We went for a ride to enjoy a sunny afternoon and stumbled on a great little place in literally the middle of no where. The Log Cabin Tavern is modest in outer appearance, inside is a bright, clean and very attractive interior. Stained glass accents, tables well made, bright lighting makes for a very pleasant experience. Our good was wonderful, we started with fried green beans, crispy and tasty, I tried their American burger, two delicious patties with all the toppings you might wand and fantastic fries, my wife had the Brisket Gyro, nicely seasoned, peppery with a creamy tzatziki sauce.They have a nice pizza oven and we saw several mouth watering pizzas being served, we plan on returning soon to try one, our server Emma was very nice, we recommend 100%. Upon arrival on a Saturday night at around 6:30, the parking lot was packed; however, to our surprise we were seated immediately with a quick turnaround order on our drinks. We were informed they were out of pizza and filet. A slight bummer as one of the reasons I decided to go was for the pickle bread I saw online. We ordered some cheese logs (we figured they were large gooey cheese sticks given the name "logs" but it was more of a nod to the restaurant name as they were just run of the mill cheese sticks). From there things went mediocre. Service got slower, food coming out got slower, drink refills got slower....there appeared to be some waiter issues (we had time to people watch) but couldn't exactly tell what was going on. Our waitress was extremely busy, but it didn't seem the others were. Food was ok. I had the SOB chicken wrap and my husband had chicken chunks. The wrap was good but I would probably get something different should we find ourselves there again. The chicken chunks looked tiny but my husband said they were good. Don't go unless you have time to waste,want no service and cold meals. We were there 15-20 mins before anyone came to ask about our drinks and brought us menus. We then were there 50 mins before our food came. We watched as all the tables around us were waiting for their food. If the time wasn't bad enough... They brought the food out one meal at a time. So people were done before others got served. When ours came 25 mins apart our food is was cold.. No silverware or napkins. We had to go to the bar and ask for those. We also had to find someone to pay our bill. We hadn't patronized this place because it was so bad last time. We thought after a few years maybe it had gotten better. We went to Log Cabin tonight for supper. We all 3 ordered the brisket sandwiches. They in the past were very good. Tonight they must have warmed them up too much. The brisket was dry and crunchy. Sharp and stabbed the roof of our mouths. The buns were so hard also. It was not just our table. The next table got them also and they looked just as bad! Told our waiter and he just shrugged. When you drop $100 for food and drinks, you expect better. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention .... My beer was warm, without the usual cold glass. A couple of weeks ago we tried Mexican night on a Tuesday. We each got a burrito and they used raw, sharp onions on the inside of it. We both got heartburn and we never get heartburn. The service was slow and our table of 7, the food just dribbled out. We were excited to try a new place. The interior is very nice. Very friendly greeting at the door and by our waitress. We were seated right away. It happened to be trivia night. Speakers were ridiculously loud. Out of curiosity, I pulled out my phone decibel monitor and it was recording ranging from 85db to 119db consistantly and we were at a table furthest from the speakers! The place was about 3/4 full. Busy, but not ridiculous. The waitress checked on promptly and brought us our drinks (water), but we asked for a bit more time to look at the menu. We didn't see her again for 35 minutes, when my wife crossed the room and asked her to take our order. She admitted she had forgot about us. We ordered a salad and a sandwich. No sight of our waitress for another 30 minutes. She apologized and said it was a hectic night. She came back and brought us more water, aplogized again, thanked us for our patience, told us we would be compensated for the delay and shared that a cook had quit on them that night and another had called in sick. She could not tell us how long, but when asked if it would be more than another 15 minutes, she said our food was currently being made and it would be out in less time than that. 20 minutes later, no sign of our waitress or food and so we left. The service was amazing ! Chef came out to receive feedback. Waitress shared great insight on favorites and why to choose. Chef sent out a sample of the wings.. we can see why they are favorite. Never in my life have I had to walk out of a restaurant for poor service. Went around lunch time today (around 1) and waiting about almost 10 minutes before we even got our menus. The waitress we had seemed as though she maybe new or that she didn't know the menu very well. We asked for a root beer and she said they didn't have it. Even though we could see it in the fridge. We then waited about another 15 minutes before we ordered. Never once did anyone ask if we needed anything or let us know that they were behind. My family and I patiently waited for our meals. Three other large parties recieved their meals before ours and we ordered well before. We waited for over an hour and fifteen before we asked for our bill (still never received our food). Our server never explained to us why it so late. Just said it was , " coming out shortly". My husband was trying to get ahold of someone so we could at least pay for our drinks so we can leave. Then as soon as he asks our food magically is almost done. Again no explanation or apology for why it was almost an hour and a half behind. They were taking their time trying to get our change around. Then I guess the food was being finished, gave them another five minutes before we got up and left. I have never given a review before on here. Usually I just tell the people it's the best food I've ever had or whatever. However this one is a bit different... this is my third time going to this restaurant, and it'll certainly be the last. The service was horrendous!! The place was practically empty and it still took them 10 minutes just to take our drink order, then another 20 minutes to take our food order. We only got half of our order after 