Always been a fan of Lofty Coffee. Probably my favorite location, just because I like the vibe here. I had the iced salted Carmel latte which was heavenly and this prosciutto and cheese croissant, whoaaa my taste buds were certainly happy :) The one thing that I would suggest is to go early so you can get a good table, the place does get packed. read more

Love this place! I always get the iced vanilla latte and avocado toast. It's sometimes hard to find a place to sit during the busy hours but it's a great location and easy parking lot! read more

Oh Lofty Coffee- where to begin? The Iced Salted Caramel lattes here will literally change your life! Not only will the caffeine give you jolt of energy straight from Zeus' lightning bolt - but you will also savor the addicting salted caramel flavor as soon as it hits your tongue! Now let's talk venue. The patio is pet friendly (woof!) and the front of the shop is completely surrounded by a rectangular bar with plenty of barstools. There are larger tables in front as well as a couple hidden gems in the back! Worried about getting too much sun? Have no fear! The entire patio is shaded overhead. To top it all off, once you've been here two or three times the baristas remember you by name :) read more

Food is great, prices are a bit steep service is lovely and ambience is very chill. Definitely recommend for studying or quick coffee break

I had their version of Mexican Mocha. 5.0... Call off the dogs, the hunt is over, that was the best yet. Caliente!

The best coffee in San Diego! Lofty Coffee is everything you could want in a coffee shop: friendly service, great beachside location, (relatively) easy parking, and quality coffee. I highly recommend the iced salted caramel latte with oat milk. Lofty Coffee + Solana Beach = the perfect San Diego afternoon or pit stop along Highway 101! read more

Don't tip up front!! We ordered a salad and a sandwich. It took 23 minutes for the food to come out. The salad was wrong. I said I didn't want to wait for it to be reordered. I was refunded the money for the salad. The sandwich was on the incorrect bread. I paid $13 for a bad sandwich, $4 for an ice tea. Plus tax And $5 for a tip I should never have given $23 ridiculous. Bigger than what I thought it would be from first glance. Really good. I asked the server for her suggestion and got the cortado. Appreciated the suggestion, really hit the spot! Friendly staff and a good way to start your morning. read more

Vibe: Lofty is Encinitas in a nutshell--good looking people willing to spend money on trendy, well-sourced product. The whole place is open air, although there are seating areas. It is a place where you can sit and work, or spend time chatting with friends, or just pop in for a caffeine high. Drink: the coffee is delicious and potent, however it is on the more expensive side given it's craft. The juice is where it gets unrealistic: $9 for a mason jar of green juice. Service: The staff is nice enough, but nothing to write home about. read more

I just love Lofty coffee. The staff is pleasant. The Cedros spot is well Situated and the coffee & food are good. It's a perfect stop after a morning beach hike! read more

Came here for lunch with my coworkers and it's a pretty cool and chill spot. It's in the Cedros district which I love and it's super trendy and hip! I ordered the superbowl (think that's the name), and it was really good! It had a delicious spinach salad with a cabbage salad and amazing buttery cauliflower! The radishes tasted great dipped in the hummus too! I added a side of smoked turkey just to have some protein which was good. The avocado was creamy and fresh too! I had some of their chocolate chip cookie for dessert and it was mouthwatering! I will definitely be back for that bowl again! read more

So pretentious. Stopped in for a regular hot coffee at 1pm. The snobby man at the register said "we don't sell hot coffee after 1". Huh? Isn't this a coffee shop? I then asked, "what alternatives would you recommend?" He looked at me like I was an idiot and said "we can make any hot drink for you". Ok but you can't make me the one thing you're named after and what anyone coming to a coffee shop would expect? I was still open to getting a cold brew at this point but then asked if the shop had heavy whipping cream, to which he said, "yes and it will be 3 extra dollars". HAHAHA this place is a joke. Go literally anywhere else. read more

