Went with my grandmother yesterday and all I can say is wow this place has upgraded over the years. Top notch staff always willing to answer your questions and provide educational resources to help save Turtles and other marine life. You will find people of all backgrounds and ages here learning about turtles, mangroves, coral reefs and more. The value can't be beat as the center is free admission, they have multiple locations where you can make donations to help the center continue to rescue the majestic turtles and they have a cooler outside where you can bring abandoned/injured turtles for care. The exhibits are amazing and bring great awareness that is easy for all to understand. You can view the hospital area through windows or see the rehabbing turtles in their own unique tanks with a brief history on the animal and why they're there at the center. The gift shop is also amazing as most of the merchandise is linked to one of many marine charities that help preserve the oceans and mangroves. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in and enjoy the walk through. You can also take an audio guided tour at the center that will give you history on the animal and or exhibit you're viewing. They have interactive classrooms for homeschooling, school trips and more. You can join their membership program to help the center continue doing the great things they provide. It's miles better than the Seaquarium in Miami which is an utter disaster and is the opposite of educational and treating animals well. This place does such good work to rehabilitate sea turtles and educate the public about them! It is a great place to take your kids to see the turtles and learn about the ocean, or it is a fun visit as an adult as well. Having come here off and on over the years since I was a child, it is nice to see how donations have allowed them to really spruce up the place and add more educational tanks and exhibits as well as update their medical facilities. Try to donate what you can and have fun! This place will put a smile on your face for a good ecological cause. read more

We couldn't love this place more. We have been dozens of times and this visit we did the hatchling recovery and release and it was amazing. The facility is accessible and beautiful. It's free but they do ask for a donation, any increment! You can see turtles on the hospital, ICU and the tanks, even babies! Then go inside for an interactive activity and to learn more. Such a cool experience with educated staff providing great work to our environment! The front desk was very informative and while entry is free, they do ask for a donation that we more than willing to give. Outside they have the turtles in tanks and a staff member that gives you detailed information about each one that is there. We were able to see babies only a couple weeks old to big Sandy who was an adult turtle. There was also an aquarium with sharks and fish. Inside featured a tank with jellyfish, seahorses, and lionfish. They do have a cafe and gift shop as well. We will definitely be returning! read more

Sea turtles are my favorite animal, so this was a no brainer place to visit! Completely free admission, excepting donations and run by volunteers. Absolutely beautiful exhibit, and you can tell the people working here love taking care of the turtles who are currently in rehabilitation before being released back into the wild. The place was incredibly clean, and a great spot to checkout with children also! They have a small inside exhibit in the AC to cool off, and learn about how trash in our oceans really make a negative impact. You will be educated about the sea turtles and you will see all different kinds of them. This is a rehabilitation center where they heal the turtles and then release them back into the wild. FREE. They have turtles, sharks, fish, jelly fish and sea horses! When you walk in you can stop at the front desk and they will give you a quick overview. As you walk through the doors, you see individual pools for the turtles. They have volunteers who can tell you about each turtles rehabilitation story. When we went there were 3 total. Make sure you go inside to see the jelly fish and sea horses. There is also a great gift shop! Parking - ample free parking. We ended up in a lot just a short walk from the entrance. read more

The mission of LMC is a worthy one but we were also quite impressed by the attention given to events, gift shop items, the hospital facility, displays, docents, etc. Everything is very well done. The highlight of my vacation! On our last day in FL, my husband and I decided to take a visit here. It is actually completely free to visit, view the aquariums and the turtle tanks. We chose to purchase tickets for a guided tour which was totally worth it. The guide taught us a lot about the mission and work of the center and provided a-lot of background on the turtles and their rehabilitation process. They even give you a headphone for one ear so you can hear your tour guide better. Lots of great information and our tour guide, Scott, was amazing! Loved his energy and delivery. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours - viewing turtles, preciously injured or ill, that are being well-cared for and rehabilitated to be released back into the water. Friendly and knowledgeable staff welcomed us and answered our questions. We were immersed in a compelling part of nature and learned a lot. We walked through the marine center ourselves but there are also guided tours that are well worth the money. Highly recommend a visit! read more

They have multiple tanks with turtles that are being treated for various issues, but even if they don't have any turtles at the center, they have multiple fish tanks and tanks inside with jellyfish, seahorses and other smaller critters so you will see aquatic life whenever you visit along with learning opportunities. read more