30 minutes of waiting because somehow they gave our dishes to the wrong customers. Then we waited another half hour for the rest of our party's food to get to the table, and the food was awful! It's been this way the other two times we went as well. I have zero clue how the burger review guy gave them a decent review lol. I highly recommend everyone saves their time, money, and even your sanity! McDonald's would be a significantly better option. First time going happened to be Mother's Day so was pretty busy. Ambiance was casual/ sports style type atmosphere. Plenty of seating inside and huge outdoor patio area. There is even kids area. After waiting several minutes to be greeted by Waitress she apologized that they were short staffed. Was no issue with us, Was just 2 of us and sat at bar. And all 4 of us ordered from the BBQ menu when we were told there was an hour wait for pizza. Then to top it off our food was on the cold side. Nothing was hot. Cannot say enough how disappointed I was on Monday night when we ate at your restaurant. The beans in this picture may not do it real justice. When they came out it looked like they had been sitting around for a day or two and were either over cooked or old. They were hard and very, very dry. Never would I have served this to my guests. Also I get the whole idea of having a theme night where you sell Mexican food, but getting rid of your whole barbecue portion of the menu is really a poor idea. You lost a sale from my wife who only purchased a baked potato because she had come for a pulled pork sandwich that she had before. To top that off she was served a sour cream container for her baked potato that looked like it had been sitting for a while. Yes sour cream does separate, but should not look curdled. Now on a bright note the rest of our food was fine. The fish I had was done right as was my mother-in-laws steak. My daughter did not have any complaints about her burger either. So it was not a total disaster. The final thing that really got under my skin is that in the 4 years that we have come to your restaurant we have yet to try a single desert. Why you might ask? Well that would be because it is never available when we go and we have gone on different nights. Since my wife could not have a pulled pork sandwich she asked for a piece of Peanut Butter Pie and was told that there were no deserts available AGAIN. I asked my server why it is that every time that we have come in that there are never any deserts. She informed me that the General Manager only makes 1 of each pie per week and once it is all gone they do not offer it anymore. If this is the case then take it off your menu and put it on a chalk board so you simply do not upset your customers. When it is gone just remove it from the board. If I were the owners I would honestly be questioning why desert sales through the restaurant were stagnant each week. I am sure the argument is going to be that you do not sell many, but how can you build the sales of your deserts if you do not have them available. I have run restaurants as a General Manager and never did I build my sales by limiting the availability of a product. You have a great idea, but your execution is missing on some points. I felt very sorry for my waitress who has to deal with these issues. It is normally the employees who have to deal with these types of complaints if the managers are not available and something such as menu items not being available is not their fault, nor is food quality. I really hope you take this criticism and make some changes. However, at this point and time I doubt my family will return. That is a shame as you are just down the road from us and we really liked that. read more

We were out in the area and ran across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Very large inside and a huge outside patio area with a section for kids to play on the gym equipment. Low tables, high tables and an eight seat bar area with TV's. High tops and picnic tables outside with plenty of umbrellas. Ordered brisket sandwich and a chicken sandwich. Came out quickly, hot and very good! Plenty of servers here on a Friday night. Private party on the out door patio tonight and closed tomorrow for a private party so call ahead just in case. Yeah, maybe skip this place. Keep driving, whatever. We stopped in around 11:30 to a mostly empty (read: a four top and two people at the bar) restaurant . We ordered our drinks and food, no problems so far. My wife got her food surprisingly quickly. And then we sat. And sat. And sat and sat and sat. Every table that came in after us was done with their meal, and we hadn't even gotten refills yet. When we were finally able to flag down a waitress, they said they'd check on our orders. Still no drink refills. A beer in hand will go a long way towards making for a happy customer. An empty beer glass, however, makes for trouble. Especially one that's been empty for almost 45 minutes. Finally, our food shows up......cold. Apparently they don't have a heat lamp, either? We got the manager involved, who took the food off of the bill, which was cool. Then the waitress got extremely shitty with us for complaining. Also, saying "they ordered pizza, that's why it came out first" is horseshit. Frying some bologna and tossing some chips on a plate is WAY less effort than making a pizza. Go dig through my older reviews if you think I don't know what im talking about. And sure, you had a party of 40 or whatever that was about to show up. Maybe staff up for an event like that, and maybe if you just kept a beer in front of people waiting on food, and maybe if you didn't serve cold shit that's been sitting in the kitchen for a half an hour, you wouldn't have problems. read more

