Awesome place! So many different vendors and inventory to choose from! It's like a small mall!

Wits End in Clifton Park is a really neat, very expansive store. Every time I go in, I feel like I could walk around for an hour and still not see everything. They have all kinds of decorations, and if you are looking for unique Christmas ornaments or special decor pieces, this place is absolutely worth checking out. It is not just seasonal either, there are gifts and decorative items for all times of year. They even carry clothing. The prices are not cheap, but the store has an upscale aura and I personally do not mind paying more for items that feel unique and well chosen. It does not feel like a big box store, it feels more like a specialty shop where you find things you would not see everywhere else. I have heard people say the staff walk around and watch customers closely. Honestly, I can understand why. The layout has to be a security challenge, there are multiple rooms, different levels, and even an upstairs. I would imagine shoplifting could be an issue in a store set up like this. For me, the staff have always been friendly and helpful. I actually wonder how they keep track of where everything is in a place that big, that alone is impressive. Around Christmas time it gets very busy, which says a lot about how popular it is. I usually make it in about once a year during the holidays, but you could shop here anytime for unique gifts. The only thing that feels a little off putting to me is the number of signs about broken ornaments and being charged 50 percent if something is damaged. I do understand why they have them, a lot of people do not watch their kids closely and accidents happen, and adults break things too. Still, seeing the signs all over the place does change the feel a bit. That said, it definitely does not stop me from coming in. Overall, I really enjoy this store and always find something interesting when I visit.

This is the first year that they not only removed the price strip on the ornament tag and replaced it with a higher sticker price, but they also now charge you for the BOX THE ORNAMENT CAME IN. I also noticed they jacked up the price of some of the more affordable jewelry. I like to support local but next year I just will not be able to support this business and will purchase online from somewhere else.

I need to go back soon and get some treats for my family. Great place to go for holiday treats as they always have something festive for the next holiday. I hope they are open for many, many years to come! Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful shop. I would much rather support a local business first. Small business is very important to the economy and I appreciate all of the hard work these amazing people put in to build their business and keeping it active everyday, especially in these trying pandemic times. It can be scary to even go in stores but this one feels very safe to me. I saw their name on the Grubhub app, too! Would love to try chocolate delivery!! Will have to check that out. :-)

While I was in Mechanicville very recently, I decided to check out Park Avenue Confectionary to pick up a box of gourmet truffles for MOI- I heart truffles! I deserve a nice treat every now and then. This little chocolate and confectionary shop stocks homemade chocolates and candies including chocolate bars (white, milk chocolate, dark, etc), lollipops, special themes (molded chocolates), bagged chocolate covered candies, chocolate covered pretzels, dgift boxes, and baskets. They also carry sugar free varieties too. The prices here are very fair: $9.95/lb for chocolates and $14.95/lb for truffles. I've been to other chocolate shops near my home,, some of which charge almost double. The owner was very accomodating in helping me to customize and choose an assortment of truffles (24 pieces/12 oz box). There were around 20 choices of truffles to choose from, and I was pointing out what I wanted from outside the glass case. This was like choosing what kinds of donuts I wanted for an assortment (give me one glazed, two jelly, three cruellers, etc), you get the idea. The total came out to just under $14 with tax. I brought the box of truffles into work for ME to indulge on while I was crunching numbers and calculations at my desk (my coworkers are on their New Year's diet, hehe). Each of the truffles tasted very fresh and had a nice hard shell outside with creamy and rich ganache inside. The hazelnut was my favorite. The truffles went well with my daily cup of Starbucks Coffee. It took me the whole week to finish the box, munching on a few pieces each day. What a sweet week! Major credit cards accepted (including AMEX). CLOSED on Sundays

I've been…read moregoing there for a couple months and there is this old lady who has her own corner who is always taking bad about me whenever I am there. Today I went in and she was mad when I came in even though they were open for business. She kept saying under her breath shd had some stuff to do in her corner. She was angry about watching me and my sister as we were shopping because we she believed we would steal. You would think that as a returning customer she would know by now we are not like that. Sh then chose to talk behind my back to another worker about how I was just "browsing around" and not buying. Of course I have to "browse around" when there is a ton of stuff to sift through!!! She is a very racist women I would say based on my religion and the way I dress. My sister who has Down Syndrome went in with me last month. My sister was tired and sat on one of the old chairs. The same lady goes off my sister ranting with another worker yet again not realizing my sister has a disability. She said "why are they sitting if they won't buy". I'm disappointed at the lack of respect given to me as a customer. I will no longer go here again despite the good finds unless I am given an apology. Another note, I am a LOCAL OF COHOES IN HIGH SCHOOL.
