Wise Choice uses a platform for selecting materials and so forth that was great in theory, rather questionable in practice, and our wires got crossed more than a few times. The time issue was simply that the projects took a bit longer than we'd planned. The time problem though was at least partly our fault (changing our minds about design, etc), and that was compounded by suppliers actually sending the wrong product on occasion, so certainly not all a Wise Choice issue. Other than that, they were great to work with, very pleasant people all around, very conscientious (cleaning up work spaces thoroughly every day), and the entire project came in under budget! We will definitely reach out to them again for our next remodel.

We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. We love the results, and several people have commented that the addition looks like it should have been there all along. We can't recommend Wise Choice highly enough!

We hired Pacific Exteriors last year to paint the exterior of our home and repair some siding. I've…read moreactually been putting off writing this review because I was so frustrated by the experience that I didn't really want to revisit it. Now, a year and $20,000+ later, I've probably willingly forgotten some of the most frustrating details, but unfortunately the issues we're continuing to find with the finished product finally prompted me to write it. The initial consultation and sales process were great, and I also really liked the color consultation service they partnered with, which allowed us to digitally visualize different options on our home. That said, because part of our exterior is vinyl, we were limited to vinyl-safe colors, and the designer wasn't up to date on which colors or paint lines qualified, so that part wasn't quite as helpful as it could have been. I will also give Pacific Exteriors credit for being very patient with me while I chose colors and even changed my mind a few times before the paint was purchased. Once the actual project started, though, things became pretty disorganized. What was supposed to be, if I remember correctly, roughly a two-week project ended up stretching over more than two months. We tried to be very understanding because we know exterior work involves weather, crews, materials and a lot of moving pieces. But this is also what a large, established company does every day, and we felt there should have been a much better system for managing the project and communicating with us. The biggest frustration was that communication was almost entirely reactive rather than proactive. As the project stretched on, we regularly had to reach out ourselves to ask when crews would be returning, what the schedule was, and when the work would actually be completed. Updates generally weren't provided unless we asked for them. There were days crews showed up when we weren't expecting them, and other days or weekends when we were specifically told they would be working, so we rearranged or canceled plans to stay out of their way, only for no one to show up and no one to communicate the change. There were also many mornings when trucks would arrive around 8 or 9, disappear, and then work wouldn't actually begin until around noon. We were genuinely patient about delays and understood that schedules change. What became difficult to excuse was being repeatedly left wondering whether anyone was coming and having to continually follow up ourselves for basic information about a project that had already gone weeks beyond its expected timeline. Unfortunately, the workmanship has also been disappointing over time. During the project, we had to walk through multiple times and point out areas that needed more attention or touch-ups. Within a few months, we already had some peeling. Now, about a year later, we're finding areas where the old paint is visible through the new paint, making it clear those spots weren't adequately prepped or covered. Most concerning, we've also discovered areas where entire strips of blue painter's tape were simply painted over. Those strips are now surfacing and peeling away with the paint. Before leaving this review, I reached back out to Pacific Exteriors to give them the opportunity to come take a look at these issues and correct them. Unfortunately, I received no response. Given how much we spent and how recently the work was completed, I would have at least expected an acknowledgment and an opportunity to discuss the problems we're seeing. I recognize that our experience may not be representative of every Pacific Exteriors project, especially given the number of positive reviews they have. That's part of why we gave them so much patience throughout the process and why I've hesitated to leave this review. But looking back, these weren't just occasional scheduling hiccups or a missed touch-up. A project we expected to take around two weeks stretched beyond two months, with us repeatedly having to initiate communication just to understand what was happening. For a $20,000+ exterior project, the communication, project management, preparation and attention to detail simply weren't what we expected from a company of this size and reputation. And now, only a year later, seeing peeling, inadequate coverage and other workmanship issues, and receiving no response when we've asked them to address those concerns, has made the overall experience even more disappointing.

Review We had a…read moresection of rotten siding and a sill plate uncovered that was supporting our garage wall and potentially posed a structural concern, since the wall was also retaining part of the roof. The Rot Doctor did an excellent job from start to finish. They carefully removed the rotten siding, boards, and supports while temporarily supporting the wall, then installed a new pressure-treated sill, water-resistant siding, flashing, and belly band, with everything properly caulked and sealed. The workmanship was very high quality. All the cuts were precise, with clean lines, no gaps, and everything felt sturdy and well-built. They also went above and beyond by replacing and reinforcing some warped supports that weren't originally part of the scope. They were experienced and clearly knew how to approach the job, and they were great to work with throughout. Communication and customer service were excellent--we were able to discuss the work as it progressed and adjust the scope when needed. They were punctual, worked efficiently, and completed the entire job in just three days. The pricing was also competitive. Overall, we're very satisfied with the work and would definitely recommend The Rot Doctor.
