That auto shop is absolutely the best place I've been in a long time. The owner John really takes the time to listen to your needs and expectations. Then his guys execute what is requested with no extra "add ons". He called us to get approval on some small item that he found on our vehicle, very respectable instead of just billing us at the end. They are very clean and quick . Great pricing That operation is run with integrity! Thanks LBAC read more

I just moved into the neighborhood and was looking for a good and honest auto mechanic to bring my 2017 Subaru Forester. I called at 7:30 in the morning and John the owner answered with such a positive attitude that I immediately felt good about my decision to bring my car to Long Beach auto clinic. I just shower up and Upon arrival he asked me all of the questions and even showed me how to check some levels in my car. I live right across the street so it was super convenient, fast and easy! After a few hours, John called me to let me know my car was ready for pick up. The price was great, and the customer service was amazing!!! I'm so glad I found someone to take care of my car troubles! read more

John I did not specifically ask for a radiator, I brought my car to you regarding a coolant leak and I know I didn't say the radiator because I was concerned it was another part. I brought my vehicle to you and you called stating I needed a new radiator. I was going through a lot mentally and emotionally so I decided to trust you since you were referred and the part is over priced. Come on John, just take some accountability. I brought my vehicle in due to a coolant leak, I paid $500 which you raised the price once the work was done, and when I went home the next morning I look in my drive way to see an active coolant leak. Come on, then why did I pay you if I still have the issue. And you didn't investigate the problem correctly because my coolant tank was cracked no auto shop should let a car leave in the condition mine was. read more

The owner listened well and gave me an opinion on engine noise. A previous repair place suggested a rebuilt engine and called a car auction guy to offer me a price on the spot. A disrepectful, poor English speaker, rude and pushy showed up and said " my deal is your best bet, take it". I was pleasantly surprised at Long Beach car clinic. They treated me with respect, not aggressive, seemed honest and knowledgeable. I had seen their shop, but always went to dealer. Long Beach Car Clinic has been around for decades. I often get nervous charting the unknown territory of car repairs, and fear being taken advantage of when going to mechanics. Long Beach Auto Clinic has demonstrated their trustworthiness, efficiency, and quality multiple times for myself, family, and referred friends. They're super nice and helpful, communicating before they perform any work, and another good sign. . . They're ALWAYS busy, which is a good sign of happy repeat customers! read more

BEWARE: Dishonest and Overpriced Service, Especially if You're a Woman! I had a terrible experience with this mechanic, and I feel obligated to warn others. The first time I brought my car in, he was very kind, diagnosing a missing bolt without charging me. That made me trust him, but it was a mistake. The second time, both my tail lights went out. He claimed my headlight motherboard was blown and needed replacement, along with new headlight assemblies, to prevent water damage. He quoted me $780 total ($480 for parts, $300 for labor). Assuming the $480 was for two headlights (based on dealership prices), I agreed. When I picked up my car, only ONE headlight had been replaced. When my fiancé called to clarify the pricing and requested a copy of the invoice, the mechanic became defensive, yelled at her, and refused to provide proof of the part's cost. He then hung up and screened our calls. This behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. It's clear I was overcharged and misled. Women should not be taken advantage of in this way! I am now filing complaints with the BAR and BBB and pursuing further action. Avoid this shop at all costs--don't let this happen to you! read more

They do excellent work at very good prices. I give them the dealer recommended service list and they tell me does and doesn't need to be done. Been a customer for 15+ years. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Friendly guys, good service. We had the catalytic converter stolen from our 2009 Prius last year (just one of many such thefts, unfortunately) and were in search of a place to install a shield over the new one. After talking to a couple of places, I was referred to John at LB Auto Clinic. I gave John a call and he told me to just get a shield off Amazon or wherever and he'd install it for $85 (the minimum they charge for work, their regular hourly charge being $110 as of this writing). I found one for about $150, called and made an appointment and brought it in. Vehicle intake was fast and easy, and a few hours later we got a call saying the car was ready. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and hopefully this will make our catalytic converter a little harder to steal. read more

