I am genuinely upset writing this. Half my closet is Duluth Trading Company. I've defended this brand, promoted it to friends, and spent years being a loyal customer. Today, that meant absolutely nothing. I sent my daughter money through Venmo to buy items for me. When I went to return them, the store refused to refund my card or offer any kind of reasonable solution -- even after I explained that my daughter now lives in Columbia, MO and I was just trying to avoid the ridiculous hassle of shuffling money back and forth. No empathy. No flexibility. No effort. Just a cold, policy-over-people "no." What should have been a quick, human interaction turned into a frustrating, disappointing experience that left me feeling completely dismissed as a customer. After years of loyalty, Duluth didn't just lose a sale today -- they lost me for life. Extremely disappointed. read more

It has been a few years since I reviewed this Duluth location. I had to share another review because right now (January) is a perfect time to visit and check out their clearance section and sales. Like many stores wanting to move merch out before new items arrive. Many items are priced aggressively, like 70 percent off, while some are 40 percent off. It's kind of a fun time too because there are Winter and holiday items priced low, but new merch for late Winter or Spring are just in and regularly priced. Clothing and apparel here is superior quality and made for long time wear. Last year, I found a women's belted trench coat here on sale for under $40 and I am sure I will have it for life. I must have been asked several times if I needed help finding anything and the store personnel are always friendly and helpful, without being aggressive. Bonus for being pet friendly, and having clean, spacious dressing rooms and customer restrooms on-site. If you bring your pups, It's a nice area to walk them outside, before or after you shop too. read more

The expensive wool sweater I purchased for my girl friend's Christmas present previously has already pilled and stretched and looks raggy. Their return policy is nowhere near as good as LLBean and I am very disappointed with the quality. If you want superior quality buy Aran sweaters. read more

We have not been here too often but I do have my strong perceptions. 1. This store tends towards "high-end" - I find prices to be on the higher side. 2. This store tends towards the person who works outside or who needs highly functional clothing for exterior work. 3. This store tends to be very popular - we have been there and it tends towards being very full of shoppers. All of this said I am not a person who works outside. I enjoy outdoor sports, even cold weather sports, but not something where I am outdoor in bad weather working. I do like high-end clothing but their style is not my style; overall, I would not spend the money for their items. read more

On 10/17/2023, after months of waiting to be near this store and return an online purchase, I was warmly greeted by Sarah who quickly put down the work she was doing on a display and efficiently completed the return process. I did not intend to make a purchase though given how smoothly things had gone I decided to take her up on her inquiry about helping me find anything. She instantly took me to various spots, was obviously well-informed about the particulars of several items, helped me determine the size I needed, and In no time left with several items that I enjoy today. I came for Christmas shopping, I got a jacket for work a while back and was very good quality. Unfortunately my visit to the store was awful. Walked in and older lady working there did not greet me or anything just starting at me like I wasn't welcomed there. All the rest of the employees were the same way. I love the quality of these clothes. A little pricey but the quality is excellent. I wear the No Yank Tanks all summer. The colors change with the seasons. My son is a well contractor. He swears by the warmth and durability of the Water Hose work pants. They last years and wash well. The flannel shirts are soft and warm. They have car and truck canvas gear for carseats, tools, trips. Returns are never a problem. The customer service is the icing on the cake. Who knows more about warm gear than a company that started in Minnesota! read more

Their "no bull" guarantee is actually full of it. I bought an expensive leather belt from them less than a year ago and the stitching holding the layers together started coming apart. I brought it back to exchange it and they would not let me. They told me to contact customer service . Customer service was not helpful either. They don't stand by their product. We've been to the Duluth Trading Co in Downers Grove so we knew what to expect. It's a bit out of the way but so long as you have your GPS, your good. Lots of stuff to see in there. It's an outdoor type of a store. They were having a sale of 20% off $75 or more. We were there to buy stuff so it was perfect! Bought more than we would have because of the sale (didn't know about it before we got there) Staff was very friendly and helpful. We couldn't find a size and she went back and found one for us. The one and ONLY clothing store for real working women! I cannot express how satisfied i am to have quality clothes that won't focus everyone's attention on my curves (top or bottom). I bought pants from here for my work as a physical educator. They are high waist so i can demonstrate a proper squat without showing off anything embarrassing. The pants are flexible and light. I can roll them up too for when the weather turns warm. The only downside is that they are quite pricey. However, I believe it's worth it for the quality. read more

