Favorite small bar in the city. Perfect place to go for the entire evening or just the few hours you're waiting for your reservation at one of the surrounding uber busy restaurants in Chicago. I'm a little biased it being a three floyds bar but hey I love gumballhead and alpha king. Small, dark, easy, comfortable and has an outdoor area. Staff is always cool and quick with the pours. for a literal bad taste in your mouth, there's nothing like flat or downright unpalatable libations. for a figurative bad taste in your mouth, there's nothing like a bartender embarrassing your friend when a payment method is declined. a girlfriend and i caught up over phenomenal bites around the corner and we decided to cap off the night with one more drink. i suggested we drop in here. she ordered a prosecco and i ordered the drive in: jim beam bonded, grapefruit, hibiscus, and cinnamon, which has been bottled and carbonated. her prosecco had zero bubbles or body. my beverage tasted like purple drank concentrate. a gentleman beside us also ordered it and apparently made the same face i did upon first sip. we decided that it wasn't worth it to finish our drinks, and we would close out and call it a night. my friend handed her card over to pick up the tab, and the bartender came back and told her it wasn't going through. she smiled and politely informed him that her card has a small dent in it and that oftentimes, it won't read the first time. he hastily brushed her off, said he tried twice, then looked at me and barked out, "$23, miss." before i could react, my friend asked if he would try her card one more time. moments later, he returned. the card went through. he offered us each a shot to apologize. my ch distillery fernet-dogma shot was the only pleasing aspect of the experience. read more

I like the space a lot -- sort of no frills, but cozy. The cocktails are great too. I had a pisco cocktail that really knocked me off my feet. Overall a nice place to visit in the West Loop. read more

Probably will not go back--even though it's a nice bar with space to move around and a noise level we didn't have to shout over with decent cocktails-I could do with less attitude and better customer service. Head bartender: what can I get you? woman: I'd like a martini, dirty, with 3 olives. Head bartender: I'm sorry we don't have any olives. (woman thinks--how does a Randolph Street bar not have olives on a busy Saturday night?! strike one.) woman: Really? Well...there's a grocery store down the street... (thinking the Manager would have thought of sending someone on staff with some cash--or even to the bar next door--instead....) Head bartender: Do you want to go get them? Do I want to go get them?!?--strike two--shame on me for not getting up and walking out. read more

Great new spot in the West Loop. We came on a Saturday and it was very low key. I stuck with wine, but my two friends tried one of their cocktails and beers on draft and both liked what they got. The bartenders were super friendly and we enjoyed talking to them as they made drinks. I will definitely be back! read more

Went here to kill time while waiting for a table at Au Cheval. Really liked the ambience--dimly lit, spacious, kind of old school. Had a decent craft beer selection, but I went for a Dark & Stormy, which was just okay--nothing to write home about. Had another cocktail after that, which was great, but I can't remember the name. It involved coffee liqueur and a whole egg, so if you see something like that on the menu, go for it. Overall, a nice place to grab a drink, but a bit overpriced. read more

Clever ploy with the Three Floyds sign outside to lure people in, it got me in the door. I was a little disappointed that the Three Floyds they did have (and only 4 at that) were all common ones you can pick up at any liquor store, nice to have them on tap though. Considering the area its in it is a dive, but its not that bad compared to any local bar but it really doesn't fit its location. prices are ok, decent by Chicago standards and a full bar which is nice. No real reason to return here but maybe if you want to grab a quick beer while waiting for a table somewhere else? read more

Awesome beer list. Lots of space. And bartenders that are way cooler than you and would rather be doing something other than serving you. You fucking loser. Yeah you'll have your zombie dust when I feel like serving you. I have a mustache. My dad pays for my Logan Square apartment. read more

This place could be a really cool bar with a classy hipster vibe. However... I went there for my first time last night and there is one particularly awful staff member (all the others were excellent). After finishing our drinks, we continued sitting at the bar talking for about 15 minutes when the guy came to us and said "anything else to drink?" We said no as he grabbed all of our waters, which we were drinking at the time, and disposed of them as a signal to tell us to leave. This guy should be fired. You don't treat guests like that, especially when they just paid $15 a piece for a very average old fashioned. read more

It's the trendy, bougey West Loop...I get it. And this has the cosy feel of a dive, more neighborhood bar (minus the dive bar prices). I only had drinks at the bar so can only comment on that...rudest, most-arrogant, self-absorbed bartenders ever (and I think one of them may have been the owner). I dropped a chunk of change but I'd prefer to spend my money at a real dive bar where bartenders are really happy to serve you. Maybe this is the trendy new customer service? Will not go back. read more

I came here on a Sunday evening for a couple of beers. I've heard it can get pretty busy but Sunday night was a good time to go and be able to get a spot. Beer selection was varied and we had no trouble with the service. The prices are just kind of high, but I understand it's the neighborhood for overpriced drinks. There wasn't much to set it apart and make me want to go back, but it was fun to check out at least once! read more

Came here for drinks with friends and had a great time. They have a great beer list and the cocktails are unique and tasty.

