Decently priced for the area but the associates up front made me rent a unit. it was so nice speaking with Cheryl and Tiffany, they made me feel welcomed.

To start, the elevator ‍. You need a code to request the elevator every time. Mind you, you already put a code in to enter the gate, then another code to enter the building, then you need it a third time to request the elevator, over kill and a time waster, especially when you are paying moving companies by the hour. The elevator doesn't have a run/stop switch. Makes it hard to load an elevator moving in or out. If you prop the door open to fill it, it shuts the elevator down and the staff has to come reset it. I ended up switching one of my two units to a first floor unit strictly because of the time it took to do two loads up to the second floor. Issue two. I bought multiple locks from Home Depot so they are keyed the same. On my second month bill, I get a charge for locks from them. I called and said I supplied my own locks. Response was, there wasn't anything they could since I was already charged, but they'd credit me the following month. Good enough for me. Did they do it? Nope. Shows lack of any follow through. Issue three. Today I get a call saying they are overlapping my lock because they are missing a form. They have everything else signed and dated THREE months ago, but today they lock my unit, because they can't find it. Units are paid on auto pay, but one form on just of the units allows them to lock my goods up. Now they hadn't called me to let me know, before this, which is the professional thing to do. Instead, make it so I can't access it, even though the exact same documentation is on the other unit. Issue four. When I set up my units, I did autopay, just so I wouldn't be late or miss it, while we are in transition. They only auto drafted one of the units and I get a late notice with a late fee. I told the lady who I called that everything is autopay and that they took for one of the units, why not the other? Response has been par for the course, "not sure why, but we'll remove the late fee." I'm a huge supporter of local, small business, but in this case, go to the storage unit a block north and avoid this place at all cost. When I asked for a managers number or the owners contact to be emailed to me, since I'm on the road, I got a snarky answer from the lady at the desk and still no contact info. The owner has 5 reviews on here, the two good ones are a form letter response and no response to the negatives. That should give you an idea of the management.

This was a big move for me to be home with my family out of state. She was great that day in guidance, did believe a smaller size was suggested (just for the streets I was driving in the neighborhood but we spoke about switching size up that day should I make the wrong selection. The day of Reservation she wasn't present, no issue on that, but we did have a size issue. I even hired movers through Uhaul and after 2 hours of loading, personally went back in to reserve a trailer around 11:30 am, we were loading a 20' truck and knew we'd be out of room. Yes, the 26' was needed, but had to accept fault as we were loaded and had to pay another $260 to pull a trailer as I was moving out of state, sold my home, nothing could be left. We arrived to pick up the trailer at 3pm as reserved earlier, and found out there was "something wrong" with a fuse and the trailer blinker lighters weren't working. WE were then asked to drive the 20' Truck (?!) we rented, ourselves, to an AutoZone and buy "a part" (?! - though the representative Jackson Bowling couldn't tell us which one .. maybe 37 or 38?) and bring it back. We were also told by Jackson Bowling we'd be reimbursed for the part and given a discount for loss of time- "$50" What?! And who's gonna repair it if no one knows what the part is? Regardless as we had no choice, we drove to AutoZone as instructed- they couldn't look up a part on a Uhaul. They found a Sku for what part we were told it "may be" - but it had to be ordered. We even then called O'Reillys to check on a part- they said similar but with more detail- as Uhaul changes their trucks from standard "Ford models" it's not even something to look up. As it was now 4:30 pm and UHaul closed at 5pm, we returned to speak with Jackson. He said there was nothing he could do, just refund us for the trailer as he couldn't dispatch the trailer to us. The manager was out of town, he DIDN'T give us the menial $50 discount already mentioned, NOR reimburse us for the part we had to buy to check the Circuit Breaker ON OUR OWN (Receipt in hand). He told us to go to the Prosper location and I refused. We're NOT driving the truck to another location without knowing if they had the proper tools/ parts/ mechanics available. Again, said nothing he could do and I demanded he call them before we drove there. Relentingly, he finally called 2 other locations who stated no one was available to help. WHAT?! We were fully loaded in a 20' Truck that wasn't checked/ maintained before renting, had to leave at 7 am for a 10hr drive? What were we supposed to do with the extra? We couldn't leave in home as it was sold, and didn't even have a vehicle to transport the additional for donation let alone at now 5pm on a Sunday? He told us only option was to call Roadside Assistance now. I also asked about the discount and reimbursement promised- told me to send an email to the Manager Donna Jackson and she'd address when she returned. We get BACK to the house, now almost 2 hours later, and call Roadside Assistance- speak to Greg, who says !!! "We can't fix the Truck if you don't have the Trailer" WHATTTT?! Jackson wouldn't dispatch it, didn't have a Manager or RDM to call- "Nothing he could do" SENT US HOME SAYING "Call Roadside Assistance" to now find out we had to have the Trailer (we rented, and refunded) in order to create a ticket?! "WELL WHAT DO WE DO NOW!" -"You have to rent and pick up another trailer then call Roadside to fix." ARE WE KIDDING. It's now 6:30pm AND UHAUL'S ARE CLOSED. So we have to go to a dealer.. a legit farm 20 minutes away (in the 20' Truck again mind you, our mileage and gas!) and "see if they'll let us leave with the lights not working. I asked, "Isn't it illegal to drive without?" Agent "Yeah, you could get a ticket. But you can wait there for Roadside Assistance" OMG. And what if they can't fix it?! "We have to cross that bridge when we get there that's all we can do." We reserved, drove to 2nd Dealer 30 minutes away, they gave us a thumbs up and let us drive away. We got back again to the home, checked, nothing working not even Brake Lights. With a 10 hour drive we refused to risk safety of other drivers and ourselves (although Uhaul allows it) and called Roadside Assisstance again. We finally had someone show up after 8pm, and he determined the problem, had to go get the correct part, and it wasn't fixed/signed off on until after 9pm. SIX HOURS. THAT LITTLE ELM AUBREY caused us. Plus mileage, loss of loading time/ exhaustion. We had to then get up at 5am to start loading again and couldn't leave for the 10 hr drive until after 2:30pm -and THEN we discovered the Oil was leaking from back (obvious Bad Silicone job attempt) and splattered all over the back end of the truck/ ground. HORRIBLE UHAUL.