The staff was lovely. Definitely the worst coffee I've ever had though. Husband and I ordered double espresso shots. I would definitely not do that again. Half an hour later I can't get the awful taste out of my mouth. Cute place and good location. I would go again and try regular coffee or maybe a mixed drink, just definitely not the espresso. read more

chocolate chip cookie, matcha, and latte was just as good as their other locations. their salted carmel latte lacked the flavor it was going for. they didn't label the cups for which one was decaf and which wasn't. the people were nice and chill and there's lots of seating and chill music. read more

My favorite drink at lofty is the Moztec My specialty drink..decaf long black with 1/3 the amount of Aztec...with steamed coconut milk. My favorite food order is two poached Eggs runny with arugula chicken sausage, tomatoes and avocado! I love the gluten free bread but pass on it most of the time. The gluten free lemon cookie is off the charts yumm!! So glad Lofty made it through Corona still offering great food great service and excellent locations. The service is excellent and I enjoy the neighborhood community feeling I have when I sit and relax at Lofty I walk on the beach after picking up my drink. read more

I initially didn't have a great experience the first time I tried Lofty's, but after giving it numerous chances I must say I've fallen in love with their coffee. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu, and my top 2 drinks are the Mocha (regular one) & the Nola! Both of them have just the right amount of caffeine to get the gears turning, and are also crafted to perfection flavor wise! I don't ever feel like their drinks are too sweet or too bland - it's always just right! Cheers Lofty! read more

LOVE Lofty's coffee! It's right off Cedros with canopies all over the shop. May be hard to find since the sign blends with the store front and is dark. There is only street parking and you may have trouble finding something but people are always leaving! Latte art cuteness! Cortado ($3.25)- shot of espresso with milk and foam, a mini latte. Was also served with sparking water to clean my palette. It wasn't too strong but overall really good. Other drinks like mochas, lattes, cappucino were $5 and drip coffee was $2. I felt like it was pretty pricy but it's a nice location! The shop was clean and had lots of outdoor space to sit, lounge, and work! The baristas were nice. They had you a number as soon as you finish ordering. Service was slow for a slow afternoon but I was in no rush. Great place to pick of coffee and walk down to the beach! read more

I've been to a few Lofty's since moving back to town and they seemed to be super popular. Heck, in Encinitas there's literally two locations right across the street from each other and they both totally crush it. At this point I know the coffee is incredible, but this location I specifically love. It's on Cedros right across from the Belly Up so it's always bustling with people making it the perfect place to people watch while getting in some laptop time. $4.00 for a 7.5 oz pour of cold brew on nitro. If I knew it was so small - I may have opted for some drip. Great coffee, smooth and balanced for sure (nitro). I'm spoiled and used to great coffee. Not sure why this is so expensive for such a small drink. Good oatmeal choc chip cookie too. Wouldn't order this again but it's good coffee. Still not sure why their prices are so lofty. This is a great spot to grab coffee in Solana beach! They have a few tables and chairs out on the patio but they fill up quick. I tried their Salted Caramel Latte and French Toast. Their food was decent but nothing special. We were not impressed when both of our forks had eggs still stuck on them. I enjoyed my latte though! My mom's regular latte was a bit bitter but, mixed with a little of my salted caramel latte, it was much better. There's plenty of street parking in this area which makes it pretty convenient. read more

Cute coffee shop with lots of outdoor seating. Perfect for working or meeting friends. Only downside is I wasn't sure of any outlets but least of my worries. Coffee was Delish and came with cute designs and later ordered toast with avo which was also good! Very hip and trendy. Nice little large corner spot. Buzz worthy status if you like better buzz. About the same level I'd say. read more

