The owner, Deb, knows nearly all of her customers by name and makes me feel so welcomed every time I walk in the door. Deb offers a great selection of second hand clothes for women from juniors to plus size. The clothes and shoes are used, but you would never know as she only stocks the best. There is such a variety of clothing, you WILL find what you are looking for (and several things you didn't know you wanted). The selection changes constantly, but is never overwhelming. It is just the perfect amount of options to explore. Now, lets talk price. From the $2 rack (yes, you read that right TWO dollars- which is kept well stocked and rotated, AND provides donations to a local animal fostering organization), $5-$10 jewelry, to the $12 shoes, a person can build an entire outfit with less than $20. The pieces we bought all have some small story behind them which we enjoy. Mimi's has been a godsend for us. Mimi's is conveniently located in downtown Ithaca, the staff is friendly & helpful, prices are reasonable and there's always something fun and funky to marvel at even if you don't take it home with you. There are a few prime meter-free spots, but bring some change with you in case you need to park on the street. The staff has tape measures handy, but if you're looking to fill a space at home remember to give it a quick measure to ease your shopping. Mimi's, at times, can be jam-packed full of good things and navigation can be tricky if you have mobility issues. Well worth checking out again and again in person and online!

The best part about this place, however, is how the proceeds go to various community projects and scholarships. Quick Rundown: Atmosphere: 5/5 - nice little boutique vibe - reminds me of some of the vintage shops i once frequented when i lived in Los Angeles. I was immediately greeted by friendly Amber who helped me pick out two pairs of pants and three cute tops. Amber helped me with sizing and what would be professional for my position. I've occasionally seen retail prices this good (ok, rarely), but never in this combination of large, neat, comfortable store, exceptional prices, and helpful staff. Kind of like REI for apparel, with plenty of overlap, but leans a bit more towards work clothing than hiking/mountaineering/leisure. I can't think of a store of this kind in the entire state that is this good. Worth the drive from far away, especially as the cold weather season approaches. Helps you survive winters up here!
