I rarely write reviews but was left extremely impressed with the professional work ethics of Local Rooter and Plumbing. I got an immediate response for my them when I called in regarding a leak in one of my bathroom sinks. They were accommodating in the time changes that I had to keep requesting and were extremely prompt. The job was completed within the hour where they got a replacement faucet and supply lines and fixed it as well. Thank you !! read more

We had some problems with our drain pipes. They came out the same day we called and we had working plumbing again by dinner time. Alex did an impressive amount of work in a tiny cramped crawlspace in one day. He was fast, professional, and friendly. I would call Local Rooter & Plumbing again next time I need any plumbing work done! read more

I was walking around my kitchen until I noticed my hardwood floor boards raised near the sink. My heart drops, I proceed to open the cabinets and low and behold, I see a steady leak that has likely been building up for weeks. The floor boards were soaking up the water like a sponge.. This was a Friday evening. I mass messaged a bunch of local plumbers, Duy and Johnny immediately responded. We scheduled for 8pm. Talk about not being complacent and still wanting business! Johnny arrived and expertly assessed the problem and suggested we try simple solutions first. He was very honest, skilled, and even charismatic for the cherry on top. He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese AND Vietnamese. Anyway, he fixed the problem in a matter of minutes. I appreciate their professionalism and honesty. Will be using them for future issues. Highly recommended. read more

Sunday - 10/16/22 - Andy showed up to do an estimate of the storm drain cleaning in the backyard. I took him around the backyard, showed him the storm drain to be cleaned out/ sump pump as described in the job write up. He went to his van in my driveway to write up the estimate. He then called me as he was driving away saying his boss was unavailable to provide an estimate. Said he'd get back to me with an estimate in short order. Drove away and never from Andy / this company again? Wasted my afternoon and they never provided an estimate, call back, explanation or service. Be hesitate to use this service provide, in particular, if you've provided all the details of the project upfront & they leave you "high and dry" after making promises to follow up. read more

My parents house fire sprinklers pipe was broken and water was bursting out. Duy is a LIFESAVER!!!!!! I am a new homeowner, so everything can easily seem catastrophic and major, and my situation was no exception. Sat night I was gone for all of 3 hours and came home to a flooded bathroom floor. After sopping up all the water, I see that the water is leaking in under the floor behind my toilet. I didn't know what to do, I panicked. I went to yelp to find an emergency 24 hour plumber (it was nearly 11 pm at this point). Duy answered (THANK GOD, because most 24/7 advertised companies didn't) and was at my condo within a half hour. He was so nice and so patient and kept telling me, everything will be fine, don't you worry! Duey showed me how to shut off the main water line to my condo, and promised to return in the morning to further diagnose the issue. He also suggested I contact a restoration company ASAP to start the process of removing the moisture from the wall to avoid any future damage. I was having some difficulty making contact with the restoration company and Duey was texting with me until nearly 1 o clock in the morning until we got everything sorted out and promised to come at 9 am on Sunday. Sunday Duy shows up and HE BOUGHT ME TOWELS!!!! Who does that!? How nice is that?! He noticed I used up all my towels the night before drying up all the water, and stopped at home depot and brought me an entire pack of them. After turning the water back on and seeing the leak was no longer an issue, we concluded there was no need to bust the wall open and check my pipes (later on we found out the issue was that my neighbor behind me flooded their bathroom and it seeped under the floor into my unit). From here on out, Local Rooter and Plumbing is my absolute go to for anything water or piping related. The service and comfort I received during an incredibly stressful moment is something I'll never forget. THANK YOU DUY! read more

I moved in a apartment that been vacant 2 yrs and our tub in the master got clogged and took hours to drain. I reached out to Local Rooter & Plumbing late in the evening and they arranged to be over early next morning between 10-11am. Jaime came to our rescue and was completely professional and explained everything he was doing as our previous plumbers didn't really talk to us at all. He even cleaned the tub when he finished which was beyond great. He also gave us little helpful tips for the future if this were to happen again and how to catch it early on. If I ever need a plumber again I will absolutely call Local Rooter & Plumbing. Thank you guys so much for being professional, so very kind, quick, and great overall. read more

Jaime came out the same day to check a clogged sewer pipe. It turned out roots had blocked the entire thing and they couldn't jet it or break up the roots with a cutter. They ended up having to replace the whole thing and did it quickly and with a fair price! Will absolutely use them again for plumbing needs! read more

Our shower was not getting hot and so we called Local Rooter and Plumbing and they came out same day and fixed the issue on the spot. They were very nice and professional and we would definitely recommend for any plumbing needs. They also were transparent about the costs over the phone and were consistent with those prices once the work was done. read more

I woke up to some water dripping down from my garage ceiling. Overnight the water collected to about a gallon. Sent out requests on Yelp and chose Local Rooter to come by for an estimate. Alex from Local Rooter showed up in about an hour to look at my leak. We decided to make a 8"x8" diagnostic cut right below the leak and it was spot-on. The source of the leak was right there; a pinhole leak from a three-way connector. The job needed a three-way cut to replace the joint. Overall the job took a bit over an hour with rough patching up of the ceiling. I always thought my dentist's fee is high until now. This plumbing job's rate is almost twice as my dentist's hourly fee. Almost $400 to fix this straight-forward leak with about $10 in parts. I'm glad the leak is repaired in the same day but this cost is a bit outrageous so I won't call on Local Rooter next time for my plumbing need. read more

