Are you kidding me. This place charged us for ice! I thought California was crazy!!! What a joke. The shame is here.

Lone Wolf had more of a pub feel. You walked in and seated yourselves so I would recommend getting there somewhat early if you want a table as it got pretty crowded later on. The service was good. Our waitress checked in on us pretty often given how busy it was at the time. I got the cider, which wasn't great. Usually with ciders I expect it to be a little sweet. One of my friends got the white wine and for $9, I thought the portion was quite small. If I were to return, I'd probably stick with beer. We also tried their pies. I got the Mac Daddy, which is macaroni and cheese with bacon and onion. It was ok, not fantastic. The Mushroom and Kale pies that my friends got were better. Overall, it was pretty average and I probably won't be returning. read more

Dear male bartender with blue adidas. Some people may want a second drink. He sat our drinks down and before we even touched the glass asked for our payment. Then stared over every 5 minutes to see if we were signing the tab. Umm you already charged the cards. We actually might have had a second drink if you didn't seem so antsy about making us leave. Came here with bunch of friends (10) and my BF for his birthday and even though the place was pretty much empty (it was around 8 PM on Monday), they weren't exactly attentive and looking into making some money. Both bartenders were looking at our group as intruders. They were reluctant to change the music and play anything else later after their playlist would be done, so we ended up leaving to explore other places nearby and I'm so glad we did !! This place didn't come out as a good place for groups at all. I think it might be nice but only take a friend or two. read more

Yeah it's fun. I tend to make the trip to this area just for the Lone Wolf, which is crazy, I know. Of course it's not really that far away, but that's a story for another time. The music is usually good, I must say I like the random group of gatherers, too. The bouncers tend to seem pretty awesome. Millions of places to eat nearby , or you can have a hot dog here. There are lots of fun neighboring bars for a pub crawl of sorts, if one is so inclined. S'fun. Did I mention Zombie Dust? read more

Lone Wolf - Bars Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

When 30-40-50 plus year olds want to feel like they are 21 again...this is one of my favorite spots. They play it off like they are a dive bar, but really it's pretty pretentious and the staff can be snotty, but for some reason, I still really love it. It's like the hipster kids that try so hard to look like they don't care and they really spent a fortune and several hours to look like that. But I'm eating it up. Just can't get enough. It's a standard bar with regular cocktails and they look at you side eyed if you don't order a schlitz or a craft beer...alas, I still like it. read more

If you had to classify one place on the Randolph strip as a 'dive bar', Lone Wolf would be it. It's far from a normal dive bar though. It has a slightly upscale, hipster feel and doesn't have any TVs. Unlike some of the other restaurants that are super trendy, this bar is much more chill and, while they're definitely known for their Three Floyds drafts, they make some pretty darn tasty cocktails--they're always super balanced. Lone Wolf can get packed on a weekend night because it's known as one of the best places to kill time when you're on the wait life for Au Cheval. Don't expect to be able to get a table unless you get there before 7pm! read more

Rude Tall Bartender, ignoring you at 1 Am, drink spills he charges , pretends you are intoxicated. Worst place I have been to in terms of service on Randolph Old fashioned C- read more

Hipster bar trying too hard. Underwhelming, loud AF, mediocre drinks, minimal service. Dives make mean drinks, not sure what's going on here...drinks dumped in glasses with tons of ice cubes - forget served up, on the rocks or a swizzle/crush. Lazy game, yawn. read more

One of my favorite bars in west loop: awesome crowd, great drink selection, central location right off Randolph near all the restaurants, nice vibes. I've gone here pretty much every day of the week at this point, and no day fails. I highly, highly recommend if in the area! read more

When Lone Wolf first opened, there weren't many drink spots on Restaurant Row. Smart business move to be next to Au Cheval to get all those people waiting 18736482828727 hours. Really, it has become a good spot for a drink. They used to serve one of my favorite beers here (Yoho Wednesday Cat) but I've become a Schlitz guy for whatever reason...and they got that too. Of course they do 3 floyds beers as well if you're into that. read more

I was SO excited to walk into this place after seeing it from a distance. "Dive bar! dive bar! dive bar!" went through my head. But the outside is so SO misleading. You walk inside, and it's like every other douchesparkle bar you would find in, say, River North. Alright, alright - I'll give it a chance I guess. But the cocktail menu (and limited food menu) just confuses me - sgroppino? In a way, it seems like they are trying too hard. And with limited seating and massive crowds, meh. Three Floyds on tap so that's cool, but with all the great options in the area, I don't know why you would come here. read more