I brought John my truck with an oil leak - he quickly diagnosed it, told me how long the fix would be and the projected cost. He was very proactive and interested with my questions and explained everything very well. He was able to help me understand my car better and put my mind at ease with the issue which is key for so many customers with car troubles. My truck is now fixed and these guys do the best for your vehicle using high quality parts. They have great prices and quality. Took my car a few weeks ago for back breaks replacement. According to the owner i believe his name is John he called me to say i needed new drums. I agreed for him to fix whatever i needed. According to them they put new drum and break. Well my car continue having a noise. I took my car again for the noise and to replace my breaks again but he said it was the axel and something else. I took it to another shop and there they showed me that my breaks and drums where never replaced and i got charged for something that was not done. The mechanic went to this shop to tell them to don't do this things to people. Specially us woman that don't know anything about cars. The Owner John was very unprofessional and threatened him with his dog. He was very disrespectful towards my mechanic calling him a dirty mechanic. I wish i can show the pictures of my car to show everyone how this shop works. read more

I left my car there with John and I say he's a very honest and fair individual. Gave me fair price on new belts to be performed. He always confirms everything with u with a quote of price without obligations. One time he said for me to just do it myself and save some money. For home to give me that advice I know he is t trying to gouge u for money. I'll be coming back for mor if my other problems . Only thing I don't like is that they're closed on Saturday bc for a person working m-f, it's hard to drop the cars off. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This place is the best. I always recommend it to my friends. They are very helpful informative and honest. ALSO, John has a New puppy named STEVE!! Example: as I've been tying to save money, I've been trying to do some mechanical work on my own. With my friend help I decided to replace the AC compressor yesterday. Everything went well until it didn't. The compressor wouldn't engage therefore the system wouldn't charge. So I called John. He said the bring it by after work. He had the AC charged and blowing ice cold in 20 minutes, actually staying past his quit time. All the guys are very friendly and all know my name and always ask about my mom, also a customer since their founding. read more

Long Beach Auto Clinic is absolutely the best mechanic shop I found. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and had been looking for a good, reliable and honest mechanic with reasonable prices for years since I stopped working on vehicles myself. Especially with technology getting so complicated. John and all the mechanic there are awesome!! They have helped us out for many years now. I'm grateful I found somewhere I enjoy going and they always fix the issues or do great maintenance upkeep. Thanks John and everyone there. Keep up the good work . Terry M. Long Beach read more

My sister and I just ran over a pile of metal debris on the 405 S and happened to pull off the frwy on Long Beach Blvd right in front of Long Beach Auto Clinic. We pulled in, and 3 gentlemen all came over to assist us. They changed our tire in about 5 minutes and we were on our way. When we asked how much it would be, John, told us "Merry Christmas" and didn't even charge us a cent. That kind of helpfulness and kindness goes A LONG way with me and If I ever need an auto body repair, I'm going back there! Thank you Long Beach Auto Body! read more

I used to be very pleased with their service. it is pretty hard to find a mechanic that is honest and cheap. When the dad was in charge, that is exactly how this place was. Honest labor at a fair price. I took my car in one time because the brakes were making noise (I had about 70K miles on the pads). The dad called me up about an hour later and said that it was just some "brake dust" making the noise. So he blew them out with his air compressor and didnt even charge me. WOW! that was awesome. He could have railroaded me for new pads and what not. Present day, with the son incharge of things, this place is not even a shadow of what it used to be. I brought my truck in to get the A/C belt changed, and when I picked it up, he not only changed the AC belt, but changed another belt without my permission. Total bill was around $250.00 What a rip off. I would have liked him to call first without these ad hoc repairs. His explanation was something like "for the good of the truck." Sounds like he did it for the good of his wallet. AVOID THIS PLACE NOW THAT THE SON IS IN CHARGE read more