Negative stars would be accurate. I had the worst customer service experience of my life…read more I'm an interior designer and I needed to haul things to Austin for an install. I called and tried to get a hitch installed with a pull along long trailer. The Prosper location said there were multiple in the area and that they could install that day, would call me back to verify. Never heard back from him, called the next morning and was informed he was now out of town and would not be back available to do a setup until Tuesday morning. I could go to the Richardson location and drop my vehicle off in the morning and pick it up at the end of the day. I watched the video on how to install a hitch and it is literally 6 bolts and I probably could have done it myself but I didn't want to risk it. No time frame could be given other than you can pick it up at the end of the day. My next solution then was to rent a truck and use a pull along dolly for my car, not ideal but would get the job done. We went to U-Haul in Prosper and three kids tried to set this trailer up and we're not having any success. They went into the store to try to get the manager help them multiple times and he never came out. After about 20 to 30 minutes of them trying to get my car on this dolly they assure me that everything is set up correctly. In Austin and the car came off of the dolly and got lodged on the trailer fender. We had my dogs in the car that was being towed and my daughter was with me, it was 9:00 at night and I called U-Haul roadside assistance and they said it would take $250 for someone to come out to help me. Thankfully we were not far from my friend's house and they and the kindness of strangers figured out how to get the car off of this situation, cut the chain that was holding the car. The left side tire the bootstrap had completely come off, the chains had come off the other side which is why the car was lodged that way. I kept getting disconnected from Representatives at U-Haul. I still have the truck full of the items for my project so I needed to get it dropped off the next morning. The dolly is bouncing around on the back since there is nothing on it so I felt very unsafe driving it. I went to the U-Haul closest to my friend's house and the person told me that they don't take trailers. Didn't even try to help in any way shape or form. They just don't accept trailers. Fine. I went to another location closer to my project off Manor Rd and the guy was rude and said that they don't take truck and trailer separately and I would have to call Uhaul. I was on the phone holding for you all for 25 minutes, he came back out, I asked him to help me take off the dolly hitch and he turned around and left me standing there alone and frustrated to figure it out. Again, customer service hung up on me. I finally figured out how to get it off and left it there, a manager called from corporate and I gave her a full report of the whole situation and told them where the trailer was located and the situation. I then get a call and a voicemail from someone at uhaul saying if I don't come up and pick up this trailer immediately I would be charged double for it. I get everything unloaded from the project and then attempt to set up delivery of the truck. I speak with several agents, and hung up on several times, frustrating beyond belief. One agent in particular named Cynthia told me they would charge me double for the trailer and that I would have to drop the truck off 30 minutes from my location. She was probably one of the worst customer service agents I've ever spoken with. She kept arguing with me. I then get a text message that I can drop off the vehicle at the 620 location in Lakeway. This could have potentially been a fatal accident! That car had come off of the dolly on the interstate there could have been multiple incidences of fatalities! I was disgusted with this entire company and every single person who I spoke with had absolutely no Spirit of service and should not be IN customer service! I am so disappointed with the entire organization.

What I thought would be a smooth, professional moving experience turned into an absolute nightmare…read more The movers assured me that they would take very good care of my furniture and even suggested that I not purchase the additional valuation coverage because they felt it wouldn't be needed. I trusted them, and unfortunately that trust turned out to be a costly mistake. My very expensive furniture, which was in excellent condition before the move, was damaged, along with my walls. What should have been a simple moving experience has turned into frustration and back and forth trying to get the damage fairly addressed. Because i did not purchase their additional coverage, they are limiting their responsibility to $0.60 per lb, and i have had to repeatedly go back and forth with them over the weight of my furniture. It is incredibly frustrating to have to argue over the weight of furniture that was damaged while in their care. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. The initial moving experience may have seemed smooth, but what matters is how a company handles things when something goes wrong. This has been extremely disappointing. My advice: do your homework, read the fine print, and do not rely solely on what the movers tell you about additional coverage. I wish i had known then what i know now.
