You get what you pay for. Great price for lunch. Went with my friend on a Thursday afternoon. Staff was very nice and the food came quickly. The bento boxes came with a soup and salad. The fish was fresh and taste was ok but portions were small. All in all Decent for the price.

Lola Sushi is my favourite local restaurant in the leaside area! The staff are super kind and helpful with a smile on their face. The sushis come in large portions and the salmon sashima always tastes incredibly fresh Get a lot of bang for your buck!

While browsing BlogTO earlier this week, Lola was on the list as one of the top 30 sushi spots in Toronto. Since I was in the hood, I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the Lola Bento which comes with 7 pieces of sashimi, 4 sushi, tempura, rice, salad and miso soup. Because I ordered it for dinner, it cost $1.00 more compared to lunch. When I unbox the take out upon getting home, the tempura portion is huge! I got 2 pieces of shrimp, 2 pieces of yam and 1 piece of broccoli tempura. There's a total of 2 pieces of sushi, two pieces of yam tempura and 2 pieces of cucumber. It was actually a lot of food! I couldn't finish the entire bento, I still have the rice and the sashimi left. I plan put it together as a mini chirashi and finish it later. I'm look forward to try their other rolls next next time.

First time at Lola Sushi and I ordered California & salmon roll. It was good but the portion was on the smaller side, compared to the other sushi restaurants in the vicinity. Was able to pick up quickly but overall service and cleanliness was alright. Seeing great reviews, would give another try!

I gave this place 5 stars for the price vs service and taste i had during my experience. First time to try this place, and i will come back for sure to try other menu items, or even repeat the sushi experience. The place is clean and tidy, the stuff are welcoming. The price is reasonable for the order and the amount of seafood presented. We had combo A, which is perfect for 2 persons, contained 30 pcs with good variety, 14 sushi and 6 maki, and 10 sashimi. The dish is delicious, the rice was cooked perfectly, sticky but not overdone. And the fish tasted fresh. The waitress brought 2 side salad and 2 miso soup on the house, the salad dressing is delicious, while the miso soup was light but freshly made. I would recommend you to give it a try, as myself will go and try other Korean menu items.

I've been coming to Lola Sushi for a few years now--it's still my favourite spot in Midtown for an affordable, tasty meal in an unpretentious setting. My go-to is the Super Bento ($11.95) - which includes sushi, sashimi, tempura, and 4 veggie rolls, along with a salad and miso soup. Seriously, you can't really go wrong with this - you get 3 types of fish plus shrimp, deep fried goodness from the tempura, and variation in texture. I've also tried their special rolls and they're good - I love Dynamite Roll and Black Dragon Roll ($8-9.95). Their appetizers are cheap and hit the spot - $3.50 for 6 piece gyoza and veggie tempura for $3.00. The sushi pizza ($7) is worth a try if you want something new. Their bibimbap w spicy chicken ($9.95) is generous with the meat compared to others I've tried. They've got a couple Japanese beers on offer in can/bottle. It's cozy and clean inside and they play jazz music. The service is super friendly every single time. If you're looking for some fancy trendy place you better head to some overpriced joint -- but if you want reliably awesome and affordable sushi in a cozy laid-back atmosphere then def give Lola a try.

Please service with smile Tasty sushi with lots of variety on the menu I ordered a platter, was decent size for price. Dined in and environment was clean.

Great prices with good variety. Went here in the evening on a weekday as a party of 3. The restaurant it self is quite small but I think the decor really makes it seem quite cozy. I ordered the super bento combo which came with sashimi, sushi, and tempura. Which I think with the addition of $2 for dinner was $14? Very reasonable. The fish was a bit hit or miss. I find it very difficult to find good tuna here in the city, at least at these price points, but the salmon was generally ok. Some pieces were better than others. The tempura however in my opinion was battered too much. While the outside was crispy, the inner layer was still a bit soft. Overall, for the variety you get it's a great deal but you get what you pay for in terms of quality.

Chirashi bowl: good Galbi: good, but needs more marinade Dolsot bibimbap: average, sauce is too sweet and not spicy enough Nothing was done wrong, but nothing was extraordinary.

It's my go-to spot to get my don fix - I love the wide variety of dons (rice bowls) that they offer with various fish and seafood combinations. There are also unique appetizers in the menu, such as Purple Yam Croquettes, Crab Crackers, Braised Bamboo Shoots with Shirasu (immature whitebait fish), and Takowasa (marinated raw octopus pieces, to be eaten with or wrapped in nori / seaweed). Although the dons are the main highlight of their menu (hence the restaurant name), they also offer traditional sushi, sashimi, sushi rolls and sets (similar to other Japanese sushi restaurants). Miso Aburi Scallops were very flavourful - nicely torched, giving the scallops a nice grill / char taste. They came with red and green seaweed, and a bit of fish roe. Large Premium Hana Don contained a good amount of fish and seafood, including a whole abalone, uni, shrimp in the shell, aburi salmon, ikura (salmon roe), salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, other various fish sashimi, tamago (egg), and a few slices of cucumber on a generous bed of rice. I liked that the rice was a mix of white rice and some type of dark-coloured grains. Unatama Don came with a big piece of unagi and tamago (egg) that were both excellent. The sashimi were all fresh. Okonomiyaki was disappointing but it was sort of expected... for only $9, it was about 99% just flour pan-fried in a patty, without any substantial fillings (unlike real okonomiyaki, which usually contains protein / seafood, cabbage, eggs, and other ingredients). Location is super convenient near Bay & Dundas, ambiance is very casual, and service is quick.

The fishes were plated very pretty and because it's sushi of course it tasted good. But I was surprised at the level of wasabi that was plated. Cleared up my sinuses for 30 seconds. The establishment is very clean and bright and a great place to head to if you're in a rush.

The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. The menu is set up to where you pick the entree and then what type of protein you want out of pork loin, chicken, fish, cheese, and sweet potato cheese. I settled on the sweet chili katsu. A piece of chicken arrived on a plate accompanied with rice and shredded cabbage. The chicken was breaded in a light panko like crumb and was half covered in the sweet chili sauce. I ate a couple of pieces and the crisp texture and flavor was wonderful. I had a bite of rice and when I got to the cabbage to my dismay I found a long piece of hair in it. I immediately lost my appetite and all I could think about was how great the two bites of chicken was. I gave up the plate and showed the staff what I found. They offered another plate a couple of times and after I declined a refund was issued. Katsuya. sucks for serving me one of the best pieces of breaded chicken in my life with hair in the food. I'm struggling to hold back the tears now as I write. I did get to try the parmesan fries which were ok. I also tasted the udon which is not one of their stronger dishes. This probably would have been five stars had it not been for the hair. I know this happens on the rare occasion but probably shouldn't if hair nets are worn. If you do try out this place, expect great katsuya.
