I went here for the first time last night. I've passed by Local Table a couple of times prior and it caught my attention because of the conspicuous, lit-up CTX sign inside. It looked like a pretty basic restaurant, and I wasn't expecting much, but the Crispy California Chicken burger was really tasty. The fries it came with were alright - some were perfectly cooked, some were way too crispy like chips. My friend got the Chipotle burger and the frose, and said both were tasty as well. 5/5 for great service and atmosphere. read more

I always have a pleasant experience here. From the staff, to the manager, the atmosphere, to the food! I will come again and again. The restrooms are clean and they have indoor or outdoor seating. My favorite dishes are the tacos, pizzas, salmon, chicken wraps and side house salad. Brunch mimosas and breakfast tacos on the weekend are great too! Family friendly atmosphere and clean. This place has overrated written all over it. It has a nice atmosphere, with nice decor and pretty good service. No flaws on that end. But the food-- which is the most important part, was subpar. I ordered the california crispy chicken sandwich and the presentation was nice. It looked like pretty good with a shiny brioche bun and some slaw, bacon, and fried chicken. But there was one thing lacking. There was almost no sauce, no flavor, and it was literally as if I was biting into bread with some veggies thrown onto a fried chicken, which was also dry. And the worst thing is that it cost $13. I can find a better chicken sandwich elsewhere for half that price, and with everything else on the menu being priced around $15, it'll be hard to find something worth what you spend. Probably won't come here again, really nothing special going on here. Don't add the word "Local" hoping that the food you make will magically turn into something you see at real, authentic farm to table restaurants. read more

High quality food made fresh. Such a cute spot to have in the area. It's decorated cute with the CTX in lights on the wall and the indoor/outdoor bar is genius! Some notable menu items we have tried are the Brussels sprouts which are delicious; the tomato basil soup tastes just like hungry's recipe which is to die for; pizzas are good and from a wood fired oven and my husband throughly enjoyed his monster of a burger. Nestled in a beautiful shopping area, open and inviting, with a bar to die for, Local Table has only one problem. It's so far away from my home and I'd eat here everyday if it were close to me! The lemonade was fresh and refreshing, the chicken tortilla soup came full of fall veggies and bursted with flavor! My mom and I shared the veggie sandwich on wheat. THICK wheat! I am a carnivore and I'm surprised that I didn't miss the meat at all. With plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, this local cypress spot is truly a Cypress treasure. I'm jealous! read more

Visited Local Table Cypress for the first time 6/11/21. I made reservations the day before as I expected Friday at 7pm to be a fairly busy time for the restaurant. Boy was I ever right! It also just happened to be the same night as they have the food truck gatherings and live music there at the Bridgeland Shopping district, so it was very crowded. Parking was atrocious and I had to park what seemed like a half mile away, but I was warned about the terrible state of parking beforehand so I was prepared. I arrived promptly at 7pm but ended up standing in 6 party deep line to even get to the hostess stand. I'm hearing the hostess tell those before me that the wait is up to an hour to get a table. I'm thinking to myself "Good job making those reservations!" and when I get to Hostess I find out that even with a reservation, the wait will be 25-30 minutes. Disappointed does not even begin to describe what I was feeling. But what was I to do... Apparently, after an explanation from a Host, I learned that reservations are not "really" reservations. They simply put on priority seating once you arrive at the restaurant. Therefore, my name was on the list in front of a long, long list of non reservation people. So at least reservations got me to the front of the line. Thank goodness for that. To kill some time, we went and browsed through the food trucks and other vendors for awhile and then returned about 25 min later and were seated at our table shortly after that. So the dinner hadn't started of in the best of fashion, but that's before we met Diane. So after we fumble with that QR code menu thing on our phones (TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE... Menus Please!!!), Diane comes and introduces herself as our server. She turned out to be the very BEST thing about Open Table. She helped to decide what we wanted, explained what the items were, made recommendations based on my friend's low-carb dietary needs, and gave us confidence that we would be pleased with what we ordered. We had the Baked Goat's Cheese and Sweet Chili Roasted Brussel Sprouts to start and it was delicious. Actually, that Goat's Cheese is sinfully delicious! I might would have preferred it with the pita bread vs the baugettes, but it was oh soooo good. The Brussel Sprouts were tasty... but we found the burnt ones were the best out of the bunch... they should burn them more! lol For entrees we had the Meatloaf and the Kabob's. The mushroom sauce over the mashed potatoes on the meatloaf plate is really really good... Being a meat and potatoes guy, I would have liked a larger portion of the mashed with mushroom sauce (mainly because it was sooo good). The meatloaf was good, but overpowered by the really sweet tomato sauce. The vegetable mix was was a bit dry and bland, maybe like it had been sitting for awhile, but I through salt and pepper on it and into my belly it went! The kabob plate on the other hand was superb all the way around. My friend ordered extra vegetables instead of rice (low-carb) and this plate came PACKED! A skewer of beef and an skewer of chicken. Grilled perfectly with an awesome flavor! There was a mix of brussel sprouts, green beans, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, and a roasted tomato as well. Way more than a person could eat! Diane continuously checked on us and never let our tea glasses run empty (a very nit picky thing for me, and she excelled at it!) And at the end of the dinner, because it was our first time there, she brought us they special croissant bread pudding drizzled with caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream. OMG! Incredibly decadent! And because my friend was low-carb and really couldn't partake of the dessert, Diane brought a small cup of whipped cream and strawberries instead. I can't tell you how long it's been since I had service like this at a restaurant! Diane was an absolute treasure! Although the dinner didn't start out well, it finished in a spectacular fashion with my friend and I being stuffed and feeling like royalty with way we were served by Diane. I will return to try the other tasty things on their menu and will always make sure to ask for Diane as my server.... and you should too! read more

