This Walmart was set up in an easy to navigate way and a lot more spacious! The aisles and everything just looked and felt cleaner! The mall seems to have a variety of stores but wasn't too busy on a weekday afternoon. The location off the main road is convenient. Walmart is known for being a one-stop-shop store, but this one stands out from the other locations for me because of the following: 1. Despite it's distance from a major city center, the are never out of stock 2. The vegetables and fruits are always fresh 3. The proximity to the Watkins Glen racetrack - Walmart locations are usually not a five minute drive to large entertainment venues 4. The friendliest, most helpful, most available Walmart staff ever! Don't know if it's the excitement of the Nascar weekend, but there is always staff on hand who are ready and able to assist. Never had to "go looking" for anyone. Year after year, groceries for the meat eaters, the vegans, the vegetarians, and everyone in between was never an issue. Forgot pillows, towels, need extra blow up beds, slippers, a toothbrush, whatever the need Walmart has us covered. See you next year!!

Today I used the self-checkout. I paid for a bag of dog food but the register would not give me a…read morereceipt and then it sent my receipt to someone's email whom I don't know. I told the employee who was monitoring the area and she got Roxanne, the floor manager of the day. Roxanne said that this was my problem and I'd have to call Walmart Tech Support. What the hell? My problem. Then she told me that I had not paid for the $35 bag of dog food and to pay again, which I did. I got to my truck and called my credit card company. They confirmed that I had paid twice. I went back in the store with the credit card agent on the phone. I found Roxanne and told her she could speak with them to confirm that I had paid twice. She declined and took off running across the store, back to the service desk. I followed her and told her that I would dispute the charges. She then said that she'd give my $35 back via a refund. When I called to speak with the manager to report what had happened Roxanne got on the line and pretended to be her own manager. What?! I hung up on her and called again. This time I got someone above Roxanne who said that she would be pulled into an office for a retraining meeting today. The manager was apologetic and seemed aghast by what i relayed to him. I have shopped at this store in Watkins Glen for 15 years and have never had a problem. This was bad. This Roxanne person needs to be retrained or fired. All of this was unnecessary. That's what I get for telling an employee that their machine wasn't working and was sending electronic receipts to the worng customer. Leaves a bad taste in one's mouth!!

As i was trying to figure that out and an employee was watching me and not offering help. once inside there were 3 employees near the front counter none coming to check me out. they were almost fighting over who should be ringing out. The customers The potting soil is located outside. I did not know if I was supposed to bring it in or not. I tell them I want to buy potting soil and they tell me I need to go outside and bring it in even though it look like it was locked up. I had to come outside and figure out how to take the ropes off the potting soil so I could bring one inside. Again, no assistance. I was treated like I was an inconvenience to their morning routine. I will never come here again.

Today I called them at noon for an order that was supposed to be here at 11 and the delivery manager states that it's in her system as on the way. I wait for another hour and still nothing. My wife now comes home at 3, calls them and they tell her that it hasn't been pulled and it should be on the way in twenty minutes. Disappointment is far from what I'm feeling right now, outraged is more like it, and guess what? The best part is , ain't a thing I can do other than write a review that makes no difference.
