One customer left and another came over and asked me if I thought it was appropriate behavior. She then said after we heard the political comments "I can't buy anything here" and left. Just as I glanced at them, the one - who later identified herself as "the manager" asked if I needed assistance. I said "thank you for finally asking". She said.. "we were just venting."- I continued.. "oh yes, we ALL have heard it-- there have been 3 of us in here and 2 have left because you have carried on a personal conversation that can be heard throughout the store! She then proceeded to tell me she had the right to refuse service as I was being rude to her! Refusing service?? She didn't provide any! Needless to say, my husband left the 3 pairs of shoes he was going to buy and we left. So possibly 5 sales lost but definitely 3! If the sales are tanking, this type of erratic, unprofessional behavior may be why. No wonder stores are closing when this is the type of employees representing the store. Corporate will be getting a call.

If you're planning to make a donation, I recommend going to the Thrifty Shopper instead. They were easy to work with and kind. My mother and I donated a sizable amount of nice linens and clothing, among other things. They made snarky remarks at us, saying, "we don't take clothing that comes on hangers." The reason the clothing was on hangers was because it had just been dry cleaned. If they had just nicely asked us to remove the hangers, we would've happily complied. Instead of being grateful for the high quality pieces that we donated, they seemed to be entirely annoyed by the receipt of a donation. For a store that makes profit by re-selling donations, you'd think they'd at least be respectful and appreciative. Additionally, the folks in the donation center were not helpful. At least four individuals stood around and watched as my mother and I made countless trips back and forth to our car. There were one or two items that the Salvation Army would not accept (which is fine). However, the individuals in the donation center waited until we carried these heavy items up the stairs (watching us the entire time) before telling us that they would not take them. If they knew they wouldn't accept the items, why waste our time and watch us lug the items back and forth? I understand that these individuals probably receive unpredictable and unusable items as donations all the time. However, they should still treat individuals with respect. The people who are donating are trying to do something nice. Also, it's not always what you say, but how you say it. A positive tone and attitude would have gone a long way in this scenario. Unfortunately, I will be taking my contributions elsewhere going forward.

Normally, I'd just order what I need and have it shipped. Today was something different. Loaded up the family and drove 90 minutes to go to the store in Ithaca. I was surprised that they had a tiny selection of paddling gear. The staff was unfriendly and inattentive at best, and the gentleman at the register had the personality of a wet fart. They expended zero you know whats to even acknowledge a customer. There's plenty of room for improvement. While I'm not done with REI, I'm good if I never go back to this location.

It has the same high quality products but seems very small and short in inventory compared to the REI stores I've been to elsewhere. What really blows my mind is this is in ITHACA whose signature activity is hiking AND SENECA LAKE and they have no kayaks or paddle boards or really anything related to water activities. I was absolutely shocked as I wanted to look at some of those items and there is nothing here. Dick's sporting goods in godforsaken Binghamton has more water activity items than REI. I truly hope this is a temporary issue they will rectify. Huge disappointment.

I left that appointment really happy and specifically rescheduled with her because of that experience. The issue is that the service at this location feels very inconsistent. One appointment can be great, and the next can feel completely different, so it is hard to know what to expect. At one visit, I came in just for a blowout, and it took about two and a half hours just to wash and blow out my hair. Most recently, I was scheduled with Kaylee C. again, but the salon called the same day to say she was sick. That was completely understandable. They offered me another stylist at the same level and said he was very good, so I agreed to come in. I was there for a basic root touch-up, which was scheduled as a two-hour appointment. In past appointments, after getting my roots done, my hair has also been blown out and styled, not simply dried. This time, after two hours, the stylist told me near the end of the appointment that he had another client coming in and would not be able to blow out my hair. I left the salon with my hair wet after spending two hours there just getting my roots colored. What was most frustrating was not just that the appointment ran poorly, but that there did not seem to be much effort to fix the situation. I spoke with a manager afterward, and while she acknowledged that I should have been told the stylist was slower and that he may not have planned appropriately, the overall response still felt focused on moving on to the next customer rather than resolving the problem for the customer already there. That has been my main experience with this location: there are some very good stylists, but the consistency and customer care are lacking. When something goes wrong, the salon does not seem to have a strong "we'll make this right" approach. Instead, it feels like the priority becomes the next appointment, even when the current customer is leaving unhappy. I wanted to like this salon because I've had some good experiences here, especially with Kaylee C., but after multiple inconsistent appointments, I would say you really do not know what kind of service you are going to get.

I came to the store this morning after spending many hours on the phone with AT&T CSR and tech support, who couldn't resolve the issues after going through all the troubleshooting drills. Ultimately I spent all morning at the store but I am very grateful and impressed by the work ethics, professionalism and dedication of the staff I met. In particular, I want to give kudos to Shauntay and Melissa, who talked with tech support, supervisors and eventually connected me with Apple (network issues). Melissa worked tirelessly and relentlessly since there were various barriers and limitations that she had to address. She also had to multi-task to help with other customers since the store was becoming busier as the morning progressed. I was relieved that my data and texting functions were restored at the end. We are lucky to have such exemplary staff at the AT&T Ithaca store, who do their best to serve, assist and advocate for their customers when needed. They are to be commended for the fine work they do and have reversed my first (unfavorable) impression of AT&T. THANK YOU!!!
