And what a delight it was! It's a really lovely and welcoming shop with plenty of plants, books, meditation or yoga supplies, bedding, prints, and more. With a focus on eco-friendly products, the prices aren't necessarily for the budget conscious, but you can rest assured that the quality is there. The staff here are happy to help, but also let you wander the store without being overly pushy or hovering. I got into a conversation with one of them regarding some of the plants they had available - and she was quite excited to show me a new plant that she had just learned about. I ended up buying a couple plants (among other items), as I had managed to find a cebu blue pothos tucked away upstairs, as well as a white princess philodendron on display downstairs... both of which had been on my plant wishlist for a while. TL;DR. It's probably a good thing that I'm not on The Commons often, because it'd be very easy for me to spend way too much money here (especially on the bedding items, as I'm a sucker for comfy blankets and all that). That said, I'm definitely adding Home Green Home to my list of favorite Ithaca shops. Highly recommend it!

Sadly, I fell victim to this scam recently and was bilked out of $3,500+. Small claims court won't work in such a situation because bankruptcy is in federal court which supersedes. Where's the NY Attorney General? Buyer beware!

The salespeople work on commission and are more aggressive than some used car salesmen. There were no price tags so we couldn't tell what we were trying. All in all it was a terrible experience and it was difficult to get away from the salesman and out of the store. The prices seem much higher than the prices for similar mattresses at another store.

When she chose a less expensive but comfortable model he told her, "You have made the best choice." The payment went quickly and the delivery was exactly as promised. The delivery men worked quickly and with smiles. She is very happy with her purchase. And I was very impressed with the unexpectedly good salesman! Upon first entering the store, you will notice that NONE of the mattresses have prices listed on them. I think the store does this on purpose. The salesman immediately took me to the most expensive mattress (Tempurpedic) and insisted on financing, and was asking me about my credit and if he could "run it right now to see if I qualify for financing"... I had just entered the store!!!! Also, they continually asked "what other stores are you going to??" And demanded to know....and wouldn't let us leave the store... they kept saying "don't take too long to decide, these deals won't last long!" And things like that. It was very stressful. It honestly reminded me of buying a car! Would not recommend this particular store. They do not listen to your budget or your specific needs, and continually push a quick sale.

Myself and several others I know have taken advantage of this deal. We have priced the same chairs same quality elsewhere and it is $800+ for two. When the delivery people came, they didn't wipe their feet or wear booties like every other delivery people have. I was scrubbing mud off of my white chair while they were bringing in the other items. They saw me and said nothing. As they were carrying the base of the bed upstairs, they smashed a chunk of the edge of an archway going upstairs. They were bringing it back to the truck and decided to try again. I later found out how they did it. I noticed part of the cloth was hanging down from the base and one of the boards that frame the entire thing, was split into two. There was also mud on my mattress that I had to clean. They were sloppy and reckless and had no regard for the situation. I also had to clean mud off of my walls and other things in my house. I didn't realize the extent of the damage right away so nothing could be done. Customer service is minimal at best. If you are looking for good service in any way, this is not the place to go.

Now I don't know about anyone else, but Id expect a "leather" recliner to last more than 3 1/2 years but not he case with ours. Within the first year the "leather" started peeling/breaking down and of course it was all due to consumer care according to Flex Steel but since it was within the 1st year of purchased it was repaired (not replaced) with new sections of material. About 5 months ago, the same thing started happening on the left side arm rest only much worse but this time because it was out of warranty, Flex Steel nor Dunk & Bright would not repair, replace or return for full credit. Through all this we discovered our "real" leather recliner is "bonded" leather. BIG difference and something that should have been brought to our attention at time of purchase. Now you may think its asking for a lot after 3 1/2 years to have this addressed with full coverage costs but honestly, do these two companies expect a customer to drop over $2,000.00 on a piece of furniture only to have the covering start breaking down after 3 1/2 years? I thought i was dealing with reputable companies but guess not. And as far as consumer care goes (our care), we purchased about 15 years ago an Ekrons Stressless "real" leather recliner and about 7 years ago a Natuzzi "real" leather recliner. To date absolutely NO issues or signs wear. Guess that's what happens when you purchase quality furniture from reputable companies. Never again Dunk & Bright or Flex Stee.