Duluth Trading Company has a great product at a fair price. Customer service usually is top notch however I've had a few snags with that. The online order, curbside pickup and ship to home needs A LOT of work. My recent experience with order online and pick up at the store left me with such a bad experience I most likely will not shop here again. I'm a relatively new customer to Duluth. Originally ordered a new coat and gloves online then had to return them both. After reading reviews about the return process for online orders I decided to return the items in person instead to speed up the process. The original coat was too large and I just needed a different size. The gloves had a defect upon arrival so had to be exchanged for a new pair. Neither issue is a deal breaker, just a hassle. So far the replacement jacket is great. Fits perfectly and keeps me extremely warm. My main issue here is with the shipping methods used. These days you can order almost anything from any website or store and have it within a few days. It's 10 days later and I'm still waiting for my replacement gloves which had to be shipped, but we're in stock in the warehouse. Rather than use someone like UPS or FedEx for full delivery, Duluth uses a combo of UPS getting the shipment then handing it off to the USPS. I assume this saves Duluth a buck or two, but means shipment on their orders takes FOREVER!! According to the tracking number I have, my gloves have been at the USPS facility about 20 miles from my house for the last 5 days. Had they just been sent via UPS or FedEx I'd surely have them by now. Instead I'm stuck waiting. I order products from overseas that arrive in under 10 days. The moral of the story is this is a great place if you can find something at the store, but if you need to order anything, either be prepared to be extra patient, or find something similar somewhere else. read more

I'm a journeyman plumber in Chicago. I purchased great stuff from here about 3 weeks ago and loved everything but the one pair of work boots. I wore them for 2 days before the toe broke in jagged and started to push against the right end of my big toe. Realized I absolutely couldn't wear them with the pain it caused. Went to return said defective boot only for the manager to hand be their "new return policy" which read that they would take back any purchase for up to a year except for normal wear and tear. Great! Unfortunately the manager handed me this to point out the normal wear and tear part. Said he wouldn't take them back. I wore these boots for 2 days. I've had boots that lasted a year from Redwing and wear them foot 12 hours a day in ice, rain, wind and snow so I know "normal wear and tear." Apparantly the manager knows how work boots break in better than i do amd for a "no bull" policy it was pretty bull. 200 dollars i wont get back and would recommend Redwing to anyone over Duluth for work boots. They still have great clothing but for the next 30 years in the trades ill be working, i wont be buying Duluth work boots. read more

Why is retail dying? The store was packed with product that made it impossible to see what was there. It looked like it was merchandised in in 1985. When I asked for some assistance, the works had no idea what products they had in the store. Tiring, frustrating, and did not encourage me to come back. So typical of retail today. We made a special trip to visit Duluth Trading Company after spotting this store from the highway. We love their commercials and thought it would be fun to get our hands on their products. We bought a really nice bag that will fit my laptop and has the fun, rugged look that we wanted. There is a coffee and tea station in the back of the store near the restrooms. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. Their clothing has nice features: longer torso the larger fellows and shelf bras in the tank tops for the ladies. I have used Duluth's on line mail order services for several years and have been very happy with the quality of their products and timeliness of their delivery services. That said, their turnaround time for handling returns is, in my opinion, unacceptable, especially in relation to their competitors. Three weeks ago I returned a pair of shorts; it took two weeks for them to acknowledge they'd received the return and now three weeks later, I'm still waiting for my refund. read more

I drove about an hour to get here, but still closer than 1.5 hrs to get to the Port Washington's (wonderful) DTC store. Don't be perplexed that this Hoffman Estates location is out in a field with no other buildings in sight. It seemed fully stocked, and staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Fitting rooms were large, well lit, and had lots of hooks and a bench! I usually shop them online. Getting to try items on saved a lot of returns for me! Plus the chance to compare fabrics and ask questions in person were big pluses. I found all the items I came for, and more. I recommend it. Worth the trip for me. read more

Long time customer of Duluth. I have a hard time finding tall sized shirts, and love their long T-shirts. Needed socks recently & grumbled about paying $30 for a six pack of socks. Then went back for a second pack, because they are the best socks I've ever owned. The only downside about this store is when you tuck in one of their shirts. If you need to pull the shirt out, unbuttoning your pants is necessary to avoid singing the WedGeeze blues. read more
