I just wanted to share our experience with Matt and his company Local HVAC from Buzzards Bay, MA! We got his card from the MassSave rep that came to do our energy audit. I'm sure glad he gave it to us as he is the guy you want on your property/job. Matt show up on time and is very responsive to texts. He's a super likable guy (as is every one of his guys) that is not the norm when you are talking about local contractors (Cape Cod). On Cape Cod, just getting a contractor to your property sometimes feels like a HUGE feat! Then they usually arrive and shoot you some crazy number because if you balk at the price, there are many others that want stuff done yesterday, so they just move on. If you land one and they start the job, good luck getting them there when they say they'll be there. This is NOT the case with Matt and Local HVAC! We agreed on an install date, and Matt text me when he'd be here and arrived on time with his crew. These guys all got to work and set about getting the job going. Day 1 they did a lot of the install and as we had initially planned for 2 days, made a plan for the next day to finish up as they were losing the light. Day two and they arrived in time (again) and set about finishing everything up. Matt even took the time to fix a drain on our high efficiency heater unit as he said it wasn't right! Talk about customer service! No "it'll cost ya this much extra" just fix an issue he saw! Seriously? Who does that? No one I know takes the extra time to help you with an issue that they find. They usually just wait for you to call them down the road to bail you out! So, yeah...Matt gets my vote! Here's something else...Matt must be an animal lover because he came armed with treats for our dog Bogey...BOTH DAYS! And that's not all! a few days later, we get an anonymous couple of packages from Amazon addressed to...you guessed it...BOGEY!! Our Dog!! HAHAHA! We were wracking our brains trying to figure out who it was from. I sent my daughter a text asking her. She said it wasn't her. Hmmm....who could it be? Then I happened to text Matt and ask about a setting on our units and he asks me if Bogey got his packages! Who does that? No contractor I know, except for Matt!! So, in conclusion, if you want a neat, on-time contractor to work for you, Matt and Local HVAC is your guy! I'll recommend him to everyone one I know!!! Thanks Matt and Local HVAC!! We purchased home in July of '22. Multitude of to-dos, none more important than getting rid of our awful electric baseboard heat system. Matt and local hvac came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Mass save approved contractor (rebate eligible). Matt came down to look at the house/job for installing heat pump/mini split system. Extremely relatable and straightforward guy. Great taste in trucks. His response time, price, and just overall communication was much better than the companies mass save pushes on you. Wish I had just reached out to local hvac from the jump. He came out promptly for estimate, and wait time from estimate to job date was very very reasonable. Job was completed timely, cleanly, and professionally. His crew is a great bunch of guys. All the lines ran nicely, units mounted perfectly, house left clean as a whistle. Even walked me through the use of units and recommended different ways to maintain. Reached out to Mass Save and got several numbers . Call three companies one didn't answer two did . Both were very professional . The deciding factor for me was Matt Yarnell willingness to help me navigate Mass Save in the process for getting the HEAT loan That the state offers. Once I was in the program he even came out and installed the hot water heater before I had the loan money . His crew is professional , honest and hard-working. I'll work was done excellent . Being in the trade to myself I was very impressed with their work I highly recommend these guys . We got three bids for heat pumps and mini splits, all from local contractors (on Cape Cod) with sterling reputations. Matt from Local HVAC was the first to show up at our place and the first to submit a formal bid, all within 72 hours. We had to wait more than a month for the other bids, both of which came in SIGNIFICANTLY higher than Local HVAC's price. Once we made our decision we had to wait only three weeks for installation. Their team was in and out in two days, mounting two heat pumps and five mini splits. When the job was finished Matt also gave us help with the rebate application for Mass Save. And when he told us he'd be happy to respond to any questions and/or problems in the future, it was easy to believe him. I had a very old electric system in the house in Wareham, MA and MassSave recommended to install a minisplit. After getting 3 quotes Local HVAC was the most reasonable one for the comparable systems - way cheaper! I looked at the reviews and decided to go with them. Also, having a very responsive maintenance going forward was very important for me and they only service systems they install and very important - they are local. And I am not disappointed! They installed a minisplit in one day - Matt and the whole crew came, did work in one day, explained everything and responded right away with any questions I had. I was converting a three season room into a four season room and needed a source for heat and air conditioning. I heard about mini splits and decided that was the way to go. I contacted four contractors that installed mini splits. Each visited the property and quoted the job. Matt at Local HVAC was very knowledgeable and actually recommended a floor unit rather than the hanging unit. It was a good recommendation. It fits in perfectly with the room and furnishings. I can't say enough good about Local HVAC! My 85 year-old mother's mini-split broke in July. She had been sitting alone in the red-hot house for more than 2 weeks in the middle of a heat wave. When I learned of this, I called that morning and spoke with Matt and Brian. They appreciated the situation and squeezed in a visit the same day, giving up their lunchtime break to take care of my mom. They were courteous, caring, and careful to try conservative fixes rather than go right for the expensive options. I am 4 states away, but they called regularly to give me updates. Local HVAC was fast, reliable, responsive and friendly. Our AC died in the middle of the summer. Local HVAC was able to come out the same day we called for help; they sent the estimate the next day, with a scheduled date of work within 2 weeks for a full replacement (most other companies we called were not available for 2-3 months!!). They stayed fully committed to their stated schedule and were quick to respond when we had questions in the meantime and after the replacement - also very patient and kind with all the questions we had. I am happy to have used Local HVAC for my Heat pump install through the MASS save program. The owner of Local came to the house to quote the job the same day I reached out to him. Other companies took weeks to get a sales guy out to the house. The price Matt quoted was less than the other companies in the area. I am happy with the quality of work preformed and the equipment that was installed. My house was a large complicated project with 10 heads installed and Matt and Walter exceded my expectations. Was referred to Matt by our neighbors who had him install a minisplit last year. We had one done at another house and so were familiar with what to expect, but what really stood out about Matt was the responsiveness as well as the craftsmanship of the job. They showed up early, started the job on time and finished within the estimated time frame! Very professional, friendly and complete service. Matt and his team installed new heat pump system and hot water heater at our Dennisport, MA cottage. His quote was extremely fair and competitive and he started and completed the job exactly when he said he would. We are very happy with our new ductless minisplit AC/Heater and heat pump hot water heater installed by Matt, Brian and their team. They scheduled us quickly when our old oil hot water and heating system quit working near the holidays, and they knowledgeably provided the paperwork required to obtain rebates from the MassSave energy efficiency program.
