What a cool skate shop located in Retro Row. Found it while walking around the area and checking out the stores we don't normally see when driving by. Lots of clothing and shoes for your people who love to skate. I found a couple of cool limited edition Vans that I have my eye on. Prices were a bit high so decided to wait on it. There is a great selection of skateboards and all the accessories you need. The guy working in t he store was pretty cool and chill and offered his assistance. Becuase we were just "window shopping", we didn't make any purchases but I found some pretty cool items that my son would love so I will be back to purchase some birthday gifts for him. Although it wasn't the smaller size I wanted, they did have a good selection of boards for girls and she left happy. All I'm going to to say is this was the 1st an last time back in over 10yrs. And I was overcharge on a Christmas gift for my brother. Retail was $135. I paid $150+ tax. When did skate shops start selling items over Retail? This was once one of the elite skate shops in Long Beach. But times have definitely changed. read more

My girlfriend and I went here once sometime in 2022 to check out what they had in the shop but as soon as we entered the store, none of the guys working even acknoweldged our presence. I was browsing and checking out some of the graphic t-shirts and snapback and trucker hats and still no one offered or asked if we needed help. Initially I thought we were being ignored because we're both women, but if other people including men are experiencing the same bad or non-existant customer service from this place, then that says a lot to me. This one star review is for their non-existant customer service we experienced. The products they sell are cool and they offer a lot of variety as far as skate(board) goods go though. Just don't expect any greetings or offers of help when you enter. read more

I bought this #hookup at east 4th I rode it one time at the beach very mildly , the whole first layer appeared to be torn off , before I even put 1 scratch on the board , when I called the store to ask about the board some kid answered rudely saying they don't sell these board and it was a one time selection as a mom and pop shop I was glad to help and support , after voicing my concerns today about the boards or type of board they are selling dude just said they sold me a defective board and didn't know what to tell me from there Iv been skating for years and never had a poor board of any kind break down like this on the first ride , boards are board , but people are people and deserve respect after spending hard work money on something the customers service just hung up on me but unlike people we change and grow just like my money that will never go back into a shop like this ,keep in mind this isn't the first time I had a bad experience I often go to skate shops to look at apparel I went in one time looking to buy some t-shirts and as soon as I walked in I guess some new SB had dropped that day and the associated greeted me with a don't even ask about the shoes remark and made me feel uncomfortable to even look around ,it's really not about the board it's how you treat customers I'll be happy to never go here again buyers beware and proceed with caution read more

Avoid this place and go to Long Beach skate shop. Literally every time I walk in your presence is not even acknowledged just a couple of Stoner dudes on their phones. Just left there and I am pretty sure that the owner himself looked right at me and didn't even say hello. How your doors are still open with such nonexistent customer service is beyond me. Cute skateboard shop on 4th street. Nice shoes. Funky style. Pricing isn't too bad either. My brother would like this store I think. Cute clothes as well. I have no idea about the skateboard side, but the store itself, the shoes, and the clothes I liked. The guy who was working (might be the owner?) was hella chill. I am 65 from NY and now Minneapolis and I studied YELP searching for the BEST skate board shop in Long Beach to buy extra wonderful gifts for my OUTSTANDING mover " Mikey"-- who has helped saved me for the last 3 years!! (Long Beach hills streets proximity to the beautiful ocean the famous shipping piers-- perfect skate boarding) What a beautiful shop. How carefully the owner has been selecting FABulous Tshirts with incredible graphics-- fresh. New, important new tiny quality manufacturers. Wow. My young salesman was perfect. He loved hearing about my " Mikey". And we had great great fun going through the entire store. I found great ball bearings ( he LOVED them, needed new ones ), bought a Seinfeld in vogue Tshirt ( loves Seinfeld). A super cap fr a new mfg, a great huge beautiful Owl on black fabric. Wow . And 15+ stickers great colors designs all sizes. ( he went ballistic. Loves stickers) Then this GREAT salesman took wonderful photos of their beautiful Boards. Sent them to Mikey as well. Still waiting for him to pick one Yes... When you find as golden a 21-year-old gentleman as Mike, who has always been there for us as we worked for 3 years on the house getting it ready to sell packing moving etc, you want to blow their mind w excitement , give them a surprise gift they will go crazy over and use doing the one thing they love most! Came in for some skate bearings. The dude working was helpful and answered questions. He asked if I was interested in a board and I just may be back to look at their selection again. The workers here are really rude and not helpful at all. I was the only person in the store (not surprised since the boys that work here don't care about their job) and the one guy that was there didn't want to help me find a pair of shoes, and when I asked for a price for some shoes he was like "there isn't a price tag on them" no that's what why I'm asking you what's the price. Yessss! East 4th Skate from Long Beach!!! I say You Rocks!!!!!!!!!! I am a down to earth Georgian redneck who was traveling to see my relatives in Los Angeles area. I an my wife we were looking for souvenir and my instinct was pushing me to this shop. When I and my wife we walked in we was greeted like a King and Quin they would roll out the red carpet for us if they would have one. The store very clean and organized with wide variety of goods. The staff very knowledgeable and friendly. We were served by Daniel Zumer and Nick Murphy. This two guys were competing between them who is better! If you're looking to get some nice kicks and a new skateboard then East 4th is the way to go... I liked their selection of kicks, even though the selection was limited, the ones that they did offer were sweet (Mainly hip hop inspired with a twist of some Pharell in there) I would go back and buy some kicks if I were ever around the area again. They also sell apparel and other accessories but mainly skateboards and skateboard equipment and of course the shoes. read more

