It's a wonderful jumble of little dealer spaces absolutely stacked with stuff. Most of it isn't my thing, which is actually part of the fun. I'm not looking for an antique. I wander around until something jumps out at me and says, "TAKE ME HOME." Every time I've answered the call, we've ended up with something that has become a family heirloom. The prices are remarkably reasonable, especially for Marin. There are currently two lamps I've been keeping an eye on that are a little more dinero than I want to spend right now. If they're still there next month, however, we may need to have a conversation. What I especially love is the complete absence of sales pressure. The people behind the counter have always been genuinely kind. Nobody follows you around, nobody tries to sell you something, and nobody seems remotely bothered if you spend ages looking and leave empty-handed. They just let you linger and discover things. Half the time we find something wonderful that we absolutely HAVE TO TAKE HOME. And half the time we don't. Either way, we leave saying some version of the same thing: "How is THIS in Novato?" If you like old things, strange things, beautiful things, things you didn't know you needed until five seconds ago--or just the pleasure of poking around without anyone trying to separate you from your wallet--go have a look. I love the selection, have found fun toys for my daughter when she was young and re-donated when she grew out of them. I have found some great cookware i.e., Corning Ware pieces, small kitchen appliances throughout the years. The staff is very friendly and accomodating.