The staff were full of fun facts, and interactive not only was it a beautiful site, but absolutely amazing to see this animals taken care of. I value their work, and the facility clearly represented the centers philosophy. The service was very attentive to any request and had all hands on deck. This was a great stop for me and our Framily! The 2 adults and 4 kids (17,14,11,10) all found things to enjoy. The flow of the facility was easy and informative. The love for the turtles was apparent and knowledge was offered by all staff. I just love this place and everything they do for the turtles. They rescue injured sea turtles and nurse them back to health. Many of these beautiful creatures are found injured because of boat motors, plastic bags, plastic bottles and fishing line. The marine center provides lots of education for the public , so have learned something new each time. One of the truly coolest things ever is to see these huge creatures in their big tanks being taken care of. In a month or so the whole new construction project will become unveiled to bring an even bigger and better marine center! I've been to Loggerhead twice...once in 2018 and now in 2024. They did an expansion since my first visit and it's even better now. Admission is free for self-guided tours, but donations are appreciated. We opted for the public guided tour, which costs $20 per person. Purchasing the tickets for the public tour was easy online. The tour is approximately 1 hour and our tour guide was fantastic. She provided detailed information about the different sea turtles, history of the center, and specifics about the turtle patients in the outdoor tanks. The facility is state of the art, including an on-site turtle hospital, where you can watch the turtles receiving care through a window. The gift shop is hands down the nicest gift shop I've ever visited. They carry quality merchandise, including home decor, apparel, gifts, greeting cards, and so much more. We didn't eat at the Tortuga Cafe, but the menu had sandwiches, hot dogs, and other snacks. The entire facility is spotless. Parking was tough. We had to circle for a few minutes and wait for people to leave in order to get a parking spot. The volunteers were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend visiting Loggerhead if you're in the area. read more

We attended a hatchling event, and my grandson thoroughly enjoyed the time that was spent listening to the book that was being read and meeting Pip. We arrived late, but we're given an escort to the meeting area by a volunteer who was very very helpful. The only complaint we had was that we had to park behind the building. There is no entrance on the backside of the building for us to enter. We were forced to walk all the way around to the front, which is quite a long walk for those of us, with handicap or limited mobility. read more

Turtle Sanctuary Well, to be fair, I did not check the website before going there - and apparently neither did the many, many other people I saw walking in, but if we **had**, we would have known that there were no turtles. Zero Nada Nilch So - not much to review other than if you are looking for a bunch of large, round pools of water, in which to observe your reflection, this place might be for you. We loved our tour that was about an hour long, we learned so much about what the center does for our sea turtles and wildlife on the florida coast. we got to see lots of turtles up close and personal including some of the babies that we going to be released that night! What a lovely place to visit! Some friends and I visited two times in the past month and boy this place has greatly improved. All of the new construction is complete. They have added some new turtle tanks as well as an area to view jellyfish and even seahorses! The hospital viewing area is also a great addition! Tickets are free and downloadable from the website. Very educational baby turtle release program. Wasn't prepared for the slide show first but it was helpful to learn more about the sea turtle protection efforts. All attendees were provided with night viewing scope so you could see the baby turtles as they made their way into the ocean. Great knowledge of volunteers and staff. Bucket list item! read more

We love loggerhead so much ! My only star taken away is because we use to be closer to animals and now since they made the fences so high and the pool kids under 5 cannot see the animals and they yell at them if they stand on the fences . Maybe maybe some kind of standing area for their age with a step stool like spot ? I miss that we could get so close before without anyone yelling . But there's some amazing additions like a water play area and mini jungle gym . The animals seem to be doing well and the staff cares! Wish there was more local art in the gift shop and not stuff we can buy off Amazon . I did get some really cool turtle sweaters for my niece and nephew ! read more

Loggerhead is an ocean lover's paradise. I have visited many times to see the turtles and hear their rehabilitation stories. This was the first morning I took a yoga class on their sky deck and it was truly amazing. The view of the ocean and the sunrise made for a picture perfect morning. I also saw the turtle tanks from up above and all the sea creatures were so active in the morning. Can't wait to go back and see what's new as the renovations continue. read more

Cool rehab center for turtles. They have free entry, but collect donations at the lobby. The back center has the turtles in pools that are recovering from starvation or boat accidents. They had a small museum in the front with a few fish in the front and a nice gift shop that has some high end products. It's pricey but you assume the profits go toward rehabilitation of the turtles. They have limited parking in the front and more parking up the hill and a convenient 15 minute drop off at the front. You can take a tour in the back to learn more about the turtles and see them up close. Otherwise you have to peer at them from behind the ropes which is harder to see. The volunteers are friendly and can answer any questions you have. read more

There is a tent covering nine tanks with a raised walkway, but the turtles are tough to see.There are a lot of fundraising machines but not a lot to do.