Had a couple of drinks here post dinner on Randolph. I liked it - but it was very, very Brooklyn. (where I am from). Total hipster bar. Had a really good champagne cocktail and then a good craft beer. I'd definitely go back, but if you're a white hat wearing bro, it's not for you. read more

Had a great time on Saturday night. Comfortable, low-key bar feels like an old school watering hole that you might find in North Dakota-- unpretentious Midwestern quality. Bartenders are knowledgeable and can make solid cocktails. Perfect pour on my draft Jacobin. Loud enough to be fun but I could still have a conversation with my friend. Definitely going back. read more

I would have never gone to this place had I read the reviews prior to my visit. I went here on a (Tinder, yes you heard me!) date and enjoyed every aspect of the evening aside from the date itself. I really liked the ambiance, the bartender was super attentive but not overbearing, and the drinks are very good. read more

Friendly, relaxed and Nathan the bartender is enjoyable to watch work, a real craftsman. Great mixed drinks, excellent beer on tap, good music in the background. A Chicago go-to for the travel warrior. read more

Honestly as soon as I saw the 3 Floyds Brewing sign I was already satisfied. The Lone Wolf provided ZOMBIE DUST on tap, shelter from the long wait at Au Cheval, reasonable pricing, and quick service. Seems to be a good enough bar to relax with friends after a days of work with some tasty brews. read more

Cucumber vodka and lime. Nuff said! When I arrived there around 10pm on a Friday night, the place was hoppin. Despite how busy it was the bar tenders were on top of it. I never had to wait long to get their attention and the drinks were top notch, not to mention the bartenders were engaging and funny. Definitely a great place to gather and drink with friends if you find yourself in the West Loop, and it's close enough to the loop to walk so you're not stuck at one of the uptight overpriced bars in that area! read more

The staff was very rude and unfriendly. We were forced to leave at 1:40 when the bar closed at 2. They made us stand in the cold because they said we had to be out of the bar. I would not recommend this bar to anyone trying to have fun or enjoy their evening, there are plenty of other bars in the neighborhood. read more

We came to Lone Wolf on a Friday and immediately upon hearing we were going there I thought that the last thing I wanted to do was go there. As one would normally assume, a new bar in a trendy part of Chicago would be crowded with bad service. Lone Wolf was different: service was extremely quick and attentive. We got 2 tables within 15 minutes of arriving there. The cocktails were great, beer selection was great and the food menu looked promising. They carry Pleasant House bakery savory and sweet pies. There is even a beer and a pie deal which I will be taking advantage of in the future. read more

Nice little bar. Decent beer selection. Service was friendly & attentive - we were very well taken of by the staff. Great place for drinks & snacks if waiting for a table at Au Cheval next door! read more

Love that they have Three Floyds on tap and in bottles that I had yet to try. The noise level was a bit much and they could use some sound proffing. read more

I have been here multiple time, probably one of my favorite bars in the West Loop. Awesome feel and drinks, great beer selection. I also heard Metallica in the bar, which you probably haven't heard at a bar with a ton of BWBs in about 25 years. Only drawback was the pies. I went here the other night for food (Au Cheval was closed, I know). We looked over the pie list and everything sounded great. We got the pies and I was less then impressed. The pies were about appetizer size, $10, and nothing impressive. I could see paying $5, but $10, really? read more

Barrelhouse and Bangers made a baby. So, it's best of both worlds- Three Floyd's on tap and great cocktails... And Pleasant House Bakery pies. I selfishly don't want anyone else to know about this place, but that's not fair, is it? read more

Nothing that special or unique. Overpriced drinks that were neither amazing nor memorable. It wasn't crowded, and seemed to cater to professionals and hipsters. Not sure what exactly will keep them in business for long run other than being on busy restaurant row. Service was friendly enough. read more

Loud and pricey, but it is a fun place to grab a drink. It's one of only a handful of places that stay open late on weeknights in the West Loop , which means it can fill up on Thursday nights! read more

This is a solid place to grab a drink with some friends. They always seem to have Three Floyd's Zombie Dust on tap which is a major plus. Wine selection is decent. Both times I've gone, our group managed to snag a table, but it does tend to get very busy as the night goes on. We decided to try an appetizer, and chose to get a couple orders of Scotch Eggs. They are the perfect bar food treat to go along with a couple drinks. Deep-fried crispy outside, warm melty egg inside with a middle layer of rich sausage- it is decadent, and so delicious. This place will continue to be a stop on the bar scene. read more

Forgettable. Dark. Noisy. Had drinks here waiting for our table at Girl and a Goat.