If you're looking for a cute little coffee spot with artisan coffee, look no further. Not much seating inside but plenty outside to enjoy the weather and to watch the people passing by on the busy street this is the best place to enjoy it all. The staff was very friendly and suggested a different blend of tea for my husband that was delicious. They do offer cold brew coffee here as well, although it's a bit too strong for my taste but the vanilla latte is just wonderful! food is good IF they get your order correct, which about 25% of the time they don't. When you watch the order taker put in the correct information you know the kitchen screwed up. The worst part is waiting 35 minutes for two simple orders "to go" and then while walking out see that the people behind you in line not only had their breakfast; they had already finished eating! This makes the whole experience very unpleasant. If you want to wait for a messed up order then this is your place. If you want better, go somewhere else! read more

After trying their Encinitas location, I decided to try the Solana Beach location as well. I'm a little partial to the Encinitas location because they had more 'indoor' seating and I found the service to be a little more personable, but what I greatly appreciated about this location was that they have a parking lot attached- it doesn't sound like a big deal, but street parking can be a major pain! The salted caramel latte is simply fantastic. This isn't just a good drink; it's the kind of drink you'll crave, and go out of your way to get. It's one of their specialty drinks and with good reason! read more

Cute spot with a welcoming and competent vibe. Breezy, clean, laid-back, and efficiently run. Kind of like a modest-sized hangar with open sides. Plenty of well-spaced seating choices. I will sorely miss this Lofty's location, but luckily I am moving to Little Italy close to a different location, THANK GOD! This place is HIT or MISS with timing, if you show up at the wrong time, you could be in line for up to 15-20 minutes, get comfortable. But if there is a line, you know it is quality. I forget sometimes what a commodity it is to live next to a shop that makes their own alternative milks! As a vegan, the mylk quality here is top knotch. Order the coconut latte and you will love the earthy taste of the fresh mylk! Tip 1. Bring your own cup to save 50 cents and to save the environment. Tip 2. If you are going to order food, call and place your order ahead of time. They only allow orders ahead of time if it is food. Tip 3. ORDER THE FARRO BOWL, it comes with dairy-free ricotta & it is heaven on earth. Tip 4. vegans, the plants based options are TO DIE FOR read more

If you're in or around the Cedros Design District, this is a great place to stop for a cup of coffee or a quick snack. Not only do they have a good amount of outdoor space for seating, it's a great place to perch up and just people watch on the weekends when there is more hustle and bustle. Depending on what's happening, there might be live music or other fun entertainment nearby take in if you're lucky. I always go with their Americanos and depending on the weather, I usually get it iced so that it acts as a nice refresher from the heat while walking around. Their cold brew coffee is pretty stellar if that's the route you want to take, too. The menu isn't super extensive and they focus on the staples. They also have a good variety of coffee for home brewing, so make sure you ask lots of questions. Every region's blend is a different in tastes, notes, acidity and boldness, so it might take a bit to find what is right for you. They have some pastries for the choosing as well as some egg dishes, but since I've hit this spot up after a big meal, I just watched people enjoy their treats from afar. Stay to enjoy your beverage or take it to go to enjoy the beautiful sights of Solana Beach - either way, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

The best espresso around. The almond croissant never disappoints. The staff is always courteous and professional.

Stopped by for brekky this morning after hearing some good reviews. This place is located on the charming cedros ave and is a perfect pit stop in the midst of your design shopping. I opted for their zucchini cranberry muffin, toast with a side of hummus, avo, chicken sausage and a double espresso to wash it all down. Their housemade muffin was divine - super duper moist with shreds of zucchini and juicy cranberries throughout. Definitely something I would order again. Their toast was chewy and I loved their hummus, not like the gross store bought sabra stuff. Ate one piece of toast with mashed avocado and the other with hummus. I could live off avocado hummus and bread so this was a no brainer. Their chicken sausage was really really good but I could not for the life of me get over a $3.50 price tag for a little side of this sausage. Does that make me stingy? The espresso was good with tonic water served on the side. By the end of it I was out almost $15 which seems steeper than I would like for a basic brekky. The seating is all outdoor so bundle up if it's a rare chilly SD day! read more

