I generally don't have a lot of luck at thrift stores or consignment stores, but I was walking around Fairfax after a chiropractor's appointment and stopped by Lola's. As another reviewer stated, the items are very well curated. Yes, it's consignment so it's catch as catch can, but I can't remember the last time I went into either a thrift or consignment store and bought more than one item, if I bought anything at all. With Lola's it's a different story, I ended up putting items back because I was having too much fun, but didn't want to buy too many things -I only have a finite amount of space after all. I will definitely be back anytime I happen to be in the Fairfax area, which unfortunately is not that often. read more

Lola's Depot is a funky consignment shop with second hand items that range from clothing and accessories to books and toys to glass and jewelry items. There's so much to look at. It's deceptively larger on the inside than it seems from the street. If I had more time I would have loved to browse more closely their book and clothing section. Where else can you shop for crystal spheres and also find a stuffed baby Animal from Muppet Babies? It's a fun shop and not to be missed when wandering around Fairfax! read more

Lola's is so fun to browse, and I almost always find some little treasure that I must bring away with me. Great sell selection of funky clothes, shoes and boots. If you like thrifting, you will live Lola's. It's not for Chesapeake. But she's done a great job curating only the good stuff! I wandered into Lolas, as it seemed to be one of the only thrift/vintage stores open on a Sunday in Marin. Yelp reviews were intriguing, so what the hey! While I did not find it to be exactly what I expect in a vintage type store, they did carry some very nice amethyst and other decor style minerals and stones. I showed up to Lola's desperate on Friday evening before the Saturday evening Edwardian Ball with nothing to wear. I felt like Cinderella with a Fairy Godmother as Noel (and all of the lovely people of Fairfax that were also in the store) helped me pull together a fabulous outfit for this funky ball. This is my new favorite store. There is a random quality to the inspired variety of vintage clothing, books and toys the owner has assembled here. Something about it reminds me of The Unknown Museum as its a place too easy to get lost in exploring so I only go in when I have time to enjoy myself. Invariably I leave with something very cool having paid far less than I thought I should. There is a cool selection of rare and rather esoteric comic books as well as many other "geeky" treasures that demand spending some time looking around for whatever may tickle your fancy. read more

I just want to counteract the negative review that another reviewer wrote about the "feminist signs" that the owner decided to post in the window. I am proud to shop in a store that is loud and proud about being feminist. I love this store even more now. The owner has always been kind and helpful when I've shopped there and her selection and prices are both fantastic. And by the way, women can love AND be part of the resistance. This is a wonderful treasure trove of a shop. I started shopping here about 6 months ago and now most of my favorite clothing and accessories are from here. As a grown man, I feel it can be hard to find fashionable, interesting clothing, and a lot of the little boutiques and nice consignment shops in the area cater exclusively to women. The owner of Lola's however makes a special effort to stock fashionable men's items, and she is super helpful and kind to boot. I make sure now to stop in once a month or so to see what new treasures have materialized. read more

The reason this is five stars for me is the SUPERB taste reflected in the merchandise, and the low prices for true treasures...If a martian landed on Earth, her eyes popping at the color and texture and variety of our wealth and the oddness of pop culture, she might be the mastermind behind Lola's. Discovering excellent-condition, NICE vintage accessories in the $5-10 range is a thrill: really just above yard sale prices, and the whole store is arranged with such precision! Like being in a touch-allowed museum... So fun to select $2 toys and dolls in perfect condition; a smashing small sized wool EMERALD green dress from about 1963 (tags in tact) is one many cool dresses, coats, etc under $20....and blouses with good labels (not vintage) are also $5-$10. Relics and sacred objects from around the globe coexist with a few handmade dolls by the owner herself, totem-like, they hang high above one's head with larger game like a giant stuffed turtle and an owl-shaped wicker planter.
