I ordered a couple bottles of wine (discoteca by Holiday) for pickup here because I couldn't find them local and saw them listed on their website. Online order was a breeze and once I realized it was a dessert shop with some souvenir-ish merchandise, I was excited to pick up the bottles. I swung by on Tuesday around noon and it was not very busy at all. I perused the dessert section and ended up getting a small cup of the chocolate peppermint soft serve. It was delicious and the perfect portion! The shop itself is cute, looks like it's a repurposed home and I enjoyed browsing through the merchandise. They had some interesting selections of wine and beer that I would definitely try next time.

TLDR: Flavorful, delicious popsicles with unique flavors. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to visit their Chapel Hill and Raleigh stores before they closed. However, some places in Raleigh do sell Locopops. Recently I found them at Riparian. I chose the Mexican chocolate and Key Lime Pie. The flavors are unique and taste delicious. The popsicles have strong flavors and ideal textures. They were pricy, but may be cheaper at the Durham location. Prices are comparable to other local Popsicle stores. The quality is high and exceeds those you can find at grocery stores. Overall, we enjoyed Locopops and recommend these popsicles to others!

I got the blueberry lavender pie and my kiddo got the strawberry lemonade popsicle, both were amazing! They have a surprising amount of awesome outdoor seating options that we took advantage of! Very family friendly and laid back vibe. Cashiers are always happy to give recommendations and patiently wait while you decide

Locopops did not disappoint. I took my pup on a long walk to and from Duke Gardens and decided to stop in to a popsicle on the way back to cool us down. My pup ordered the Pupsicle and I had the strawberries and cream. After my pup figured out how to eat the pupsicle she devoured it. I know she loved it because she is typically very well behaved but she attempted to get a bite of mine as well! Mine was delicious!

I'm not sure if this is a hidden gem in Durham, but it is a gem and you should go. Great non-dairy options, but I personally love the cream-based pops. They also have pup pops which include a rawhide bone, so please enjoy this picture of my pup eating a pop and make sure to bring yours to experience the same bliss.

I love Locopops. They have ice cream and some other stuff, but I've really only had the popsicles. The lemon curd is my favorite, it's a milky/lemon flavor. I've also had mojito, which is very refreshing. I would honestly try any of their flavors, after how much I've enjoyed the ones I have tried. They have a nice backyard area with grass and adironack chairs.

Ugh! The lemon curd pops are so good!!! It tastes like a block of frozen freshly made lemon curd- not watered down at all. It was about $3. I would highly recommend coming here if you have a sweet tooth and on a budget. They also have a small store at which they sell sundries. Their wares are a bit pricey for me, but all of the goods were unique and would make great gifts.

Vegan chocolate brownie and mint chip

The parking lot for this place was busy, but a much larger free lot with no apparent reason not to use it was across the street. Once inside, however, I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently business was done. They had dairy and non-dairy popsicles aplenty, but I went for ice cream, trying both a vegan chocolate brownie and a mint chip. I was kind of nonplussed with a portion size that allowed both of those to fit in a cup with a lid. The vegan flavor was definitely on the higher end of non-dairy ice creams I've tried. The first bite carried a few ice crystals but after that it was smooth and, well, creamy, with a rich flavor. The mint chip had some spearmint in it and I could see they were going for something a bit different but it didn't quite work for me. It wasn't strong enough, aromatic enough, the chips weren't plentiful enough. It just needed more. So if anything I think the vegan flavor was actually better (which was good since the amount of it in the cup was roughly 2/3 chocolate brownie to 1/3 mint). I didn't want to take a bunch of popsicles (though they will sell you a cooler if you want to transport them), but the ice cream would certainly merit a return. They had a little food market in the same building as well that's worth looking at.

This food truck came to my job every other week this summer. Their popsicles are absolutely delicious, and I tried every flavor. They offer a lot of flavors, and vegan options. Their customer service is amazing! She had so much patient with our students and did not rush them as they choose their flavors! I can't wait to visit their physical location soon.

I ordered the Milk malt ball and it was milky and creamy. It's most similar to ice cream if you're not looking for a fruity ice pop.

Jeni always has unique flavors (along with the staples of vanilla and chocolate)- there is something for everyone! Definitely consider mixing and matching flavors (they allow you to do 1, 2, or 3 half scoops for that purpose). No matter what store front you walk into, the smell of freshly baked waffle cones will hit your nose instantly. Signature trademark of Jeni's (to me). I love that you can get a cone, waffle bowl, or just a triangle sample of a waffle in your bowl! The flavors are always changing, from season to season, with a few main ones always in the store. The ice cream is smooth and velvety- while several have an added texture, depending on what's mixed in (cake, brownie, caramel, etc). The store always has a line, but it moves fast!! Some of my absolute favorite flavors include the gooey butter cake, salted caramel, and double dough. They offer both dairy-free and gluten-free ice cream. Customer service is friendly, and they don't mind at all if you sample a bunch of different flavors! Love that you can buy pints here to go (and that I'm seeing them in retail stores like Publix now)!

"Eastern-inspired ice cream and other sweets, next door to La Vaquita in Durham"…read more Stopped by this lovely shop at 7pm on a Saturday evening. The name a little hard to catch, but it's a small greenish building immediately beside La Vaquita on Chapel Hill Road (with the giant cow on the roof). The outdoor area is quite nice, with a fenced outdoor area having swings and other seating/ space for families. We were greeted quite warmly when we arrived. They had maybe ~15 flavors of ice cream or similar (will return to that in a second) as well as other sweets like baklava. But this is not your ordinary ice cream shop-- the flavors were unusual. Cucumber, date, and others caught my eye, but I didn't try those. Unlike one Yelp reviewer's comment, when we went, there was both a regular pistachio as well as a vegan pistachio option. I got something different-- I tried the falooda... a Persian inspired ice-cream-like dish with rose syrup and small cooked noodles. The texture is slightly like an italian ice, but the flavor was great. However, there's more-- on a table off to the side, there were separate lemon and cherry flavors that we were invited to try adding to the falooda. Let me tell you-- either addition turned a good dish into a heavenly dish! Sooooo good. Try it, but only if you're open to "this isn't just ice cream". There were also some wafer cookies to the side we were invited to have with our respective dishes. Seating inside was stools at benches facing a thin window bar-- outside is nicer if you have a big group and/ or if weather is nice, but it was fine. I did stop by the restroom briefly, and it was clean, too. Overall, definitely plan to come back to this eastern-inspired ice cream shop, and I encourage others to give it a try too!
