These guys had the deck I was looking for... and we arent talking some regular run of the mill deck. Patience paid off, the deck arrived. Sure, the ETA was a little overstated, but in a world where instant gratification is the norm, sometimes being patient and trusting in the universe is just good for the soul. Definitely recommend this place. read more

We brought my kids here for my son's 7th birthday to get him a new board. After a quick Google search we had an idea on what we would expect to spend, but we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was. There were a lot of options for decks to pick from and we ended up choosing two instead of the one we went in to buy. Ethan went above and beyond making this day special for our boy. It's his first custom board and my husband and I didn't really know what we are doing so we wanted to find a trustworthy local shop where someone more knowledgeable about boards could make recommendations for our son. Ethan absolutely knew his stuff. He helped our birthday boy get the best board for him, and we were able to reuse our wheels and bearings and save some money. He really worked hard at the old board we brought in as well. We appreciate his time and effort. Ethan even let our son be a part of the process, showing him how to smooth the edges of the grip tape and change out the trucks and wheels. Our son tried his new board as soon as we got home and it rode smoothly. It was a great experience. read more

They had an Erick Winkowski Primeval deck listed at a sale price of $69, I checked out and received the invoice via email. And the price was the regular price. I reached out and explained and I only received very unhelpful and condescending emails stating they have no knowledge of the board being on sale. Go to NHS for all your skateboard needs. Always a helpful experience. read more

So sucks to leave a bad review on a local business but here we go. Also to note this has nothing to do with inventory, prices or location, as I cannot base this review on that criteria. This is being based upon the communication, or lack thereof. So about 3 weeks back I receive an email from the shop about an sb release of the Nardwaur dunks. which I was going to try my best online and if not grab on the secondary market. Knowing I could get them local was a dope idea, so as soon as I got the email, I rang them up just asking the basics, "will there be a raffle, will there be a lineup, etc" the guy on the phone, while nice enough said he didn't know yet and check instagram for updates. I don't have an ig and asked if I called back the week of the release will there be any info? He said should be and I said ok I'll ring back then. Flash forward to the week of, I call on the Monday of that week during business hours, went to their answering message, left a detailed message and was waiting for a call back. Next day go on their website and use their chat/messaging feature that said they would message me back. Here we are today no message or call back. Just wanted to support local, but I can't if I don't know how to go about purchasing something that I know won't sit on the shelf's for long. I know they won't be out the money, but just sucks in general. read more

Great selection and prices. Customer service A+. No funny business here. I will definitely buy again read more

I came in here to have them look at an old skateboard that wasn't turning well. A guy gave it a thorough inspection and worked on it for a little bit. I could see he was running into some issues, but he did not stop or give up. In the end, he fixed my board and didn't even charge me. I will make an appoint to come back to purchase something. Solid customer service. read more

they have good prices, but they just cancelled my order for a penny board because they didn't have their inventory correct(no apology discount code or substitution offer), ruined my day now my only option is to buy it from Canada for $50 more or just not get it at all read more

Great shop. They went above and beyond to make my daughter's Hello Kitty grip tape look amazing.

Great place for new and old Skaters. Very friendly, ready to help. As someone who hasn't skated in years I'm always a bit hesitant to ask questions or recommendations but staff here is very cool about it. For a Skate shop, these guys are not afraid to have great sales and deals on boards! This is what keeps me coming back. I live a bit far away but been ordering stuff online and pick up in store. read more

Every time I come in here, the people are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. This reminds me of the skate shops back in my youth when it was run by passionate people from the community. This is a skater's skate shop and is now my favorite shop. Go. Buy a deck. Support real community skaters. read more

Super nice staff and very helpful! Got my son's first skateboard set up here and they were so wonderful. Thank you!

Terrible customer service. Do better! You should be more accommodating with returns/exchanges.

