During our Main Street tour, we stopped in for a tasting after visiting another 290 winery just down from you. The experience couldn't have been more different. They had a blast and the staff shared her experience/knowledge about her personal favorite wineries in the area. I am partial to William & Chris, Ron Yates, Adega Vinho, Ferris & Fletch, Becker, and Kalasi. However, she recommended several that I hadn't tried or at least not recently. Having individuals in the group that like sweet wines, she knew exactly where to send them. Personally, I tried several dry wines that I really enjoyed. If you have not tried Fat Ass recently or better yet, since the new ownership, I encourage you to drop in for a tasting.

What made our most recent experience especially uncomfortable was an employee explaining that kids aren't allowed because, according to her, adults seem to choose drinking wine over taking care of their babies. She even mentioned having to call CPS in the past. The comments felt unnecessary, judgmental, and offensive, and made us extremely uncomfortable. There are ways to communicate an adults-only policy without making assumptions or comments about parents and their ability to care for their children.

He also asked whether we were "even members," which felt unnecessarily dismissive. I have been a member for years--since before he even worked there. If only service animals are permitted, that should be stated clearly rather than advertising the location as pet-friendly. The wording is misleading, and the way the conversation was handled made the entire experience uncomfortable and disappointing.

He proceed to say TABC doesn't allow it, and we would get shut down. Where's your southern hospitality? Simple, "so sorry but you can't bring alcohol beverages in here that you purchase else where"would've be sufficent. Do not recommend, bring back the southern hospitality, or get rid of him. He doesn't even presents well as your front store guy he's turning away your business.
