both just as good. I'm going to do my best to try something different the next time I come here. And this is my first time eating collard greens with chopsticks!! read more

Had to change my rating from 5 stars to 1. Apparently if you come at 11:40am you can't get breakfast. The old lady waitress explained breakfast is stopped being served at 11:30. Ten minutes really? Kind of odd watching everyone around you be served breakfast and your waiting for lunch when you really wanted breakfast. The chicken bowl had no flavor along with the rice. The rice was hard to swallow. However the mushrooms were delicious. Much better breakfast place. read more

Wish I would have taken a picture! The food was great! Butch had the Curry Chicken Skillet and I had the Spanish Omelet. The Curry Chicken had peppers and onions that were cooked perfectly. The Spanish Omelet was served with Veracruz Sauce that should be bottled so I could take it home!!!! Definitely a do over place. read more

I've visited this eatery weekly for three years. I almost always get one of the skillets with red potatoes, but my newest favorite is the bacon and onion skillet with red potatoes and adding broccoli. It comes with eggs to order, coffee and a side of fresh fruit plus toast. Such a deal at $8 plus tip. I've eaten smothered hash browns, too; it's a really wicked concoction of potatoes, three meats, topped with cheese and gravy!! All breakfasts come with coffee or tea included. Most of the servers and I know each other by name. I've never had a bad meal at this cafe, never! read more
