The plumber who arrived was extremely experienced and had installed many of these systems before. He quickly modified the drain connection without any issues and completed the installation efficiently and professionally. Two technicians arrived, and I showed them where the pump was leaking. One technician removed the leaking gasket. They asked me to pay for and order the gasket, which took a week, and asked me to pay $527 for less than one hour of time, which I paid for the first visit. They sent a new technician to install the new gasket a week later, but the new technician didn't know what to do and left in a hurry. I called the manager, who accused me of being anti-immigration, which is false since I speak some Spanish and often hire immigrants. They emphasize "Diamond Certified," which doesn't mean anything since they cannot repair anything. Absolute waste of time and money.

The details: I called Martin after a clog removal by another company went sideways (probably the topic of a no star review in the future). The first company identified where the problem was, but also caused a spill of sewage inside the house, then quoted me $5k to dig up the pipe and really fix the problem. To no one's surprise, I wasn't happy. So I called AHJ for a second opinion, and Martin answered the call. He spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, asking me detailed questions about the problem, and explaining my options (the other company did none of that). He made no guarantees, but said he thought he could solve the problem, so I asked him to have a look. He was at my house within 3 hours. The line had two objects stuck inside, causing backups. Martin worked to jet out one of the objects out, then used a camera to inspect the entire 80 ft. length of the pipe. The second object was still there, though, and it looked like digging was the only option. However, this is where the real magic happened! The second object was about 12 ft from the clean out, and it was not budging. Martin, however, thinks outside the box. He got out a large shop vac and stuffed the hose down the line. With the help of his camera he aligned the end of the hose with the obstruction and started up the vacuum. It took a while and was not easy work, but Martin eventually pulled out a 8" long, 2 lb. solid steel spring! That's no exaggeration (How that got in there I'll never know). It was Amazing! He also documented everything with his camera and thoroughly explained everything that we could see. So, I now know all about the good, and the bad, of my main sewer line, should any future problem arise. Thank you, Martin, for the exceptional service!

BeastBay almost blew my house up!…read more Another thing to note, if you are considering doing business with them, is that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to 2 other complaints they did not respond to. I had used BeastBay Plumbing once before when we had a drain problem. They were responsive, and the tech was friendly and informative. He fixed the problem, and we signed up for their loyalty program. I knew our water heater was nearing the end of its lifespan, and I called them to get a quote. Sydney came out and explained the options. I ended up going for the tankless water heater. I also got quotes to replace a kitchen faucet and install a new shower fixture. The techs who showed up were courteous, but they arrived a couple of hours later than I had expected. I anticipated the faucet and shower fixture jobs to go fairly quickly, but they took almost two hours. Then they started work on the water heater. What Sydney hadn't discussed was the need for direct power to the tankless system or a new vent. The tech wanted to open the ceiling up, but as it's a two-story house with a tile roof, that was a hard no. They ended up doing a vent through the side of the house. At first, they said it would be a two-day job, which wasn't mentioned when I booked, but after getting the side vent in, they said they'd finish that day. Here is where things go very, very badly. The next day, I went into the garage to move a car. I was overwhelmed by the smell of gas. I called BeastBay, and the phone center told me to call 911, which I did. In the meantime, I opened the garage door. I realized after I hit the button that, should anything spark, the whole place could go up. Thankfully, it didn't. The fire department came out, pinpointed that BeatBay had not tightened the gas connection to the tankless unit and turned it off. Then began a 2+ hour marathon of calls to BeastBay to get someone out immediately. Except they didn't. I had to call the office 4 times and then had 3 separate conversations with them. In the meantime, Sydney came back out to see what was up. I explained the severity of the gas leak and told him I wasn't happy he hadn't mentioned needing direct power or the need to re-vent from the previous water heater. Sydney indicated there would be a small rebate, and they would service the unit going forward free of charge. The tech showed up, apologized for not securing the gas line, tightened it up, and left. This was a week and a half ago. I heard nothing more from BeastBay. I called the office on Wednesday and asked that they memorialize what Sydney had said during our meeting in writing. The woman who answered, Sarah?, said she'd have to check with Sydney, in a tone that said she didn't believe he had offered anything. She came back and said that was correct, and she'd send it over by email. Nothing was forthcoming. I've called the office twice today, twice no one answered, and the third time it went to a general voicemail. I received a phone call 2 + weeks after the incident. The woman I spoke to apologized, but assumed everything was fine. I explained how VERY unhappy I was with both the work they did and their lack of responsiveness. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me yesterday or today. No call. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. To say I'm disappointed in the service is an understatement. This is a massive failure on every front.

