I got a response my item was not eligible for return, so I called customer service and was told they couldn't provide a QR code right now and that I had to do the "pack, label, and ship" method. The shirt came in a plastic bag which got ripped when opening, and got tossed, so have to purchase a container to ship it back, pay a $9.95 return fee, lose the shipping cost and sales tax, AND wait up to 72 hours for a label to be emailed to me. So this shirt I am returning is costing me at least $25 to return. I told them I would never order from them again. I think I will take it to a resale shop or just donate it somewhere. Lesson learned.

The cashier was very apologetic and I said not to worry, I will speak to the customer service online. I have to say, I felt very judged by the manager. She was rude and dismissive. It may have been because the shoe box with the shoes I returned was beat up, broken and had a rubber band holding it together. However, they were shipped to me in that state and I was returning because they were too narrow. I likely would have shopped around more if she didn't make me feel so unwelcome. One other thing - the clothes at this store are not that affordable. The quality is not THAT good to afford such a rude employee. My mother liked a top and went to the associate to ask if they had her size and the response was "There aren't any up there? Did you look? She went to look and said well there is this other size..." My mother asked if anything was in back. She described to me being interested in other items and at one point the associate was going to check the back for her, had a conversation with the blonde for a while, did not go in back and said no. My mother was feeling uncomfortable at this point and wanted to scope out the sale before leaving when the blonde yelled from across the store that the sale section was no longer organized by size. She said some other things but my mother didn't realize she was talking to her so the blonde started saying HELLO HELLO! ?! How rude is that to be talked to this way while you are shopping. No one told my mother their name. She had messaged me that she was going to Chico's and I was excited for her and then I got a text message shortly after that she was leaving. My heart broke because I know she was excited. Customers have a choice in where to shop and if you're short with them or treat them poorly from the start, you miss out on the sale. She will still get nice clothing from associates who are socially graceful and willing to help, but it won't ever be this location again. You have work to do ladies.

Both my friend and I felt incredibly welcomed and a lack of judgement. It was a refreshing experience and I don't know why I was surprised. Maurices makes cute clothes for a variety of body types and sizes, and they recognize that everyone has a right to feel fabulous. He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me. (She didn't bother asking the associate that was training her, she just assumed because they didn't sell that particular bra in their store that it wasn't from Soma)The associate had to correct her. Instead of asking, because she had no clue, she proceeded to tell me that I could not take that particular bra back through the store, but that I needed ship it back and contact the company the way that way had purchased it. Again, the associate had to correct her. (The associate was in the back and I had to ask her to go and verify that I could not return it in the store) As I was trying on the bras they did have in stock, she took forever to find them. I love Soma bras but every single bra she gave me from one of their lines was misshapen, it looked like it was crushed. She not only made up answers instead of asking when she did not know, she had a slight attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Needless to say I returned 3 out of the 5 bras. No empathy. No flexibility. No effort. Just a cold, policy-over-people "no." What should have been a quick, human interaction turned into a frustrating, disappointing experience that left me feeling completely dismissed as a customer. Sales and deals: While the sale section here is not as big as other locations, like schaumberg, you can still find some great deals in the sale shoes and other Winter wear right now. Staff: The sales people are really helpful in answering questions and placing an order to ship if needed. Social distancing and masks required in the store and there are tables to leave your "try ons." Coupons: And don't forget your DSW discount if you received a coupon in the mail. I found out that these don't always transfer to your account and you have to have the mailer in order to get the additional discount. Store hours: Also be sure to check hours online. The Arboretum seems to have different hours depending on the store, as I found out this past week. Parking: Plenty of free parking here, especially now, close to the store entrance. The Arboretum is a great place to take a walk outside.
