Fortunately today there was a community yoga class (Swift Fit Events), plus a succulent class (East side succulents). This allowed us the opportunity to explore and enjoy the property. We brought our mother along to enjoy, and she quickly made friends. There is a lovely market filled with fresh produce, plus other local goods. Everyone was friendly, and helpful. My daughter loved to corn pit and while the rain picked back up, the staff ushered us all under covering and into the corn pit. The food was solid and thankfully not overpriced. The pumpkin patch, games like football toss, basketball free throws, and others were good attractions. We were also able to ride the train and feed the goats and donkeys. The corn maze was in shambles after the storm from the night before and the whole farm was a mud pit, but seeing my daughter have a good time was fully worth it.

I highly recommend Sparkle Farm to anyone that enjoys watching people move dirt around for no reason. I also highly recommend Sparkle Farm if you want to get dirty by proxy. Be sure you leave your shoes on the deck so they get rained on. You're not at Sparkle Farm unless you are dirty AND wet. For those wanting a bit more information, the Sparkle Farm is a progressive plantation, rich with Texas native pecans, ancient dinosaur fossils, and old, filthy wigs covered in sticks and leaves. The "farmers" that run Sparkle Farm don't seem to care if you have any credentials when you trespass on their property. Just don't speed down Springdale and DO NOT try and steal their corn in the middle of the night.

Cars zoom past like they're running away for their lives, but I risked my life for the giant squirrel statue sitting on the side of the road. What is this thing and what is the store attached to it? I had to see. Birthday weekend energy. Inside, the first thing that hits you is that massive pecan scented candle filling the whole store. They did this on purpose. It feels like a cozy Hallmark movie. The place smells delightful and that scent makes you want to buy something. Makes you ready to sample everything in sight. You deserve this. The store has everything: pecan pies, pecan candy, shelled/unshelled pecans, jams, jellies, hot sauces, toys, Texas branded/themed everything...you name it. It's all specialty, all cute, and all priced like it. I grabbed my niece two grenade-shaped hot sauces from "The General" brand because they were trendy and hilarious. But YIKES...Fifteen dollars each. Why, why, WHYYYYYYYY???? I gently reminded myself that Christmas is coming and delusion is part of the season. The staff was unbelievably friendly. They nudged you to sample this, try that, taste this. But beware because that southern hospitality will have you spending money you know you shouldn't or know you don't have. Once the total in my head started climbing, I called it and marched to the register before I got reckless. All in all, it's a fun little stop to stretch your legs, snack on some samples, and pick up something quirky. Pace yourself!