The beer, of course, was tasty, but the overall ambiance and attitude from the employees wasn't worth it for me. I couldn't hear my friends talk, one of which I hadn't seen in a few years. The bartender was clearly running the show rocking out to his favorite songs that he would turn up louder and louder as he slammed shots. I have been in the industry for years and feel like I can say that I can handle a lot before I get irritated, but I definitely left this night with a vow to never return. It's too bad because I feel like this place has a lot of promise. I imagine if the bartenders cared more about their customers and less about their fun time and giving their friends free drinks, it would be a much more enjoyable experience. Haha, I just read the rest of the reviews and apparently everyone else has had the same experience with this jerk, bartender guy. I tried to be polite when I wrote this review the first time around- but as soon as we walked in, he was judging us and treating us like we were crap. That attitude was really offensive. A know it all, hipster bartender who would rather drink the bar's booze than make the company money. Who ever owns this place should really be reading these reviews if they plan on staying afloat. read more

The wait at that overrated burger place next door was stupid long, so we went to Lone Wolf for some drinks before dinner. Obvs we were all hangry so we ordered a stick-less corn dog to tide us over. Honestly, I'm not even sure if this place is good or if I was just happy to be eating something. I'd give this place five stars, but they stop table service at 9:30 and who wants to get up to order more corn dogs? Not me. So ultimately... Good beer and corn dogs Food puts me in a good mood Adderall helps too read more

We were having a great time until one of the staff put an end to our fun. My group of 6 was seated at a booth, drinking and placing harmless $1 bets on various activities in the bar (e.g. The next person coming in will be wearing glasses). After a couple of hours of this, a staff member came over and said, "I can either take a cut of this or you can stop right now. The house always gets a cut, right?" Based on his tone we figured it was a joke, but he reiterated it in a similar acerbic manner. Now I acknowledge that $1 bets hastened the fall of the Roman Empire, but perhaps this gentleman could have exercised more tact in asking us to cease our activities. We closed the tab immediately and will never set foot in here again, and neither should you. read more

Loved the atmosphere of this bar and they play great music! New favorite bar in Chicago! Also: Mmmmmm.. Zombie Dust! read more

Meh. I went here with friends after au cheval for a beverage. No one was in there due to the -30 degree wind chill and yet still the service was inattentive. I was with a group of 7-8 and with 2 bartenders or a bartender and bar back it was just lackluster in the attention department. I had one drink and left. Drink was good. read more

Pretty fun spot with well made drinks and an interesting throwback playlist. It gets crowded but it happens in waves, just be a little patient and you can wiggle yourself to the bar. Didn't see a coat check so kind of got to decide to either carry your puffer in the winter or just go without one which is inconvenient. I liked the crowd and vibe it was classy and much less "bro" and a more chill professional atmosphere. People were definitely having a good time but nobody was out of control loud or pushy. We had basic drinks like vodka sodas and jack/coke but the pours were really perfect. The bartender poured the right amount of alcohol and didn't fill mixer to the brim, they poured it just right which was a refreshing thing to experience. I would definitely go back here with friends. read more

Bouncers are out of control. Witnessing the bouncer hand select people in line who were doing nothing but waiting and refusing service looked a lot like racism. They were clearly Latino and the bouncer wasn't having it. It caused a scene. Bouncer was clearly at fault. Management didn't do shit. We will not be returning. I have worked in the industry many times as a bartender, bar manager, etc... The actions of the staff would have resulted in termination of it were my bar. Shame on this place. We have no room for this shit in the West Loop. read more

I came to this bar because I live 3 blocks away and my friend told me about it. The bartender with the black cap and messy hair is awful . I tried to ask for a glass of wine and he was super rude . I left a tip anyway because my life is beautiful and I feel bad that the guy is so unhappy with his life. read more

Couldn't even get a drink in this place! For a place that just opened you'd think they'd be hustlin' to keep happy patrons...that wasn't quite what we found when we stopped in last night. Bar is pretty cute- empty in terms of decorations, like others stated (no TVs, if that's important to you), but I thought it was pretty charming. Very old school feel. Pretty empty in terms of customers, too, but we stopped in late on a Sunday (around 8:30-9:00?), so I wasn't expecting a huge crowd. Anyway, our waitress came by immediately and gave us menus and glasses of water. Told us the kitchen wasn't open which was kind of a bummer 'cause we were looking for snacks, too. We perused the menu, picked out some yummy looking cocktails, and began our wait. So we waited. And waited. Aaaaaaand waited some more. After 20-30 minutes with no return service by our waitress we just walked out. read more

Perfect example of, don't judge a book by its cover. On the outside it appears to be some small dive with not much to offer. The inside is modern, wooden, romantic, and gorgeous. We were taken aback. While waiting for a table at Au Cheval we came here for a couple $9 vodka sodas. Good crowd, friendly bartenders, and tacos looked good. read more