This is the perfect spot to grab coffee with a friend, read a book, get some work done, or just relax. They have everything that's important to me: good coffee, a (small) private parking lot, free wifi, and a relaxed atmosphere. It also helps that they're right next to the beach! I've tried their Kyoto cold brew, Turkish latte, iced mocha, salted caramel latte, and croissant. Having tried the Turkish latte both hot and cold, I would say it's best done hot. The cardamom is overpowering when it's cold, but is nice and light when mixed with steamed milk. Personally, the Kyoto cold brew is a little too acidic for my taste and I wouldn't recommend it. As I write this down I'm sure some coffee enthusiasts are cringing... But if you're not a cold brew fan to begin with, just order an iced americano. The iced mocha almost tastes like chocolate milk, and the salted caramel latte is extremely decadent. If you're looking for a treat - it's worth indulging in. The croissants are amazing, and they have a massive chocolate chip cookie that looks like a scone! If you get any sort of sweet pastry, definitely don't pair it with one of their flavored drinks. It's a sugar overload! Anyway, all seating is outdoor so be wary of the weather when you go, and make sure your electronics are prepared! read more

This is the third location of the lofty coffee drinking San Diego specialty brewing fun house. When I went to place my order they were bumping some classic voodoo d'angelo laced with the classic jdilla production, it got me so nostalgic about the days of blazing sky high out of my skull that I just felt high as a kite right then and there when I was placing my order, I was blitzed and just nodding to the hypnotic rhythm of such a classic record in a classic spot in San Diego. So refreshing to hear people that appreciate one of the best collaborations of all time in the history of baby making music rhythm. Anyway back to my review... It was blazing hot this day and not much shade, but it was ok they had tonnnnns of cold brew on tap for me to keep ordering and pouring over myself to stay cool and alert on a hot Friday early afternoon. I came to try the salad and ordered the arugula. They didn't give a lot of dressing but that was ok since I was already drenched in delicious cold brew I couldn't tolerate any more liquid for the day. The figs and berries in the salad were really something special for my mouth I couldn't get enough of it in there!! BEWARE of food stealing sparrows!!! I went to check the toilet and like always it was occupied and not available, and when I returned to my table there was a sparrow having his way with my blueberry muffin!! So be weary to notify one of the frequent local hipster doofuses to guard your snacks when u are on the hunt for the vacant toilet. Like I mentioned above this is a dangerous zone as there is only one toilet, so if u really have to let loose after u down a huge fig and berry salad with gallons of cold brew u are in for a lofty surprise!! Luckily I had a table in the back by the shade with some bushes to help me bide my time just in case. So that is definitely the choice seating area during the hot summer days as u can really let the cold brew soak in your skin and drawers without the heat evaporating all of the cold brew off your body. The parking can get a bit tricky as there is not a huge parking lot, but luckily there are some spots that are exclusively only for lofty customers. Luckily I found a spot that was close so I don't have to walk to far, I love to drive with the cold brew still soaked under me while I drive to the next choice spot. I really hope u can experience this joyous place and hear the neo soul rhythms of a jdilla laced gem to really get ur cold brew body ready for a mouthful of fig and berries. read more

This is such a cute little coffee shop! I really love the atmosphere and decor here, especially their outdoor seating! Like most coffee shops, you order up front and wait for your coffee/food. For my friend and I, we got a pound cake to share while I got a jade oolong tea and he got a flat white. I really like that they bring you your coffee to you though because sometimes I don't like standing there waiting for my drink or taking someone else's drink on accident because we all ordered the same thing. Plus points on their cute tea presentation and latte art! The tea was very subtle but very good. I am a tea lover and I've grown up drinking Chinese tea and this tea was pretty good! It wasn't too strong or bitter, it was pretty light in fact and I really like that. I do like my tea extra brewed and bitter but this was really good, too! My friend's flat white was good, according to him. He's a coffee enthusiast so I trust his words (haha). Overall, this is a nice coffee shop for a coffee date with friends or your S.O. or family.