What a gem and nice addition to Randolph Street. With so many restaurants in the area, the fact that this place is more geared towards beverages is GREAT; its a wonderful option to head to while awaiting a table at a nearby spot. I can only talk about their drinks as I have not indulged in their food options and I must say their sorbet drinks are OH SO TASTY! Pretty cool vibe here, their music was a little loud for my taste on one occasion but it didn't ruin the experience. I'm sure I'll pop in again at some point when I'm in the area. read more

Just went for a quick beer the other night. Popular place. we couldn't get a spot outside but I wasn't surprised since it was a gorgeous September day in Chicago and we were just in time for happy hour. They have a good beer selection and the bartenders were friendly. They would have gotten a 5 but my wine was served in a rocks glass and that's just wrong. read more

Bartender is an a##. I mentioned it was cold and he replied with some jerk response. I'm not telling you that you have to change the temperature just for me but you don't have to make rude comments to your customers. I'm fine walking 10ft away to next bar which was way busier than lone wolf. Oh and I have been here before and service was better last time but food pretty bad. read more

Have had such great nights out here but tonight was the exception. The bartender in the black and white Hawaiian shirt was so rude but the bartender in the bball hat made up for it. Hawaiian shirt went ahead and told us to go home after we asked him his suggestion as to where to go out in the area. I'm in shock that he did that...so rude bc we approached it as a good situation. I won't be back any time soon. Disappointed. read more

This is a small spot with great drinks. Came here after happy hour on a Friday night. Waited by bar to snag a seat with a friend and ordered a few rounds. Service was great for how busy it was. Dark, dim, cool place to check out. read more

Stopped by for a drink on Saturday night around 9:30. Wasn't sure what to expect given the small bar feel but it was completely packed! There was a very fun vibe and great music. The beer list had a few three floyds drafts (including zombie dust) which was a great plus! The only downside was due to the crowd there was no seats at the bar or tables left. You also had to wait a while to get the bartenders attention. Would go back a little earlier next time to get a spot at the bar, but definitely returning read more

This bar fits nicely in with the rest of Randolph Street. Music was great.

Weird atmosphere for Randolph street restaurant row. A little hipster, with some old school bar hints. The drinks were so so and I had the Scotch Egg, not bad just average. read more

We love Lone Wolf. Bartenders are great and knowledgeable if you know how to order a drink and behave in a crowded bar but you can't fault them for treating you half-assed if you're a douchebag. Hats to Patrick he's great! read more

I stopped in after dinner to get a drink with a friend. I wasn't looking for anything fancy when I ordered a glass of house red wine, but I definitely expected better for $11. I would definitely stick with the cocktails--my friend's cocktail was really good. I did like the ambiance. Music was a little loud for a weekday but I had a good time. read more

Finally, a true Three Floyds haven in the city of Chicago. The visit was brief following an early dinner down the street at Nandos. Being from Indiana anything with the name "Floyds" makes my ears perk up. This so happened to be a Three Floyds bar down the street from a Floyds barbershop. I was excited to say the least. Although it was crowded like any other Chicago bar on a weekend, the service was sufficient to meet a beer-hungry person's needs. The "alpha kong" may have been the best "Belgian Strong" beer that has ever graced my taste buds. Looking for a beer in the West Loop? Here should be your stop. The menu is sparse with just the right beers. Cheers! read more

Love that they have beers from 3 Floyds and a very good selection drinks. However, this place is severely lacking in both service and decor. I understand it is not a sports bar but a place to gather and socialize - i like that and envisioned it as a great place to grab a drink and catch up with a few friends. However, this place is very minimal - imagine middle of nowhere Wisconsin side of the road place. The service wasn't good or attentive either. My friends and I sat at the bar with empty drink for about 20 mins even though we were trying to get the bartenders attention. Food menu is limited and very average at best from what we tried. One note that everyone should be aware of, DONT GET THE COOKIE DESSERT! It is literally just a single small cookie that looks like it is straight out of a box. Biggest waste of money and disappointment all night! Not sure how well funded, but this place may rival OON as the quickest open and close on Randolph. The fact that Randolph is booming with growth should make this extremely difficult, but based on the early feedback and personal experience they may have nailed it. Gotta bring both decor and service - or at least make up for one with outstanding food! read more
