So I dropped off my suit the same day except that they told me it would take five (5) days before it would be ready. I reminded them they had told me on the phone that it would take two (2) days and they agreed to have it ready by Friday. The advertised price on their board was $12.99 to dryclean a suit. Nothing was said about any deviation from their pricing. So far, so good. When I returned on Friday to pick it up, the lady wanted to charge me $23 claiming that there was a $10 surcharge for expedited drycleaning. She claimed that she had told me on Wednesday about the surcharge which is not accurate. Then she tried to say that I had brought the suit in the previous day and that it was $10 to get it done the next day. I reminded her that I had brought it in two (2) days before and her story changed, saying that to get something drycleaned in two days was expedited service, despite what they had told me over the phone about their standard turn-around time before I visited the store. She lowered the surcharge to $7 which is still unfair because they had told me on the phone that their standard turn-around time was two (2) days and they never told me about any surcharge for meeting that standard turn-around which time they had given me over the phone. The lady tried to tell me that she was entitled to extra money because it was hot or some nonsense. Not sure why that would be a justification for charging more than the price advertised on their board above the counter. It was clear to me that the lady felt entitled to charge me extra and I concluded that I had no choice but to pay the extra money to get my suit back. (What choice did I have, it was going to be my word against hers.) Stay away from these people!!!

But she then proceeded to charge me an additional $6 just for running over my vest with a lint roller before cleaning it? The vest itself was only $9 to be cleaned. Which means I paid almost double just because there was a little cat hair on it. I don't see myself going back. There are plenty of other cleaners in the area.

I use them for my business shirts and suit dry clean and press. I am quite pleased with their handwork. The only displeasure I have is that I have to replace a button every now and then. I think that as my older shirts are processed the plastic buttons begin to develop cracks and over time crack apart. I view this a consequence of wear out and not Capitol Clearners fault. All and all Capitol Cleaners do a fine job and I am happy with their service.

I believe the dry cleaning was done properly but suspect that the fabric contained some fibers that were not polyester and should not have been dry cleaned. I spoke with the owner, Angie, and she agreed with my assessment. She refunded my cleaning costs and a significant portion of the cost of new draperies. I believe she handled the situation fairly. I will definitely use this company again.