Ordered New Balances online and was ignored when I asked for a return/exchange. I finally received a response two days later and was told in one sentence that they don't do returns on sale items yet the total for my shoes was over $90 with tax which is what you would pay for a normal pair of skate shoes. Thanks a lot! read more

I've spent probably over $2k here on boards and clothes for myself and my kids. Bought a shirt online recently. There was nowhere in the description of the shirt that I couldn't return it if there's a problem, I am 100% positive of that. The shirt was too big so I ordered the correct size, once again, noting that nowhere in the description did it say that there were no returns or exchanges, as i pay attention to these things. But that's the case. Now i have 2 of the same shirt for no reason. Don't appreciate that... figured the whole point of supporting the local shop is to avoid non-personal responses like that. It only mentioned that in the additional info section on the website. I believe it would be appropriate to at the very least give store credit. read more

The employees were super helpful and helped me get my first board!! It was a bit awkward but it worked out fine! and the cost of the board was fair as well! read more

Hey I bought a board from you guys last week for my kid. It wasn't rolling right so I purchased some speed cream thinking it might just need to be cleaned. Come to find out that the bearings was actually damaged. Can you guys swap the 1 bearing out I would appreciate it since I'm sure it was like that before we purchased it. I've tried calling and messaging you guys about this on your website and IG but I don't want to make the trip if you're not going to swap the damaged bearing. read more

Haven't skated in at least a dozen years, but wanted something to get me off my butt after our lockdowns. Everyone in the shop was super friendly and unpretentious. The guy that helped me completely understood what I was looking for and provided his recommendations. Left with an assembled complete on a shop deck, and couldn't be happier. My son is a new skateboarder and went here to buy his board and they were awesome! They walked him through every step and explained what components would adapt to his skill level the best! They also walked him through the different brands- they carry various brands and many local ones. He got a pro complete skate package, they put it all together for him and even gave him a skate tool! Super thrilled with this local business- plan on going back for sure! read more

I've been a customer here for 4 years. Bought a lot since then but the last 3 times I've visited it's been very cold shoulder. I just called at 6:38 pm Saturday 9/10/2022 about hardware. I left and arrived at 6:55 pm and they were shutting their doors. It's just not professional in my opinion to close before it's closing time according to the store hours I saw on Apple Maps. I lower my star rating based on the last 3 interactions. read more

I don't skate or go to skate shops as much as I did in my teenage years but I can still shred every once in a while. Every time I've gone in to set up a board or pick up an online order everyone at lb skate is great. Even if you don't skate it's a perfect place to get some clothes or shoes. My point is just go there. read more

It had been soo long since I had owned a board or let alone skateboarded, but I didn't have to worry since the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thirty minutes later, I walked out with board and I didn't feel ripped off with the complete that was curated to my liking. I would recommend and I will be back. read more

10/10 this is prob the best skate shops in so cal. I live in San Diego county and I order from their website because they have more products than my local shop and way better sales/prices. My biggest compliment is how FAST they get your order out the door! I will keep getting goods from this shop online and when I'm passing through the LBC I'll drop by & keep supporting this shop 100% read more

First time skateboard purchase for my 5 yr old, and Tim was great! He assessed my baby's needs and was so patient with us--I learned so much. He even ordered a smaller deck (enjoy 7x28) for her size. She absolutely loves it and he even referred us to skatedogs, who can help with the basics... The whole time, I never felt pressured into buying anything. When I picked up the board, Mikey helped us out!!! Great people and not intimidating for some newbie! Thank you and I will def come back for all our little skaters needs! Ps: used 20% off coupon and saved so much $$$ best price, compared to Internet prices and got here so fast and didn't pay shipping fees! read more

Staff was nice, helpful and attentive! Very chill vibe inside, don't be afraid to come get anything for a board or a new board here! We came here three different times, one for my friend who wanted to build new board and they helped him with all the options they have and putting it together. Another time was for me buying a complete board and today to change my wheels, add risers and change bearings! Each time everyone was very helpful and friendly, and never made us feel out of place for asking simple questions. Great experience. Thank you again! :) read more

I don't know if this place is good or not. We came at 11am when they are supposed to be open and doesn't even look like anyone is here to set up. So, we will buy a skateboard somewhere else! That's poor form if you ask me. Even the OPEN sign is lit up so that's why we stopped when we drove by to check. Oh well! UPDATE: thanks for the response. It was about 20 minutes we waited for the doors to open! It was just too much time for my 6 year old to wait to buy his first board... so, I'm all for a family business, but I'm a business owner myself, and I know that hours should be consistent and reliable or else I lose business. read more
