Both new roofs ended up leaking inside my home, (which is what I was trying to prevent/correct in the first place). I called multiple times to have someone come to view the damage done but never received a visit. One ceiling over the family room is spotted from leaks and I had to have the living room ceiling completely re-plastered due to a hole put into my main roof while working on the roof over the front porch. That porch roof was built using old buckled shingles and a gutter where all attachments are exposed. I haven't even mentioned what it cost me to have the roofing repaired, where possible, or the impact on other portions of the house such as torn screens and dented gutters. I would never recommend these contractors for roofing and most likely would never consider them for any other project.

What a fantastic job they did. These two are very conscientious about how they leave the work area at the end of the day. Each day they took the time to clean up after themselves. There was not one day that I had to go behind them and do anything. Once the plastering was done then they were on to putting our bathroom together. Throughout the whole project if they ran into a situation that they needed to make a change they always got me, explained it and stated their recommendation. He quoted $40,000 with a one‑month completion timeline. - August 1, 2028 - I signed a contract with Mr. Farra. He stated that work would begin on August 18, 2028, which was also the date my first payment was due. - In the interim, I requested that he also handle the electrical work. He estimated the cost at $1,782, which I paid in full. - Two weeks after August 18 - Mr. Farra informed me that the property had been inspected by the city and that permits were required. I instructed him to proceed with obtaining the necessary permits. - Three weeks later - No permits had been secured, and no work had been performed on the property. - September 17, 2028 - Mr. Farra claimed his electrician was on site and requested that I purchase electrical supplies. - September 22, 2028 - He texted me stating additional wiring was needed. In reality, no electrical work had been performed, and no permits had been pulled. - September 30, 2028 - I met Mr. Farra at Altoona City Code and Inspection to ensure the permit process was initiated. - October 15, 2028 - Mr. Farra sent me another electrical bill for $1,150, later discounted to $750. - November 28th - Mr. Farra falsely claimed the electrical work was completed and had passed inspection. - October 29, 2028 - I confronted him regarding the electrical he claimed to be completed and passed inspection. Nothing was done and no inspection passed. -No electrical work was done until November 8, when he scheduled an inspection for November 12, which failed. - November 9, 2028 - I requested a written plan of completion to provide to my renter, because I was about to loose my contract with the renter. Mr. Farra failed to deliver the plan and did not respond. Since then, I have requested the return of my property keys and a refund of the money paid. Mr. Farra has ignored these requests and continues to avoid accountability, engaging instead in evasive and misleading behavior.

He left the job after he received the bank's first draw and never returned. We sued him and won a judgement for $ 47,000.00. He then declared bankruptcy so he did not have to repay us. Beware of the contractor who starts the job with the intent to take money, leave and never finish. It is not a criminal offense if he starts the job, it is civil suit. We are not the first Mr. Bender has played the game with in his contracting career. We have talked to many who have fell victim to his scam.