Loud. So loud. Stop playing music from "Tony Hawk" games as loud as possible. Expensive. Yea, it's the West Loop/Randolph area, but this place exists only for the location. Didn't guzzle enough cocktails at Au Cheval, did ya? Three Floyds for you "beer experts." read more

The sheer number of times "douche" has been used to describe this joint is hilarious. So, let me add one more. I'm sitting here right now and my waitress has the personality of someone with a douchenozzle stuck up her hoohah. Seriously, is it hard to smile or say anything besides, "Our drafts are on the board." There are 8 drafts - you can't read those to me so I don't have to get out of my seat and walk over to a chalkboard? I ordered the Gin Shandy which has aviation gin, lemon and gumballhead beer. I love gin and I love lemon and I really love gumballhead, but something isn't mixing well with this bev; it tastes like Mr. Clean vommed in my drink. *edit: Another waitress informed me upon ordering a different drink that they were out of gumballhead and were using a pilsner in its place. I wish the other, less pleasant, lady had told me that! The atmosphere is OK which is why I lean on 2 stars versus 1. U-shaped booths line the walls with a big bar in the middle of all the wood and (p)leather(?). I know I'm a stickler for service - and how it'll shine or dive - and unfortunately Miss No Personality has not shined on me. Shame... this area needed a bar other than Haymarket. read more

I am not cool at all, but this place is cool. I think the set up here is good, the beer list is amazing, and the drinks are off the hook. We had a whole pile of drinks here and I can say that I tried most all of the non champagne cocktails. Now, they do a few different kinds of champagne cocktails so if you are a beer and booze guy but you want to impress that woman you really want to get to like you - bring her here! You can drink beer and stiff drinks, and she can have a champagne cocktail. Good to see the folks from Three Floyds on tap here. Excellent all around, and I did enjoy the pickled egg and the bag of chips (very Milwaukee, Wisconsin by the way) but I think eggs should come in pairs or sets if you will. One egg seems strange to me! Strange! Anyhow the one egg was good. The space is open which I like. Service is fast and friendly, and after I got Charles Bukowski drunk the awesome server brought me and my friends a few liters of water. Thanks bud. Thanks a lot. Excellent. I don't like the bar. Sorry. It reminds me too much of the bar at Revolution and I don't like that one either. read more

Lone Wolf can be an associate member of my wolf pack. A-OK is the way I'd describe it. The space is attractive, and as a lucky person who gets out of work at 4:30, I have not experienced any issues with crowding, douchiness, or slow service. The cocktail list was limited though what we got was good and they have some interesting beers. Food's more on the snacky side though they do feature Pleasant House's pies, including the Mac Daddy which is not on the normal PH menu. We also tried the rarebit. Like I said, Lone Wolf is alright. It's slightly above my normal post work price point and I am more likely to grab PH pies at the source which is BYOB, but it's good to know that Lone Wolf is an option. read more

I actually love this bar, but this is a story about some very shady business involving one of their employees. I left my jacket at Lone Wolf on a Thursday. I called them right when they opened on Friday and left a message describing it and asking them to call me back so I could go and pick it up. I didn't hear back from them, and on Monday my friend went to try and get it back. When he got there, he described it to the bartender and it wasn't in the lost and found. The bartender let my friend go in the basement and look for it, and he found it in the locker of an employee (Laura). I know it's mine because it has a pretty obvious snag in the sleeve. So, moral of the story is their employees will steal from you if you leave your stuff there. I'm torn because I used to come here a lot, and I don't know if I want to patronize a place who has people like this working for them. Enter at your own risk, and don't leave anything behind. read more

Lone Wolf doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. Everything inside is wooden, so it gives off a slight lodge feel. The crowd alternates between an after-work crowd and divey. They serve high-end cocktails. The confusion shows in the service, which was abysmally slow, even when not crowded. We had a nice cocktail here before dinner but found the overall experience to be nothing special. read more

Great atmosphere for a drink after work or before a night out and dinner. I had the sgrippinos No. 02 lime, strawberry & tequilla garnished with strawberry No. 03 lime, cucumber & vodka garnished with cucumber float And they were delicious! They have an extensive beer menu but since I'm not too much of a beer drinker I ventured to try their specialty cocktails which did not disappoint. Definitely get there early enough for a table or booth if it's the weekend. I recommend giving this place a try before dinner on randolph! read more

I'll keep this one short, as we weren't here long. But any bar that serves Zombie Dust has been flying in the door like nobodies business. We actually came here because we were supposed to have a 9pm reservation at Maude's. Another person joined our party last second and they were unable to accomodate a larger reservation. Left to wander, we wandered here. This place is cool. It's a "seat yourself" type of deal. You snag a table, then head to the bar and order from the menu. You then sit yourself down at the table and enjoy the vibe; the dark, trendy, rapid moving vibe. Its definitely a bar custom made for the West Loop. Besides the Zombie Dust, they have a decent selection of craft beers. We had the fries with the spicy mayo, as well as some sort of chicken pate. Hung out here for about two hours; a lot longer than we planned on staying. Long story short, head over here. You wont be disappointed. read more

