When I tried to check-in, I realized that this location wasn't on Yelp, so I added them. (The manager was very happy I did that.) While the women shopped, I took a few pictures and posted them right away. For the few times I go clothes shopping with family, I know how hard it is to find petite clothing. This Talbots has one of the largest selection of Petites I've seen anywhere. Both found a number of things they liked. (And I have to admit, looked good.) We patronized, and found things; we paid (and got a $30 discount for joining their buying club). Then, it was off to dinner.

The gal that actually processed the return was helpful and very friendly (she gets the star). She tried to get the manager to understand the problem. The manager did not move, but stood against the wall with her arms crossed and said "we don't refund the shipping fee" (it was not pertaining to the shipping fee). The cashier was very apologetic and I said not to worry, I will speak to the customer service online. I have to say, I felt very judged by the manager. She was rude and dismissive. She had no desire to speak with me at all, much less try and help me with the discrepancy. I purchased two tops, so I'm not sure why she was so bothered. It may have been because the shoe box with the shoes I returned was beat up, broken and had a rubber band holding it together. However, they were shipped to me in that state and I was returning because they were too narrow. I likely would have shopped around more if she didn't make me feel so unwelcome. One other thing - the clothes at this store are not that affordable. The quality is not THAT good to afford such a rude employee. This visit to the store was a big disappointment for me, as I don't live close by.

Today, that meant absolutely nothing. I sent my daughter money through Venmo to buy items for me. When I went to return them, the store refused to refund my card or offer any kind of reasonable solution -- even after I explained that my daughter now lives in Columbia, MO and I was just trying to avoid the ridiculous hassle of shuffling money back and forth. No empathy. No flexibility. No effort. Just a cold, policy-over-people "no." What should have been a quick, human interaction turned into a frustrating, disappointing experience that left me feeling completely dismissed as a customer. Like many stores wanting to move merch out before new items arrive. Many items are priced aggressively, like 70 percent off, while some are 40 percent off. It's kind of a fun time too because there are Winter and holiday items priced low, but new merch for late Winter or Spring are just in and regularly priced. Clothing and apparel here is superior quality and made for long time wear. Last year, I found a women's belted trench coat here on sale for under $40 and I am sure I will have it for life. I must have been asked several times if I needed help finding anything and the store personnel are always friendly and helpful, without being aggressive. Bonus for being pet friendly, and having clean, spacious dressing rooms and customer restrooms on-site. If you bring your pups, It's a nice area to walk them outside, before or after you shop too.

I visited to look at their shoe department for a holiday gift. Don helped me and I could not have nicer things to say about him! He got me a variety of bean boot styles, heights, and sizes to try on to truly see which I liked best. After my research was complete, he found us back in the store to have me try one more boot that had my preferred size, width, height, and was on major sale! He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me.
