We had heard about this business from some neighbors who had tried them. We decided to check them…read moreout. The moment we entered the store we were greeted by a young lady by the name of Tyler. She spent a considerable amount of time using their equipment to analyze my wife's walking technology. She then spent considerable time asking my wife what she was looking for in a sneakers- in terms of fit and function. Tyler then brought out quite a few pair of different brands of sneakers. She and my wife analyzed each pair in terms of comfort and features. One thing that I found quite impressive was that Tyler had the discussion with my wife vs looking at me even though we were sitting together. Many other sales people in other stores tended to direct the conversation to me even though it was abundantly clear my wife was the customer. Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and personable and patient. She wanted to be sure all questions were addressed appropriately and in the end my wife did choose one of the pair Tyler recommended. This was a wonderful shopping experience and we would not hesitate to return to the Colonie store for future needs. Ask for Tyler if you go and we are sure you will also be impressed.

It had been ten years since I was last here, choosing more recently to shop for sneakers at the outlets instead. But I was not happy with the last pair I purchased at an outlet and desired to shop this time where I could rely upon an employee to search, instead of me, through the store's stock for what I was looking for. Vivian did just that. I explained what I was looking for, and described what features I wanted to avoid. She then retrieved from their stock several pairs that met all my criteria. After trying out all of them by walking throughout the store, I made my choice. But I wasn't finished yet. She had responded to an earlier question regarding arch support that none of the brands of sneakers the store carried had arch support. I therefore said I was interested in purchasing a separate pair of insoles that would be appropriate for my feet. She brought me to a 3D foot-scanning machine that showed the shape of my arches. Based upon that information she had me sample several different insoles that would address my needs. Once I made my choice she custom cut the appropriate pair of insoles and inserted them into the new sneakers I was buying. I got to also retain the insoles originally provided by the manufacturer. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Ten days have now passed and I'm quite satisfied with the feel and fit of my new sneakers.

Moving to the East Coast has required some adjustments... especially with regards to my shoes. I…read morelost part of the heel on a pair of leather Tory Burch boots did not hold up versus the snow very long, thus I found myself in need of shoe repair. 5 minutes on yelp later, I found Delmar bootery. I arrived on a Tuesday to drop off to drop off the boots to have the heel replaced. Service was prompt, efficient, and polite - the woman behind the counter took not a second longer than was necessary, which I know some may find off-putting, but I appreciated her efficiency. The boots were ready on Saturday AM to be picked up (just as they said), and the rubber replacement is much more suitable for the snow. They also appear to have shined them up a bit. I've already brought back two additional pairs of heels to be replaced since I appreciated the job that they did. The thing that most impressed me is that on one of the pairs had 2 options for a repair - a cheaper, simpler repair and a more thorough one - and the girl behind the counter (before I could ask!) took it back to show the cobbler in the back, then had him come up and discuss the options with me. They really want to make sure the repairs get done correctly, but also exactly as the customer wants. They do a stamp card for heel replacements - buy 6, get the 7th one free!

Smallish leather wallets from a brand I had never heard of were between $65 and over $100! I went to TJ Maxx in Latham and got one for $25, also genuine leather and Fossil brand. I will say the customer service here was excellent and the store is conveniently located In Stuyvesant Plaza, but wow, the prices were astonishingly high!

Normally my wife shops at the Lake George Outlet branch of their stores (they also have stores in…read moreVermont and Massachusetts) because the selection there is a little larger than our local Troy store, and there are so many other outlets to browse in. But the Troy store being closer to home can be utilized for picking up special order items or making exchanges. This saves a second drive to the north country. I recently changed my mind on some slippers that I had purchased at the Lake George location and brought them the next day to the Troy location to see what was available for an exchange. Staff were very helpful in identifying what I was looking for and I was able to immediately replace one pair of slippers while a second pair were located in their Manchester, VT store. Troy staff called Manchester and had them ship my order to the Troy store. The following day I received a phone message that the slippers had arrived from Manchester and were available for pickup. You can't beat service like that.

First thing I noticed when I walked in, the floors are covered with boxes, out in the aisles and stacked up everywhere. There were no other customers but the employees just seemed to be standing around, so they must have had no problem with it being like that? They ask you again and again, and again if you need any help, after I said no three times. I was simply just trying to look at the shoes and compare prices but they are extremely pushy like they just want you out of the store. Not to mention when you do get a moment to think they are slowly circling around you and staring at you, I'm guessing this is to make sure you aren't going to attempt to steal from them? For a place where everything is priced around 100-200 dollars I would expect better. Also didn't carry anything in my size, I was told we could order my shoe from another location and I would have to come back and pick it up.. but they sounded more annoyed and at this point I decided not to burden them any further with my presence.

I hate shoes. I hate shoe stores. I hate shopping for shoes. I hate having shoes on my feet…read more But dammit, summer is here, and I needed a pair of sandals. The only trouble is that I've never worn sandals before. For over ten years it's been flip flops until it snows. And then flip flops after the first thaw. And I wanted to find some sandals that were just like flip flops. They needed to be waterproof and let my toes fly free. But they also needed to offer better support, because I'm getting old and my beloved flip flops were no longer cutting it. Oh, and did I mention that I'm almost impossible to fit? My feet are huge weighing in at size thirteen, and thank to my maternal-grandfather I've inherited his genetic mutation of a hammer toe on my left foot. The morning I walked into Track N Trail I was desperate. I had already been to a few other stores in the mall, and they were my last hope. There was one lone clerk manning the store, and he worked tirelessly to get me into a pair of something called Chaco's. And by tirelessly, I mean that we must have tried on over a dozen different brands and styles of sandals until we found one that worked. Now, I know some people are happy to buy their shoes on Zappos.com. That's what people were advising me. But I needed a bit more hand holding than that. And I can assure you had I not had the guidance and support of an actual human being that morning, I never would have found my way to this particular pair of foot ware. Which I have to say, I'm starting to really love. Yes, they are crazy expensive for what amounts to a piece of rubber strapped to my foot with some nylon. But they are designed or approved by foot doctors, and they are everything I want in a flip flop, but in the form of a sandal. Thank you Track N Trail. I hope this pair of sandals lasts me for a million years so I never have to go shoe shopping again. But if I do, I'm coming here first.

My shoe shopping experience, and now my wifes normally goes as follows: I try out all the discount…read moreshoe stores first, and find that it's all crap. Then I try the department stores, and find the same sort of thing. I check on-line, get the shoe in the mail, try it on, hate it, then ship it back. Then I go to Track and Trail, find a shoe that I fall in love with, find that it costs only mildly more than the crap I was looking at, and buy it. They also sell other accessories, such as socks and shoe care products, all top of the line stuff. And not to forget, the service is always great. I've never had a bad experience shopping here, and at this point, most of my shoes, as well as my wife's Caterpillar (as in the bulldozers, and just as well made) boots have come from here.

Items carried: Sports goods All age/gender clothing Backpacks Socks Sneakers/shoes/cleats Outdoor equipment Jackets and outerwear Snow pants Swimgear Tennis/golf clothing Coolers similar to yeti Pros: Great deals Sale events on top of already discounted prices Can find discontinued items from dicks Exterior door and really close parking Cons: Resellers come from other states and buy out a lot of the inventory at this location. They come with their cell phone and buy out entire styles of clothing. It's really discouraging, because it left the store almost bare in July when I witnessed this predatory behavior that only continues to perpetuate inflation. One thing that is confusing is the curbside parking spaces as there is no way to purchase online from what I can gather. Definitely a must stop for back to school.
