There were zero manatees here today but we watched the immersive video and learned so much about manatees. Please don't speed with your boats and hurt these beautiful manatees. They deserve to have some peace too.

Walking in handicap accessible . First floor restrooms. You can view a short video about manatees in one room . Some fish in a fish tank to see in lobby . Store for merchandise . View of water . Family friendly

In 2016, Florida Power and Light opened an education discovery center next to their power plant in Riviera Beach. Called the Manatee Lagoon, Manatees visit that site to enjoy the warm water discharges from the power plant. The Lagoon aims to teach the public about the importance of protecting Manatees and provides free parking, educational displays and a gift shop. The best time to visit the Lagoon is between November and March. You can see Manatees in other locations, but this spot allows you to see them in greater numbers. We saw 6 Manatee the day we went in late February and we also saw fish there, too, such as Barracuda and Needle Fish.

What a cool experience. Thanks to the power Company for creating a great little haven for these amazing animals. A great educational section in the building as well. And it's free!!! Definitely worth a visit.

Depending on when you go, you can enjoy seeing a plethora of manatees at the manatee lagoon. Our latest trip there saw us observe scores of manatees. It was a manatee happening. Nature was dancing. Manatees were laughing at us while lounging in the lagoon. It was a plethora of manatees. You can watch the manatees for free. The gift shop isn't free. But you're there for the manatees. And the exhibits within the building on the first floor provides some additional insight into this wondrous creature.

This is a great find for anyone in the Jupiter area. It took less than 30 minutes to get there. There's free parking and free admission. The manatee season is November 15th through March 31st. The colder the water, the more likely the manatee go to this area of warm water provided by FPL. The volunteers we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable. In addition to seeing 3 manatee, we saw many other fish species swimming around. They have an indoor area with displays of information about manatee, their habitats, and other pertinent information as well as a nice gift shop.

This is a terrific spot to view Manatees live. They love the warm water coming from the power plant next door. The semi panoramic upper & lower level decks allow for many visitors to view. Inside they have tons of educational information on manatees, turtles & sea life in general. Outside they had staff members to answer questions and narrate about the manatee It's such a treat seeing the baby manatee swimming next to their momma manatee. Plenty of free parking available (2lots) This is a seasonal event so check the schedule.

On cooler days, manatees come to Manatee Lagoon to warm up. Quite a great thing to see. We saw so many manatees (lots of moms and babies). Inside you can learn all about manatees and other local marine wildlife. Worth the visit.

A+ for Riviera Beach! Manatee Lagoon offers a serene escape from the bustle of South Florida. As the cool winter air settles over the Lake Worth Lagoon, here, you can find a place where time seems to slow down and graceful manatees as they bask in the warm-water outflows. There is calmness in seeing dozens of manatees huddled together, but beyond the wildlife, the panoramic views of the turquoise water and the silhouette of Peanut Island create a beautiful backdrop for the harmony between the energy plant and nature. * Prime Time: Visit on chilly mornings, when air temperatures drop below 65°F; this is when the most manatees gather for warmth. * The View: Head to the upper observation deck for a sweeping view of the lagoon, or the lower level to get a closer look at the water's edge. Since admission and parking are free, it's an easy spot for a quick mental reset and great photography.

Although we did not see any manatees today, it was such a fun experience. For the moment we stepped inside, were greeted by a very friendly attendant, who explained where everything was. First, we checked out the educational classroom. This was great to build a grasp and understanding of manatees, who they are, how long they've been part of history of this earth , the difficulties which they faith day-to-day and why it's important to keep something safe. The center does a great job at balancing illustrations and educational material to engage the audience. There is a viewing tower at the top, but today we did not see any. And when I came a couple years ago, you could see a head above up every now and then, but it was so far that it's hard to see. It left me wishing that they had a viewing deck on the lower level where you could look through a glass under the water below. Maybe someday! Glad we stopped by as we were in the area, but might not make an entire drive for a day out here . However, there is a beautiful waterfront area and park, which could be nice to spend time at when you come visit as it has great views of the marina. There's a wonderfully curated gift shop and I recommend checking out. It's difficult to come and not buy something because they have so many different cute sea life options in the boutique.

So many manatees and lots of fish and birds. I did go on a crowded day, with a few school groups there, but managed to find spots outside to view the manatees. Due to the crowds, it was difficult to read all the exhibits, but it was a fun, interesting day

We had a great morning visiting the Manatee Lagoon in WPB. About 60-70 of them around the visitor center! The best time to see them is January or February when the morning temperatures are in the 50s or 60s... Calming and serene ! The parking and the visit are both FREE. The visitor center has lots of information on the manatees and the fauna and flora of the area. They had some small aquarium displays with Lion fish and other fun species.
