I've been looking to fix my car forever, I've taken it to many people before and no luck. Just recently I took it to long beach 76 and the manager Eddie took care of me well. He was able to find the problem and also give me a good price to fix. I dropped the car off and in not even a hour I got a call to pickup. He was honest and fast ill definitely be coming back. They give out free diagnostics which is even better!

Hands down the best auto repair shop in Long Beach! Finding an honest and trustworthy mechanic can…read morebe rare, but Jamel, the owner, is truly one of a kind. He is deeply knowledgeable, fair, and transparent--he will never overcharge you or try to take advantage of you. If a job isn't something he can do, he'll tell you directly rather than wasting your time or money. His mechanical work is always top-notch, and he consistently leaves our cars running perfectly. On top of that, his generosity and integrity are unmatched. Just recently, my wife's car had an issue with the headlight wiring, so we bought a replacement connector. Jamel helped us install it right away, and when I asked how much I owed him, he completely surprised me by saying to just leave a small tip. I was honestly left speechless. Mechanics like Jamel are truly hard to find these days. If you're looking for high-quality service at a fair price from someone you can actually trust, Advance Auto Service and Tires is the place to go. I can't recommend Jamel enough!

The value of their services is appropriate to what you receive as a customer. Also, I recently received a very expensive quote from another mechanic for a service my car needed and took it to Jamel and Celine. They inspected my car and ensured me that that service was not even necessary! I am not very knowledgeable about cars, so I deeply appreciate that they were honest with me at a time when I could very well have been taken advantage of and charged for something that was not needed. Jamel, Celine, and their team deserve all the business and positive reviews!

I brought in my '06 RSX Type S to get a new clutch and flywheel installed. I bought an ACT…read morelightweight flywheel and an Exedy Stage 1 clutch and brought it to them. I was also having issues with the clutch hydraulics (bought this car used, love it to death but don't like the way it was previously maintained). Upon investigation, they found that the master and slave cylinders were getting stuck, and they replaced them with reasonably priced parts. When they got to removing the old clutch and flywheel, they sent me a picture of the shoddy workmanship that the previous person who worked on the clutch did. They showed me that a bolt was barely screwed in! I can tell by the condition of the bolt that it had been like that for a long time. The diligent mechanics also noticed worn bushings and replaced them. All issues were evidenced with pictures so you know they're not fooling you. I previously worked as a mechanic so nothing gets past me when it comes to my vehicles being worked on. These technicians are diligent and the labor rate is very fair; you get what you pay for, in a good way. I immediately took a drive down PCH to Huntington Beach to begin the clutch break-in process. Everything feels perfect and I am happy with the work completed. I will be returning to Big Q for all my major service needs. As will my mom, whom also previously brought her car in for service.

I had been here once before and had a great experience, so when my car's AT light went on…read moreunexpectedly one night I called them first thing the next morning to see if they could get it in. They said they could and gave me a timeline for working on the vehicle that matched my needs. While I appreciate them getting me in on short notice, they consistently over-promised and under-delivered on when they would be able to work on my vehicle. They were able to diagnose a couple of leaks that they thought were the problem and sent me photos to show me what they were looking at. In the past when I've left my car at this shop for work they sent over a detailed estimate before starting the work, but this time I only received the verbal estimate over the phone. I drive an old car, which isn't worth much, and I did let the person know that I wasn't interested in investing more in repairs than the vehicle is worth. As it was, the two leaks were just over $1K to fix, and I OK'd the work to begin. After fixing the first two leaks, they then came back and told me there was a third leak, which would require a more major repair to the transmission and they would have to have their transmission person (who wasn't there that weekend) send me an estimate the next day. While I understand that it's plausible that the third leak wasn't something they could have originally diagnosed, it felt a bit weird that the photo they used to show me the leak was one of the original photos they had sent before starting any work. If the leak was visible in that photo, I'm unclear why they couldn't have diagnosed it earlier. The added cost of this additional repair definitely tips the scales of worth-it/not-worth-it to repair vs replace this car, so I wish I had had all the information before deciding to make the initial repairs. Unfortunately, despite stabilizing the ATF level, fixing the leaks did not resolve the transmission issue. On a smaller scale, they didn't check or top up the tire pressure, which most mechanics I've gone to have done as a courtesy when working on my vehicle. The day after I picked up my car the tire pressure light went on, and when I checked my tires all four of them had low pressure. It's a small thing, but especially when dealing with expensive mechanical items like cars, the small things matter a lot in creating a sense of security and trust with your mechanic. They did mention that they were under new management since the last time I had been in, which may account for the different experiences.

A place and people I can trust!…read more I've been coming here for about a few years now. This place is family owned and operated. Everyone here is great! They get the work done and if I ever encounter any issues, they don't shun me away like other places would. They fix it! This is a place that prides themselves on great customer service, quality work and high level of care. John, Tabetha & Trevor, you all are dope!!! Thank you for being real people and always taking care of me, my car and anyone that I've sent over to you throughout the years. The trust that you've built goes a long way.

I originally took my Audi S3 to this shop during a really stressful moment because I needed the car…read morefixed fast for an urgent situation, and I trusted them to actually look into what was going on. Instead, they hit me with a huge bill and gave me the laziest "diagnosis" I've ever seen. They didn't check anything properly, didn't give me photos, didn't give me compression numbers, didn't do a real bore scope, nothing. They just jumped straight to "replace everything" like that was the only option instead of actually finding the root of the problem. I was even told I was missing a valve??? When I had it inspected by a much more capable shop, I clearly saw all my valves in my motor. They also wanted to replace both cams, yet when only ONE was replaced by their neighbor, my car runs perfectly fine. They really tried to upsell me into a full rebuild without proving anything was wrong. Then I took the same car to Euro Car Clinic, and the difference was insane. Euro Clinic actually tore the engine down, checked timing, checked compression, did a real bore scope, found the stretched chain, found the fuel pump leaking into the oil, replaced the right parts, and showed me every step with photos and updates. And the crazy part? I paid HALF of what this shop tried to charge me, and Euro Clinic actually fixed the car. Not to mention the difference in the invoices I'm honestly embarrassed to even show the comparison. This shop's invoice had zero photos, tons of misspelling, and looked completely unprofessional. Even when I called for weeks asking for photos, all I ever got was "oh it's on my phone, I'll send it right now," and I never received anything. This place wasted my time, my money, and my trust. After seeing what real professionalism looks like, I would never recommend them to anyone.