So I walked into East 4th Skate Shop thinking that it would be this super cool, lowkey skate shop with the hippest fashion and sneakers. Ok so that part was proven right, but the part I could not STAND was the fact that the people that work there are all complete asses. They give you dirty looks, if you need a size in a shoe they first ask you if your buying it, its just really bad customer service. Also, I was looking at shirts and its hard to see whats on the shirts because they are folded, so I unfolded one and put it back but it didn't look the same way it did before. So as the guy was folding the shirt, he was looking at me and was like "you see this? this is all you had to do." Then I just walked out in pure disappointment. The worst skate shop in the U.S. hands down. This shop is definitely a disgrace to the skateboard community. Don't bother asking to borrow a razor blade or tools, they will pretty much tell you to get the hell out if you're not buying anything. My first time in this skate shop was probably my last. I went there with my boyfriend with full intention on buying a board. I was checking out a board and put it on the ground not to ride it in the store but just to get a feel for it. There was an African American male working there who rudely told me not to ride the board in there, I told him I was just checking it out, and he gave me a dirty look and said "what?" At this point I'm almost out the door, but i gotta have this board I've been looking for one like this. As I checkout he stands there, no communication, doesn't even look at me. He looks really pissed off. I spend over 150.00 dollars in there, he takes my card, swipes it and slides it towards me instead of handing it to me. No eye contact, no thank you, nothing but attitude. I just bought new bearings from this place for a reasonable price. Mostly, I just wanted to compliment the guys working there for being honest and straight forward. First off, I don't know much about skateboards in the new millenium, but this store is part shoe store, clothing store and skateboard store. That is why the place has "skate" in its name. They have boards from the new skool, the 80's pool style boards (the boards I used to ride), long boards, and freebords (which emulate snowboards). They also have trucks and wheels. Also, they have skate styled apparel and bags. So check this place out if you are in the 'hood. Sorry didn't really look at the prices so I can't comment. But it definitely has a cool boutique feel. read more

They have a great inventory of glasses, shirts, whatever. Top of the line decks all reasonably priced. Bought a set of new wheels which I love. Only drawback I had was customer service. Every question I asked about anything, he said he didnt know. Other employee gave vague answers as well. But then the manager (Casey) came out and gave me the information I sought. Support your local skate shop. The selection at East 4th is great, but the best part about it is the service. I had an phone inquiry, and Casey, went to extensive efforts to find the answer to my questions. Though he wasn't able to initially provide the product I was looking for, he went far and above to find out if he could or was getting it. Later on that day, I received a phone call, unexpectedly, from Casey, who used caller ID to find me, and told me he had located the product. I was seriously impressed. He had no need to call me, the product would have sold regardless. Great shop, great people. read more

Went here today to buy a skateboard, and the guy who was working was super friendly, not annoyed by my questions (because I know absolutely nothing about longboards), and didn't just try to sell me on the most expensive thing they had. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything, but he gave me some really good advice and was very knowledgeable in his recommendations. I was super pleased, and at the end of the day, I walked out pleased with my purchase. Although I only went in for the longboard, it did seem that they had a pretty good assortment of other items too, clothing and shoes and whatnot. I would, and definitely will, go back when I'm in the market for something related. On a side note, I've been to a bunch of skate shops in the area, and I felt like in terms of pricing, they were super reasonable. Went looking for shoes and they had a sale, so apparently when a couple walks into your store and is asking questions about the shoes in sale, you would get up off your ass and attend to the customers.
