The menu says it's "three layers of soft genoise and chocolate mousse". I'm not a cake person and I'm not even going to pretend to know what genoise is.. but I also do not care because it was great lol. It was a small cake, not too dense, but definitely decadent. I'm glad it was as small as it was because it was definitely for the sweet tooths out there. I actually thought it didn't sound as sweet as some of the other flavours, like cotton candy, but I have a feeling they're all pretty sweet. There wasn't much of a description of the cake on the menu. The box said "milk chocolate", though I thought it tasted more like dark, especially with the dark chocolate drizzle on top and all of the brownie chunks. I wish they would've put the graham crackers in the middle or as a base as well, instead of just on top. I only had one piece, but my husband had the rest and tried to hold himself back from eating it all in one sitting, saying, "I could eat this all right now" haha! He may or may not have also eaten it for breakfast the next day. But hey, who am I to judge?

Though they're located on a corner lot of a busy street, it's still a pretty unassuming little building. I definitely spotted the graffiti first before the Mimi's sign. One side of the small building is graffiti for Mimi's and the other side is for the Burgers on Bridge food truck right next door, both by local artist Falldowng. There's really just room for one or two people max to step inside the building to order at the counter, while other people wait outside. It wasn't very busy on a weekday just after lunch, but there weren't too many donuts left. They specialize in gourmet yeast donuts. We ordered cinnamon sugar, cookie monster, lemon meringue, Mexican hot chocolate, cannoli, and explosive chocolate peanut butter. I was expecting more pronounced flavours, more of a pop, especially in the Mexican hot chocolate and "explosive" chocolate peanut butter donuts. I think the lemon meringue was the most flavourful because of the tart lemon filling, but I liked the cannoli the best because of the cannoli filling with mini chocolate chips. They had a notice to customers that said their prices recently went up. Not sure what they were before, since this was my first time visiting, but we paid $20 even for a half a dozen yeast donuts. They also serve ice cream scoops, sundaes, milkshakes, coffees, and DavidsTea. The ice cream is from Central Smith Creamery. I also got a large cookie dough milkshake and a cinnamon sugar donut. You can get a milkshake with any of the ice cream flavours they have available. The cookie dough was good, more tame, which I thought was great for a milkshake, but I wish I had a bit of a bigger straw to suck up the mini chocolate chips. The donut was a classic, not too thick and not too airy. I'm not a big cake person, so we didn't order any of the cake donuts, but they did have a few available (s'mores, double chocolate, chocolate dip, and vanilla dip). They have a few small tables and chairs outside for groups of 2, a large parking lot, and a ramp for accessibility.

Christine, the shop owner, was warm and welcoming right from when we entered her shop. Lollies and Scoops has sooo many different options of treats, both salty and sweet as well as international ones! At the front of the shop, there is a freezer with some frozen treats like Neale's Sweet n' Nice Ice Cream ($3ish, made out of Toronto with yummy Caribbean flavours to choose from). There is also a cold display case housing edible cookie dough (around $5) and some international drinks! Yummm! We picked up a Reese flavoured cookie dough one to try and two drinks. The shop has different categories labelled on the walls to help guide shoppers, such as Old School, International, Salty, etc. There are also fun stuffies, socks, earrings, etc. making this place a whimsical gift shop in addition to being a sweets shop. Christine mentioned that they will be scooping ice cream too come the summertime. I can see that being very successful with the locals as well as tourists. This time, I ordered the bear claw and the caramel coconut crunch, which didn't disappoint. The taste and unique flavors are off the charts here. The price is on point, very fair for the size they give. The single was two scoops for $5.75, and they even sell chocolate goods and waffle cones. For me to come back so soon and want more speaks for itself! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because seating is very limited. There are a few chairs in the front, and most people are eating and chatting near their cars or in the lot. I touched grass and watched the sunset--perfecto!

As I…read morewas waiting the lady came over and advised me that they didn't have enough ingredients for a full order of Manto, so they could make me a half order of Manto and a half order of Ashak. I was fine with that, especially since it would allow me to try two different types of dumplings, lol. I really enjoyed them! Although my order wasn't quite half of each, as I got 3 Manto and 5 Ashak. The Manto are dumplings with ground meat inside. The Ashak are dumplings with leeks inside. Both dumplings had the same wrapper, which was thin and had a nice texture. The ground meat was well seasoned. The leeks were soft and mild in flavour. Overall I enjoyed them both, but liked the Manto better. I loved the creamy sauce they were in and the sprinkling of split peas over the Mantoo. I also got a tiny piece of lean meat thrown into the container. Although I got takeout, I did sit in the restaurant to wait for my food. The restaurant is really pretty inside. There were no other customers dining there at 8:45pm, but there was a steady stream of Uber and Skip the Dishes drivers picking up food. I will be back for more Manto and to try their other dishes. The restaurant is in a strip mall with lots of free parking.