I've heard from some friends a lot of bad things about this place. They complain of the wait, and how the bar atmosphere has changed over into a restaurant atmosphere and that it just isn't what it used to be. However, I don't have any complaints. I ordered a burger on a pretzel bun which was amazing. I forget what it was called at the moment, but I know the menu has really cute names for all their items. For an appetizer we had mozzarella sticks and they make them with their own breaking the lady had told us and they were soooo good. It is a bar restaurant and it is my understanding that they have added on to it immensely. The inside was clean and had a homey feel to it. It was kind of expensive but worth it. This place is in the middle of nowhere... And it's amazing. I really wasn't sure what to even expect, but it was new and clean and the staff was really nice. The menu is pretty expansive. They seem to do some in house BBQ, and the glorious smell of that waifs through the dining area. I ordered the French onion soup and the steak salad. Both huge. Both out of this world. The rye bread in the glorious melty crock of soup was still a touch crisp. It was heaven. I'm still dreaming of it. The streak salad was huge, and the steak was just a tiny bit burnt, but still wonderful. It was served with this sort of relished ranch dressing, everyone at my table asked for extra, it was addicting. My only tip for this salad would be to use fresh jalapeño and not jarred. We have met friends here a couple times. The first time was a Friday evening and we were disappointed we could not get BBQ. The burgers and sandwiches we got that evening were all good so we finally made it out on a Saturday for the BBQ. I am a BBQ snob and was not disappointed. The dark meat chicken was juicy and Smokey. The ribs were tender, juicy, a flavorful dry rub, and all around delicious. The brisket could have stood for another 30-60 mind on the pit. Flavor was awesome but it did need a knife to cut. Smoked kielbasa was on point as was the pulled pork. The sides that came with the BBQ were good although probably didn't live up to the standards of the smoked meat. I can forgive that as the meat is what I was there for. They could probably use some sauce options for those inclined to need sauce for their BBQ but really the meat didn't need it. Oh also should add that our first visit we split the fried pickles (some of the best I've ever had) and the fried green bean apps. Both were home runs. The place is in the middle of nowhere but is a real gem. I hope someday they can find a pit master to not lose the quality of the BBQ, but offer it more frequently. I would probably rate this a 4.5 stars. This was our first visit and for a Tuesday night I thought it was pretty packed. I ordered the Nutty Pigs which was two boneless pork chops in a walnut sauce. For my two sides I ordered the side salad and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were waffle fries and came with a cup of cinnamon caramel sauce to dip them in. Wow! They were delicious. My chops were tender and not at all dry. My meal was great. My husband and son each got the special which was a half rack of ribs with one side. Both said that it had more "bark" on it than they usually like on their ribs, meaning they were more blackened than they like. Since it was also 50 cent wing night we got some of those, too. Both guys thought those were excellent. Our service was exceptional and our food was out very fast. All in all, a great place to eat! read more

I have been to the Log Cabin many times since it has been re-opened and at first everything was great (food and service), but now a days don't even bother to go there Thursday thru Saturday unless you are just going to sit at the bar. The wait staff is HORRIBLE! Seems to be little to no management and with even half the tables filled up you will be there for hours and have to ask for drinks, condiments, and silverware multiple times to the point where you just get up and go find them yourself. My daughter, my brother and my sister and I had a great dinner tonight. Well worth the drive from Toledo...its only 1/2 hr. The place is quite large, which is good because it was really starting to get busy as we left. They've got a huge wood fired pizza oven, which makes some delicious pizza with a crispy crust, says my daughter, an expert in cheese pizza! The burgers were good, all fresh toppings. But get the BBQ if you're hungry. It's Smokey Goodness from the gods of all things Smokey and Good. The ribs come dry, with just the rub and smoke on them and the sauce on the side. Just the way I like them. They were near perfect, just enough bite but teetering on the edge of fall-off-the-bone. The pulled pork was tasty, but unlike the ribs it came already sauced. Which was odd as it was pulled and not chopped, yet still quite tasty since the sauce was the perfect middle between savory and sweet. But the best of all was the brisket. A delicious SPG bark on the outside, and lots of meaty juicy YUMMINESS on the inside. And how did the pit master know I liked the point-end? That's the fatty-end, if you didn't know. Mmmmm...melt in your mouth brisket fat....sounds so wrong yet tastes so good. Any who, they would have got the fifth star if the food would have come out a bit faster. It wasn't really slow but it seemed like we were waiting longer than we should. But the wait staff is extremely nice, plenty of smiley happy faces. So a friend of mine took my fiance and I to The Log Cabin today and we will not be returning. It's a very nice place, nice atmosphere, and decent food, HOWEVER, the waitress we had wasn't very friendly and was terrible at her job. We asked her a little bit about the restaurant and she didn't have any answers, didn't care to find out any of the answers, and pointed out the owners at the table next to us and told us to ask them. She took our orders, messed up one of our orders, but didn't come back to our table until 10-15 minutes later to tell us. In the 2 hours of us being there she never once asked how we were doing, made any sort of small talk, and refilled our drinks after they sat empty for nearly 30 minutes. The reason we were there for 2 hours, by the way, was because it took over an hour to get our food. That's completely outrageous. Especially because it was not busy at all. I wish I was exaggerating but I promise you I wasn't. The owners sat at the table next to us and didn't take notice of how long things were taking even though their own food took a long time too. They got there a little after us and got served a little before us as well. That's not right. When our food FINALLY arrived we told the waitress we needed refills her response was "I know" and walked away. What kind of response is that? She was scarce the whole time we were there and only came around when she absolutely had to. My friend said he keeps giving the place a try, that the service has been like that since he's been going there, but doesn't know if he'll return because he's sick of it. My fiance and I talked about how it's such a cool place it would be nice to take friends and family there but we don't think it's at all worth it.