Ok I'll start off by saying this is my first post ever and possible my last. I just had to get in another positive post about this place because the only reason why I came here was because of other yelpers feed back so I should thank you guys just as much as John at long beach auto clinic. So I'll keep it short and sweet if your debating between any other auto shops do yourself a favor and come here I'm sure glad I did. These guys won't rip you off and they do great work in a timely manner and if they tell you that you need something it's because you really do. I'm pumped that I've finally found a shop that I've searched for for years now. Thanks long beach auto clinic '05 Bonneville Out read more

My husband took our Lincoln here few weeks ago. John was very straight forward and honest. The price was fair compared to the dealerships. He's not the cheapest in town, which is also good so you know he does quality work. We really like this place cos it's just a few minutes away! Will definitely continue to take our cars here. read more

John is the best! Honest and always fixes our vehicles right the first time. Highly recommend!

This review is long overdue but I felt I had to wait because of the severity of work that was needed to repair my car. In November of 2014, I had to have an entire rebuilt engine constructed due to shoddy workmanship from another auto mechanic, that will go nameless. I was referred to the Long Beach Auto Clinic from a buddy of mine whose father has had a relationship with them for over 50 years. Because of the damage to my engine from the timing belt breaking, the guys at the Long Beach Auto Clinic had to keep my car for an extended amount of time in order to rebuild the entire engine. However, Here I am over one year later, and my car has had zero problems and runs better than it ever did before. I would highly recommend the service, expertise and workmanship of all the guys at the Long Beach Auto Clinic to anyone in this area. read more

I needed a new battery for my car so my friend Sean recommended to go to battery systems. Long Beach auto clinic just so happen to be connected right next to it and the manager was seriously such a sweet heart and squeezed me in for an oil change that I needed BADLY. Luis changed my oil for me, and did a great job also checking tire pressure, etc..if I could give this place a 10 star I would !!! Great people and very very reasonable prices !!!!!! read more

John is the man! He is the nicest man that will get your car working and will remain honest throughout the process. I stopped taking my car to the dealerships because they just rip you off. This is an excellent auto repair shop! What I like about LB automotive is that it is (as I am) a family owned and operated local business. Another is, John is honest (reasonable prices) and friendly. Him and his crew are excellent mechanics and they do repairs in just about all areas of automotive. This business has excellent customer service and is kept clean. We like this place and recommend it! read more

LB Auto Clinic is incredible. My battery died and when the AAA guy lifted my hood we found that the battery acid had leaked and corroded everything. AAA couldn't change out the battery so he got me started and told me to take it straight to a mechanic. My husband took it to no less than 5 places and none of them would touch it. All of them said that the terminal and line were beyond repair. So we took it to the dealership who quoted us a thousand dollars just for the part. As a last ditch effort my husband took it to LB Auto Clinic. John was able to clean it up and easily remove the parts that everyone else said would break if they touched them and he practically did it for free. So nice to find an honest mechanic! He's earned a customer for life! read more

I've taken my BMW here several times and have only had good experiences here. They've always done the work they promised to do (nothing extra without informing me first and without my permission) and compared to taking my car to the dealership, LBAC's prices are amazing. I've dealt with both the father and the son and both have been friendly and helpful. I don't live too far away from the shop so they've also been very accommodating with regards to giving me a ride home and back. This place was recommended to me by a neighbor and I haven't been disappointed! read more

It's always helpful to have a reliable mechanic. We've been taking our cars here for 11 years and have had nothing but great service. I would recommend them to anyone who lives in the area that is looking to avoid the "dealership" mechanic. And if they can't fix it, they know someone who can, which is really helpful. read more

I have used this place many times now, and I do believe they are honest and have the right intentions...HOWEVER, whenever the father helps me out, he is very offensive towards women that have questions or concerns. He even went as far as to tell me to "have my husband call him so he could explain the problem to him". He has NO patience to explain the cause/repair. The mechanics are great and the son is very friendly and honest. I just dread when the father is the one helping me out or answering the phone....not a good feeling as a women to be made to feel like you are an idiot in the 1940's. read more
