Clean, decently organized, and good second hand finds. Saving money and doing my part for the environment. Win-win.

Best spot in the area for used furniture. Prices are higher than the ReUse center, but they have way nicer stuff.

I ended up purchasing 2 pairs of earrings that were homemade, 1 for a gift and 1 for me. I will definitely return when in the area.

I was greeted just as warmly by Deb, the shop owner, who chatted with me as I browsed. She's got the level of attentiveness just right-- she's lovely and engaging, anticipating customer needs (like offering the fitting room, if you're looking to try on their cute selection of vintage clothing) while also giving you room to explore the gorgeously-curated boutique. There are quirky, fun details to be found in every corner. I've learned pretty much everything you see is fair game! Even antique pieces I was sure were display only, like vintage thermoses and framed art. All affordably priced. Stationery, slim beeswax tapers, canvas pouches, unique kitchen/home goods, retro posters, knicknacks, vintage accessories, and so much more. I'll be adding photos, since words can't convey the array of awesome to be found here. Even better is it's pet friendly! Bring your furry friends. I know I'm going to visit as often as I can to make up for not discovering this Ithaca gem sooner! What makes the vibe immaculate is the shop staff, especially the owner! They have been just sincerely kind, generous, and lovely people. They have a basket of free water bottles to keep visitors hydrated. This is a new local hospitality bar set! If you drop by, tell them E sent ya.

I'm almost never on The Commons anymore, but I had a gift certificate for this store that I needed…read moreto use... so when I was able to get out of work a little early one day recently, I decided to stop for my first visit to Home Green Home. And what a delight it was! It's a really lovely and welcoming shop with plenty of plants, books, meditation or yoga supplies, bedding, prints, and more. With a focus on eco-friendly products, the prices aren't necessarily for the budget conscious, but you can rest assured that the quality is there. The staff here are happy to help, but also let you wander the store without being overly pushy or hovering. I got into a conversation with one of them regarding some of the plants they had available - and she was quite excited to show me a new plant that she had just learned about. I ended up buying a couple plants (among other items), as I had managed to find a cebu blue pothos tucked away upstairs, as well as a white princess philodendron on display downstairs... both of which had been on my plant wishlist for a while. TL;DR. It's probably a good thing that I'm not on The Commons often, because it'd be very easy for me to spend way too much money here (especially on the bedding items, as I'm a sucker for comfy blankets and all that). That said, I'm definitely adding Home Green Home to my list of favorite Ithaca shops. Highly recommend it!

Very pleasant and creative interior space. I especially like the tile floors and the vine covered staircase to the upstairs. The store also has a small selection of books up stairs. They sell sustainable mattresses and bedding. Which is hard to find elsewhere in Ithaca.

This was my favorite place to shop in Ithaca. Good amount of street parking in the area, and the…read morestaff members are friendly. It's similarly sized to other college town artist co-ops that I've encountered, but their inventory has some of the best variety of mixed media I've seen, at an appreciably high standard. Jewelry/accessories, apparel, pottery/glassware, wood carvings, prints/paintings, wreaths, and more home decor of all materials and dimensions. We found the perfect souvenirs to commemorate a group hike we did during our trip, after discussing the merits amongst ourselves between three artists who depicted the same trail in their own approaches: linograph vs photograph vs watercolor. We also purchased some crocheted plushies and a magnet, and my better half talked me out of a piece of enhanced folded book art. To respect the no photography policy of many of the artists, I'll just note that the website's artist portfolio just represents a drop in the bucket of what you'll find. We'll definitely stop in again for more unique wares whenever we pass through the area.

There is pottery, blown glass, carved wood, and many more handmade items. It's great that many artists fill this space and their stories are shown through their info cards by their work.