These guys are simply amazing. Johnny was the technician that helped me and I could not ask for better service or quality. I highly recommend contacting these folks for any plumbing needs - big or small. I specifically had Johnny come out to take a look at a shower diverter valve that I managed to totally destroy by "fixing" it myself. I broke the entire thing apart inside the wall. The communication leading up to the appointment was excellent. I was sent text messages confirming the date and time and Johnny was very punctual. He took a look and let me know that he would do his best to fix my mess, but if he could not fix it he would not charge me. That was way MORE than fair as far as I was concerned. I would have paid for his expertise and time even if my mess-up could not be quickly resolved. Ultimately, I did damage the valve beyond quick repair and as promised he stated he was not going to charge for his time. He gave me a quote to come back and replace the entire valve which required cutting into the wall opposite my shower. He also instructed me to go and purchase a new faucet at a local store so that I had one that I liked. One week later he came back and again the communication was excellent and Johnny was right on time. He was very efficient and his workmanship was top notch. Not only did he completely replace the diverter valve, but he also installed the tub faucet and shower head. That was not at all expected and was an excellent bonus! The price was excellent, the service and professionalism were top notch. I will be calling these guys for ALL of my future needs and referring as much as possible. read more

Don't use them. We had asked them to come and look at our toilets which were overflowing. Their technician told us that the sewer pipe was broken and would need a replacement, and that was the cause of overflow. During the process, this technician was utterly rude, never explained his course of action for a resolution, and kept on telling that this was a big project, and kept on escalating the price to fix it. When he left, the problem was not fixed, and his work resulted into a spill. We had to get another company to look at the same issue, and they found out that it was excessive use of the toilet paper which had caused the problem, and that our sewer pipes were good for another 20-years. The problem was fixed within an hour. Stay away from them. read more

Had an after hours back up, and these guys were so responsive. After trying about 5 companies, it was a relief I got through to someone here and he had a tech out in about 30 minutes. If you're scanning reviews, then the bottom-line is that Local Rooter & Plumbing arrived quickly - and they did a great job getting my main sewer line open quickly. After taking a shower, my son says, "Hey Dad...the water is not draining in the shower". Oh great. I immediately checked the tub on the other side of the wall, and it had several inches of water in it, too. I responded to my son to not flush a toilet. Initially, I called a rooter company I had used two years ago - and had liked. But, they were booked until Thursday. Since it was Tuesday, waiting was a non-starter. I checked for another rooter service and came across Local Rooter & Plumbing. I liked seeing all of the positive Yelp reviews, so I called them. They picked up the phone and had someone to my house within about 60-90 minutes. The first guy did not have the right equipment (possibly because on the initial call I mentioned the standing water in the tub - and them possibly thinking a smaller snake was all that was needed). The service tech on-site called another service tech (Johnny) who showed up within minutes. Within moments, Johnny knew just what to do. Instead of a tradition heavy-duty powered snake, he broke out a high-pressure water-jet set-up that made quick work of clearing-out the main sewer line. In addition, I happen to also have a clogged-up underground corrugated hose that had been set-up to take the rain water from a downspout and deliver it to the sidewalk area. It must have gotten clogged-up by all of the particles from the roof tiles - maybe some leaves. It's been clogged for 2-3 years, and it's been a watery mess next to the porch when it rains. Johnny attacked it from both ends with the water jet, and he got it completely cleared-out. Icing on the cake! Johnny was professional and personable the whole time. The cost was reasonable for what I asked them to do. I recommend Local Rooter & Plumbing - and I will likely call Johnny back in the future should my main sewer line (or underground downspout line) get clogged again. read more

Leaving this review for Jaime. We unfortunately had a clogged line and everything backed up. Literally everything! Jaime initially came on a weekend and cleared the line but unfortunately there were other previous issues that caused a back up again. He came back the day before Thanksgiving and it was later in the evening. Each time Jaime was very professional, knowledgeable, communicative, and kind. He was very respectful of the property and being as quiet as he could and efficient. I mentioned the quiet part because we have a baby and dog in the home. Our baby was sleeping/napping both times Jaime came but she never woke from any noises. Similar to what another reviewer wrote, they clean up after themselves. I was around after the first initial visit and I could hear Jaime cleaning up thoroughly and rinsing things down. I appreciate that more than anything. That's service!! It was a clogged line and back up from toilet and sinks and other gross stuff coming up and just sat there but Jaime took care of and cleaned it up and after as just a professional and kind person. Really appreciate the quick and efficient service and kindness especially when we have an infant at home! read more