Food is good, they do not have a "Happy Hour" menu at the time of this writing. I think a Happy Hour menu from 4:30-6:30 would be perfect and would help with more guests before dinner. They will of course charge gratuity on tables with 6+ guests check your tab before you give an "extra" tip, or be generous and tip away. read more

Fruit flies (aka gnats) joined myself and 5 friends for dinner this evening. We literally swatted over our food and beverages the entire time. Our very kind server told us that it's an ongoing problem here and turned the lights down a little per our request to see if that would help. It didn't. We eventually asked to speak to a manager because surely management is not aware of this issue. If they were, they would not have sat us at the high bench in the very back where the fruit flies are a problem, right?? Wrong. The manager told us they are aware and proceeded to list out everything they do after hours to treat the restaurant. He even pointed out the door by us that is a problem. So again, I wonder why we were sat at this table? A simple fix is to not sit anyone at this table until the issue is under control. Now I know why it was the only table open during an extremely busy Saturday night. Our reservation earned us the worst seat in the restaurant. I was unable to finish my dinner, I'm still itching as I type this from fighting flies, and worst of all I wasted my money on food I couldn't even eat. Very disappointed! I love the food, but for the love of God please trim the ends of your green beans!! YoU should know better! Update: It may not seem like a big deal to you but when you pay good money to eat somewhere you definitely don't want to be swallowing what feels like cat claws going down your throat. Decor: huge televisions at the bar. If that's your thing then it's a positive. For me, it's a turnoff for what feels like it should be more organic and homegrown. The music was very loud and the acoustics are terrible given the open ceiling concept. Because of the crowd, it all made for a loud dining experience. Menu: okay variety and selection. The three of us didn't have any problem making a decision given the choices that suited all of us. The menu has nothing really notable though. Service: not great, not poor but a solid...okay. We had to ask several times for refills of drinks and all of our dirty plates were pushed to the side of the table, not to be picked up until we almost left. Food: the Brussels sprouts were cooked to perfection but very heavily sauced. The chicken salad was good but a normal good, not extraordinary. The avocado toast with salmon was a huge portion and my friend only ate half. It was okay. The other half she left and did not take to go. I had the avocado, bacon chipotle burger and it arrived without the bacon and without the avocado. The meat flavor was okay. I asked for the bacon and got it when I was about half way done with the burger and never got the avocado. Instead of fries, I asked for veggies which were broccoli and cauliflower neither had been seasoned and were almost served just on the side of raw. If in the area I would most likely not go back. Nothing terrible, just nothing really exceptional and pretty middle of the road. read more

Loved our experience tonight. Great atmosphere. Promptly greeted by hostess, taken to our table. Great server who quickly got us our drinks and our delicious goat cheese app. My whiskey bitters was absolutely delicious. I had the Tuscany chicken and it was amazing. My husband had the beef kabob and it was just okay (maybe beef over cooked) everything else was amazing, the fresh pita bread was great, the rice delicious. Then finished with a fabulous Kaluah cappuccino and key lime pie. So grateful this is here in the neighborhood can't wait to go back . ***update*** Went back for a second time tonight. Sat at the bar and did carry out. Everything we had was absolutely amazing tonight. The drink I had at the bar was amazing. Don't remember what I had but it had cucumbers in it and I loved it. My wife and I went on opening day. They had a soft opening the night before, and decided to go for it the next day - good move! We are familiar with Local Table because we used to eat at Hungry's in Memorial and were so glad to finally have a good quality restaurant in Bridgeland. We've been here several times now and have never been disappointed. The service has always been good and the food is delicious. We've had the Brussels sprouts, goat cheese, hummus, gyro plate, burgers, kids chicken fingers and pasta and have enjoyed it all. Today I took my kids for brunch. They were looking for pancakes, but there aren't any. Instead they had the traditional breakfast and I had the smoked salmon and mimosa flight. Delicious! For brunch, they also had a toast and pickled "veggie" bar that we enjoyed. Love that this gem is I out neighborhood. We'll definitely be back. read more