We were having problems with our backyard drains backing up and not draining properly. We had another person come out a few months back, he spent over an hour snaking the drains and charged us over $300. He couldn't figure out the problem and said we would need a specialist to come out and jack hammer up the concrete to figure it out. We were stressed out thinking this would be a huge bill. We tried to just deal with it but then all the rain was causing sitting water in the drains! My mom found Local Drain Specialists on Yelp and I gave them a call to come check it out. They were able to come out within a couple days and they immediately found the outlet drain, in our front yard buried under grass that had grown to cover it. They snaked it and got a bunch of mud and muck out and it's flowing and draining perfect now. They even replaced the cover with a taller one for better visibility. We had a kitchen sink that would drain extremely slow. Romeo came exactly on time and said before starting he'd need to go under the house to check our pipes just to make sure he wouldn't do any damage if they happened to be very old or compromised in some way. After checking, he educated me on some of what he found there and proceeded to start using his machine to clear the pipes. He found the plug, but went further to make sure the pipe was clear as far as he could go with his equipment. Close to the end he had me run the water and drain the dishwasher just to double check everything was perfect. Just before he left he gave me some tips to help keep any future plumbing issues at bay. They give free estimates, which is always a bonus. The job took quite a while, as clearing the pipe was more work than expected. After looking at our pipes, Carlos the owner realized that we needed more than just a hydro jet. He knew that we had to reseal our pipes and I'm so happy that he did. Mainline sewer was overflowing in yard at our rental. A drain company tried to snake it and lost the head of their snake in the pipe, saying it was broken and needed to be replaced. Their bid was more than we could afford, and so I searched for another local company. Carlos has my endorsement as a licensed and insured plumber with experience, good crew, and integrity. He finished the job, left the yard in great shape, and got the permit signed by the inspector, all for $1500 less than the other guys. Tenants were pleased with their efficiency and work ethic. Called Romeo today for an issue at my residence in Martinez and he was extremely quick, professional and was here in 16 minutes. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately and was even honest enough to tell me that the issue could be the cities fault! I admired that and his help to have tried to save me money by calling the city but I support honest work and was still glad to pay him his asking price because of this. After about 30 minutes my sewage line was clean and I was clog free. He graciously cleaned up all the unsightly mess that came from my sewage blockage and hose off the area as if nothing happened. Sunday evening we had a huge issue with our shower overflowing, these guys came out at 7pm on a Sunday evening and cleared the line so the water drained.. fast forward to the next morning and we had the same issue occur. Had 2 exceedingly slow bathtub drains. Called a called of companies and decided to go with Local Drain Specialist mostly based upon prior reviews. And, the fact they were willing to snake the drains on 3rd floor of a condo building - other companies declined to service based upon that fact.The time from scheduling to arrival was less than 2 hours. Service: New toilet Installation…read more Marc was a kind person and professional. I think he did a fabulous job on the install. My review is more so regarding the overall experience of 2 different scenarios with the company. Me and my family have been a client for years. Service Pros was my go to company of choice and I had an excellent experience with Juan. However, my experience after was not one I would like to experience again. 1) The plumber that came prior to March on 10/14 asked if I was the homeowner (I would think after being a client for many years, this was not a question. 2) I was quoted a "what I feel like" was a very high price for install of a new toilet and replacement (faucet) in my upstairs bathroom. First quote was 1,700 and then he later said the job could be done for 1189.00. I declined to go with replacement of the faucet and said I would just get a new toilet myself for install. 3) I called to ask for a quote to install my new toilet and was told it would be 689.00 4) When Marc arrived (very kind and professional), he had a new toilet with him which leads me to believe that the 689 was inclusive of the new toilet he brought with him. 5) When I asked if the cost to install the toilet I purchased from Lowes would still be 689.00 he said yes. 6) I called the office to ask and stated the price should not be the same as it clearly included a new toilet that I did not purchase. I purchased my own from Lowes. 7) The lady said she would have the plumber call the supervisor to ask what was the cost just for labor. 8) After the work was done, I asked what was the cost for labor and I was told since I had a premium toilet the install would be $589 for installation. :-( Only 100 bucks off the initial costs which tells me that the toilet bought by service pros was only 100 or less than or they were making up numbers. I still never got the cost for just labor.
