They have lots of wonderful sides to go with the entree. The restaurant is roomy and the wait staff are so friendly. I highly recommend eating there.

I completely understand the great reviews, and I completely understand the bad reviews. We've experienced both in the multitude of times that we have been there. We've had really great servers that were attentive, got all of the order right and just checked all the boxes. We've had servers that were so bad we actually didn't leave any tip at all, which is in no way normal for us. We usually tip very well. It's probably been a month since we've been there because the last time we were there, the food was not great, well the steak I ordered was not great, which is not normal. My favorite item menus are the nachos for an appetizer, the buffalo burger, which never disappoints, my husband loves the seafood platter with the fried fish and shrimp. Their bread pudding is really good if you like raisins which we do and their blackberry cobbler. We will definitely go back, at some point, our last experience just made us want to try some other restaurants. We do avoid it on nights that they're gonna have someone singing if possible or we try and go early to miss all that.

They are on all four walls. It does make it a little bit noisy if you came for a regular meal. That said, it's almost like it started as a country cafe restaurant and grew into a sports bar. The menu actually offers typical Texas meals like chicken fried steak for less than they sell a burger. A restaurant in transition? I don't know... I wanted to see how they do with the classics so I ordered the chicken fried steak. The mashed potatoes are about 50% cheddar cheese. certainly edible without any other addition. The meat was good quality, tender, good flavor. Could have used some butter on the Mexican street corn. Overall a good value at 16 dollars. Non smoking. Happy hour from 4 to 7.

You get your choice of sides and tater tots are a yummy option. The coleslaw is crunchy and creamy and the fish is to die for, you get three big giant battered white fish filets and it's plenty for two or three depending on your appetite. The shrimp cocktail sauce reminds me of my all time favorite Pete's Fish-n-Chips sauce back home (an institution in Phoenix) now I wish Woodson's had some fried shrimp too. We will be back again next week if we don't make it to our church fish fry!

There was live music playing outside, but we chose to sit indoors that day. The hostess opened the front door right away to show us inside. My wife ordered the blackened flounder with two sides, southern green beans and the sweet potato cakes, because the server recommended it. I also went with the server's suggestions and ordered the Wagyu chicken fried steak with bacon jalapeno mac-n-cheese and jalapeno cream corn. It might not have been the healthiest choice, but I wanted to enjoy the evening. lol My wife really liked the blackened flounder. The green beans were a bit more overcooked than she liked, though. The chicken fried steak was outstanding and very tender. I liked that the delicious gravy came on the side so the steak stayed crispy. The sides were also outstanding. The GM (Glen, sp?) came to say hello because it was our first time there. I told him everything was wonderful and that we would come back. When we left, the hostess opened the door for us again without missing a beat. Great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere.

For the price, I expected something significantly better. Charging $14 for a slice of cake that tastes this average feels like a complete ripoff. I left disappointed and frustrated with the purchase and will not be returning. To make matters worse, they don't even accept tap-to-pay or Apple Pay. In 2026, that's an unnecessary inconvenience and shows a lack of investment in the customer experience. Between the overpriced, mediocre dessert and the outdated payment options, this was a thoroughly disappointing visit.
