When our system suddenly failed just 2 days before Christmas, Marc's Sheet Metal sent service technicians out the same day to get us up and running again! We then met with their design technician to create a plan to remove the entirety of the ancient system and replace the haphazard maze of leaky pipe work. They were even able to design the system around our old coal shoot so we would have much more usable space in our basement! The attached before and after pictures speak for themselves about the quality of their workmanship. The team and contractors arrived promptly, were courteous, regularly communicated with us on their progress, and were extremely neat and clean. They also went above and beyond by bringing in some portable heaters to ensure an elderly family member who lives with us would be warm during the process. When the consumer asks for a price on their heating and cooling system, I bet most folks would mean the whole thing as I did. We have been doing business with Valcourt Heating for over 20 years. We were one of their first…read morecustomers when Chad Valcourt started his business over 20 years ago. They installed a split system air-conditioning system and gas furnace in our 1938 Cape in Newport, RI in 2016. Over the 20 years they have returned to do extensive renovations to the Air conditioning system they installed that required all the copper lines to be replaced due to defective material that was used to cover the copper lines which caused pinhole leaks after 7 years of use. We paid them an additional $8,000 to replace the lines so we could use the 7 year old system they installed. We continued to use their services for maintenance and repair not because we were loyal to the owners but because we loved their technicians who do great work. Last year when we called to schedule our spring AC Maintenance in December 2025 we were told they could not schedule us until July 2026. We explained that would prevent us from using our AC system until mid summer and we were basically told take it or leave it. We took the appointment for July and called in late May to see if they could come sooner when we were told no we contacted a back up company for Spring 2026 to get our AC up and running. Fast forward to October 2026 we called Valcourt to scheldule an appointment for Spring 2027 at first they schedule a date to clean our furnace and AC units for 2027 then they called us back and said the owner (Chad Valcourt) said he canceled our appointments for 2027 seeing we got someone else to do our furnace and AC units for 2026 season we should go back and use them for 2027 he was dropping us as a client. So after over 20 years as a devoted customer and tens of thousands of dollars invested in his company that is how he as a business owner treats his customers. He was a really nice young guy when he started his company but I guess when you get too successful you forget the customers who helped you in the beginning when you were getting established. That is very sad. I am giving this 1 Star only because I have to, it really deserves no Stars for a lack of loyalty to devoted customers who helped the owner of this company (Chad Valcourt) start his business many, many years ago.