We had a kitchen sink that would not drain. Duy immediately picked up my call last night and advised that they had calls lined up for the next several hours and could not make it out to our home until around 1pm the next day. I provided my contact information and address. Just to follow up the next morning, I texted Duy to re-confirm the time. Again, he was responsive and I did not have to wait long for a reply. He advised he will send Jaime out and will arrive around 1:20. Jaime showed up on time with a mask on and with disposable shoe covers. He tested the other water sources near the kitchen to make sure the problem was not systemic. Luckily, it was isolated to the kitchen sink. Jaime brought in the drain snake tool in and found that there was a blockage well past the u-pipe under the sink. He used the tool twice to clear the blockages and ran it around 30 feet. Problem solved! No more blockage at the kitchen sink and the water now drains. Jaime provided me with a tip to pour some baking soda and vinegar down the drain once a week and to chase it with hot water to prevent grease from building up on the walls of the pipes and to be sure to use the strainer to prevent big chunks of food from going into the pipes. This company does not charge an hourly rate! We only paid a flat fee that Duy quoted us the previous night and the fee did not change when we made the payment after the work was completed! I would HIGHLY recommend Local Rooter & Plumbing for any emergency plumbing needs! Thanks Duy and Jaime! read more

Tai came over to take a look at the drainage issues we were having. He was very courteous and explained what was happening. He quoted us a very reasonable price. Overall a great experience with Miles from Local Rooter fixing a badly clogged kitchen sink on a Sunday! Excellent service! The owner responded to our call in less than 10 minutes. Fixed our water heater in less than 15 minutes and gave us tips on how to avoid the same thing happening again. Another plumber (prior to calling Rooter) advised us that we would need major repairs costing from $700.00 (or potentially a new water heater which he was unable to install until the following week. Horrible, incompetent and nasty. We needed a small job done and someone other than the owner showed up. He insulted us by saying how crappy our pipes are. He then proceeded to do a half ass job installing a faucet and tub spout. When it turned the tub spout didn't fit, he blamed us for not having the right part. We had asked him if he could go get the part. He said no need, any tub spout should work. Well, that was not the case. Maybe if you had a big job and the owner shows up, you get good service. But we had a horrible time with whomever they sent over. read more

David was fantastic. Our house was entirely backed up, and when we called him around 5:30pm on a Monday evening, he showed up within an hour. He offered us options for what services he could provide and made recommendations. I just want to write this review for Local Rooter & Plumbing because of their professional service. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area that needs service even though my water heater is not even fixed. My hot water heater broke out of nowhere (and only one and half years new). I called Local Rooter and they were able to come in the same day to give an analysis. Even though the parts took awhile to come in, Paul came in yesterday (Sunday) and try to fix it. Even though it is not fixed, Paul said he would come out the next day on Monday and get the engineers of my water heater manufacturer on the phone to go through it with him. Even when this did not work out, he recommended another plumbing company who is more professional in the brand that I have (Rinnai, please do not ever get this brand of water heater, it is really bad. I had no choice as my builder put it in with the house) with no charges. I also asked him to give me recommendation of new water heaters, and Paul went to the plumbing stores and send me what they have available. Even though I still have no hot water right now, I was very happy with this company's service. They are not here just for your money. They are here to help you even if it means to recommend another company on what they can't accomplish. I think that is as high of professionalism as you can do. I very much appreciate it. Now I need to decide if I should just get a new water heater instead of continue to deal with this crap brand. read more

I set up a consultation to look at my toilet and leaky valve. And they were 2 hours late for this. Upon determining what work needed to be done, we set up a time to actually perform the repair. Because I live in a complex, I needed to alert my neighbors in the rest of the units when the water was going to be shut off. I relayed this to the plumber and he assured me that the time could be met. I followed up on the day that the repair was supposed to be made and it was as if they had never received my initial request. The plumber called and said that he remembered speaking with me during the consultation but the voice over the phone did not match the plumber that did the initial consultation. Overall, i don't know if I can trust them read more

I have never dealt with a better contractor in my 40 years of such engagements. They are that good. Furthermore, the better you treat them the better they treat you. (It sounds like the converse is true too.) Example: yesterday I had a bathroom leak that I couldn't trace. Duy (one of their managers) came and fixed it for free. Great guy. Efficient work. He wouldn't even take a tip. This is the third or fourth time that I've used their service. Excellent work and a surprisingly low price every time. Quick response too. What more could one ask? BAIT N SWITCH, $200 (50%) MORE EXPENSIVE. I've dealt with many plumbers, appliance repairmen, handymen, etc. and this company is by far the worst ever and super shady. I called for an estimate on sink and faucet replacement and was told $175. Paul calls about 1.5 hours before his appointment and says he needs to come now so I rush back without even completing my grocery shopping. He then tells me the quote is actually $600 ($175 for faucet removal, $175 for sink replacement, and $250 if I want to keep my garbage disposal). This bait n switch tactic is pretty typical for this company (do yourself a favor and sort their Yelp reviews by lowest first and you'll see that a lot of women have been taken advantage of this way). This was the most expensive quote I got - $500 from a handyman who subcontracts to a plumber and $400 from Plumbing Guys. So had they just been honest with me over the phone, we would not have wasted anyone's time. The worst part is that Paul then agreed that if I paid $300 in cash (which I did not have at the time), he could come back and do the job. So I took time off from work, but he NEVER SHOWED UP! read more