We always come here when waiting for a table at Au Cheval or Girl and the Goat, or after dinner at any of the amazing restaurants in the area. Short but quality cocktail list that changes every few months or so. The Rye N Gosling is my favorite but you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Same goes for the beers on draft. The bartenders are actually really creative and usually don't have a problem coming up with something great if you tell them what kind of mood you're in and a couple cocktail ingredients you like. Maybe one day I will try the food here but for now just stick to the drinks. It can get very dark and loud inside but that's just the nature of the place. Good music--maybe a little too heavy on the Black Keys. Still gonna keep coming back though! read more

I had no intention of coming here. Not that there would be any reason not to. But since I was in the neighborhood on an early Friday evening, and I had time to kill, I followed the Yelpers' advice. Jack rocks. That's what I ordered, I mean. The price was a little steep, but a decent pour. I don't know if it was Jack or me who was magic, but a minute or two later, a sassy dame happened up to the bar right next to me. "Hey, I know you!" I said. And I did. She had gotten a fancy cocktail, and we caught up for a little while. She had never been here either; something about a goodbye party for a colleague. Love the decor, it has an old masculine feel to it, a nice large bar to sit at and gaze from one side to the other and wonder about the dozen or so stories writing themselves in the present tense. And classic booths to sink into around the perimeter. Next time, maybe I'll camp in one of those and expect another dame to happen by and cozy up to this Lone Wolf in the corner. But for now, I love ya babe, but I've got to go. I have a Divvy bike to ride off into the sunset. read more

We stopped in here - as I suspect many people do - while waiting for a table at Au Cheval next door. We were intrigued by the Three Floyds signage outside, as we absolutely love their beers, and were really pleasantly surprised to see what an amazing tap list they have of Three Floyds. The place is open and casual. The bartender was very friendly - we tasted a couple of beers and found some very delicious ones. We also loved the menu as we used to live in London and it's not super easy to find British food and pies. Since we were waiting for burgers, we just shared the scotch egg, which was really good, but I absolutely want to go back and try out more of the food and beer. A winner in West Loop! read more

I've been here three times now and I hadn't planned to write a review but a friend of mine asked me about it and I couldn't get overly excited, despite the fact that we have no real bars in the hood. I checked out some of the other reviews and I realized that I felt a lot like the other 2 and 3 star reviews. Great vibe when you walk in but the service just kills it. It's almost like they are trained to be aloof and unfriendly (and to not check back on you when you're sitting for a while with an empty drink). It's a good waiting place for one of the restaurants but I couldn't imagine coming here with my friends and staying for more than one or two drinks -- It's no Cheers. read more

Atmosphere and drinks are good. However, the attitudes and attentiveness of the bartenders leave a lot to be desired. I wouldn't be surprised if this place didn't last very long in the West Loop. read more

The service at this place is horrendous. I went here with my husband a few weeks ago to grab a cocktail. The bartenders literally walked by us, while making eye contact, and purposefully ignored us for the first 10 minutes we were there. We were there pretty close to last call, but still... The drink was mediocre at best. read more

I've been here a good amount of times...due to the wait at Au Cheval. It's a great bar though outside what might be a pit stop before heading to Au Cheval. Their beer selection on draft is great. They do have 3 Floyds Gumballhead on draft. One of my favorite beers. Their cocktails are good as well. Been here on a Friday/Saturday night and it does get very packed. But during the week it's pretty easy to find seating all over the place. read more

I came here to just to kill time before heading to the airport, and wow did this place exceed my expectations. It has all the worn-in nonchalance you would want from a great neighborhood bar (and a bunch of Three Floyd's on tap, which is always appreciated), but the friendly bar staff were more than up to the task to make some fantastic cocktails. They weren't fancy, or especially inventive: they were just really, really good. Great cocktails without pretension are a rare commodity, and should be applauded when found. Would recommend with extreme enthusiasm. read more

Nice decor and great beer list, alas the barman is MIA again on my second attempt at having a drink at this establishment. I can see him focused intently on a brunette across the bar - I think he has forgotten that he is working.... Listening to the munted tunes on a sound system that sounds like it is hidden somewhere in a cardboard box - I finally got served and things were looking up with a Three Floyds that usually eases the pain. Alas, those noisy repetitious dreary synth chords keep wailing at me from some busted speaker and I wish I could scull a beer like a Prime Minister... With the beer mostly downed, Yelp review nearly done - another dreary song arriving, I finish my review, down the last mouthful and get the fuck out of this place.... read more
