So sucks to leave a bad review on a local business but here we go. Also to note this has nothing to do with inventory, prices or location, as I cannot base this review on that criteria. This is being based upon the communication, or lack thereof. So about 3 weeks back I receive an email from the shop about an sb release of the Nardwaur dunks. which I was going to try my best online and if not grab on the secondary market. Knowing I could get them local was a dope idea, so as soon as I got the email, I rang them up just asking the basics, "will there be a raffle, will there be a lineup, etc" the guy on the phone, while nice enough said he didn't know yet and check instagram for updates. I don't have an ig and asked if I called back the week of the release will there be any info? He said should be and I said ok I'll ring back then. Flash forward to the week of, I call on the Monday of that week during business hours, went to their answering message, left a detailed message and was waiting for a call back. Next day go on their website and use their chat/messaging feature that said they would message me back. Here we are today no message or call back. Just wanted to support local, but I can't if I don't know how to go about purchasing something that I know won't sit on the shelf's for long. I know they won't be out the money, but just sucks in general. read more

I came in here to have them look at an old skateboard that wasn't turning well. A guy gave it a thorough inspection and worked on it for a little bit. I could see he was running into some issues, but he did not stop or give up. In the end, he fixed my board and didn't even charge me. I will make an appoint to come back to purchase something. We brought my kids here for my son's 7th birthday to get him a new board. After a quick Google search we had an idea on what we would expect to spend, but we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was. There were a lot of options for decks to pick from and we ended up choosing two instead of the one we went in to buy. Ethan went above and beyond making this day special for our boy. It's his first custom board and my husband and I didn't really know what we are doing so we wanted to find a trustworthy local shop where someone more knowledgeable about boards could make recommendations for our son. Ethan absolutely knew his stuff. He helped our birthday boy get the best board for him, and we were able to reuse our wheels and bearings and save some money. He really worked hard at the old board we brought in as well. We appreciate his time and effort. Ethan even let our son be a part of the process, showing him how to smooth the edges of the grip tape and change out the trucks and wheels. Ordered New Balances online and was ignored when I asked for a return/exchange. I finally received a response two days later and was told in one sentence that they don't do returns on sale items yet the total for my shoes was over $90 with tax which is what you would pay for a normal pair of skate shoes. I've spent probably over $2k here on boards and clothes for myself and my kids. Bought a shirt online recently. There was nowhere in the description of the shirt that I couldn't return it if there's a problem, I am 100% positive of that. The shirt was too big so I ordered the correct size, once again, noting that nowhere in the description did it say that there were no returns or exchanges, as i pay attention to these things. But that's the case. Now i have 2 of the same shirt for no reason. Don't appreciate that... figured the whole point of supporting the local shop is to avoid non-personal responses like that. It only mentioned that in the additional info section on the website. I believe it would be appropriate to at the very least give store credit. read more

Hey I bought a board from you guys last week for my kid. It wasn't rolling right so I purchased some speed cream thinking it might just need to be cleaned. I've been a customer here for 4 years. Bought a lot since then but the last 3 times I've visited it's been very cold shoulder. I just called at 6:38 pm Saturday 9/10/2022 about hardware. A friend pointed us to Long Beach Skate and now I know why. My 9-year-old and I both want to learn how to skate. I was a little intimidated by the whole thing, frankly, because I know absolutely nothing about boards and I'm an old fart. Mason and crew at Long Beach Skate were awesome. Really patient and informative. And the boards were way less expensive than I thought they would be. We walked out with two new boards that were perfect for us. Big fat wheels on mine so I don't break my ass and moderate wheels on his so when he inevitably starts jumping up on stuff he has the right wheels but won't kill himself while he learns.
