Panther Ridge Conservation Center is an absolute must-visit if you love animals, conservation, and…read moremeaningful experiences. This nonprofit 501(c)(3) sanctuary is doing incredible work rescuing and caring for exotic big cats, and you can feel the dedication the moment you arrive. The animals are clearly deeply cared for, and every enclosure reflects respect, enrichment, and attention to their wellbeing. The tour is both fascinating and eye-opening. It's not just about seeing beautiful cats up close (which is amazing in itself)--it's about learning their stories, and seeing firsthand what ethical sanctuary care looks like. Thank you Judy for an amazing tour! The staff are knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely committed to the mission. What really stands out is how transparent and mission-driven everything is. Donations go directly toward animal care, and there's even a wish list if you want to contribute in a more hands-on way. Bottom line: this is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. Educational, inspiring, and absolutely worth supporting. -

We had no issue finding the location, just know that you are to park along the road next to the fence. They will come open the gate to greet you are your appointment time. The restrooms are halfway through the tour, so go before if you can. It was just four of us on the tour, my husband and I and another couple. You get walked through their grounds, escorted by staff as they feed the cats. Some are hand fed, some with tongs. You are kept behind the perimeter fence(mostly 3-4ft behind the cage), understandable with children to prevent fingers from entering chomp territory. By attending on a hot day mid May I'd say we saw 60-70% of the cats up close by the fence, some of them were not interested in coming out of their cool spots with their fans blowing on them - completely understandable. In fact, if going on a hot sunny day, wear sunscreen and prepare to be in a lot of direct sunlight. I was not prepared and got burnt. For $50/person this tour is so worth it. We had so much fun and our guide did a terrific job sharing her knowledge of the cats and all the fun facts. She said she was fairly new, but you could tell the cats already trusted her. As adults my husband and I had an amazing time, I can't even imagine how much kids would love this place. The gift shop was great too, we made sure to get our souvenirs including tshirts and hats. Come support this wonderful NPO - not only do that have great tours but you can tell these cats are incredibly healthy and very loved. Their cages were so unbelievably clean I was so impressed.

The staff is always so nice and greet you when you walk in and the admission is FREE unless you'd like to make a donation which is greatly appreciated and helps the local turtles and sea life. Kids will have a great time! They even have a children's play area on the upper deck. Very interactive! The outside area is shaded with canopy's and has many tanks filled with turtles, sharks, fish, and stingrays. It's amazing to see and get up close with the beautiful creatures God has created. They have guided tours and there are many volunteers near the tanks to answer all your questions. Very nice, dedicated crew. My favorite is the gift shop. It has a bit of everything you could want and makes a perfect place to get gifts and souvenirs for your family, friends, and yourself. I got a beautiful necklace, a beautiful collar and leash for my puppy back home, and a postcard for my friend. Everything is priced really fairly and it is a donation to help the turtles at the marine life center. I would recommend getting there early or when they open. Parking is HORRENDOUS. It always is usually especially with spring break. You might be waiting awhile for a parking spot. If you see someone starting to leave or backing out wait behind them and give them room to back out and then pull in to their spot. Parking is the only thing that's stressful but you can eventually get a spot. This is a must visit place for the whole family. I love Loggerhead!

The entire event was set up neatly, and you could tell how much care and effort went into making it special. The volunteers and staff were incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. They took the time to explain the different species of sea turtles and shared so much interesting information in a way that was easy for both adults and kids to understand. It was not only fun, but also a wonderful learning experience. The festival itself was fantastic. There was live entertainment on stage, many vendors to explore, and even free rides, which my kids absolutely loved. The setting alongside the ocean, with the clear blue water, made the whole experience even more beautiful. I also appreciated the hydration stations with free water--it showed how thoughtful and well-planned the event was.

We came prepared, filled out the application honestly, and foolishly thought that would help. Cute, right? We listed our current pets two cats and two birds. Our application was denied because we didn't list my dog who passed away years ago. Apparently, even your dead pets need to be "up to date" on their heartworm medication. Who knew? If only we'd brought a Ouija board to confirm her last checkup. Then came the next brilliant excuse: our application was "inconsistent" because the home we live in is owned by my grandparents. Imagine that a family living... with family. How suspicious. Clearly unfit to adopt anything more demanding than a houseplant. After a week of waiting and an hour drive, it became painfully obvious that A Second Chance Rescue doesn't actually specialize in second chances. What they do excel at is inventing new and creative ways to say no. So unless you're the absolute pinnacle of canine perfection with ghost-dog medical records in flawless order and a textbook living arrangement don't waste your time. They'll deny you and act like they've done you a favor. In the end, A Second Chance Rescue is a joke. The kind where you stop laughing halfway through because it's just sad.

Pieces I selected were in tip top condition!!! I noticed that prices are all one price now. Everything was $5.99. I was very pleased. Definitely encouraged me to pick up more. I had to tell myself no on a couple of vintage trench coats....Ma'am, where will you were those?!? ;-) Customer service was the highlight! Ahkeim answered all my questions about the color of the day discount and the new monthly membership service. Basically, pay $5.99 a month and get perks. One perk is the half off discount for the "color of the day" tags. No longer offered to everyone, you must be a member of the subscription service. So very good to know. My purchase only included one green tag and I don't deem it necessary right now to get the membership, but I can see the benefit for frequent shoppers. Ahkeim was friendly and kind. All around super great thrifting experience!
