STEPH JUDGEMENT: Nice bar, but kind of generic. We were looking for a place to get a drink after dinner, but weren't really seeing anything that grabbed our attention. Then we walked by this place and it looked nice and chill so we decided to stop in. It looked fairly new--the ambiance was clean and gleaming, but didn't seem to have much of a personality. It was a pretty standard "cool bar/restaurant", and wasn't crowded at all on the night of our visit. We grabbed some seats at the bar and I got an espresso martini (very good--loved the espresso beans garnish) and the hubby got an old-fashioned (good but a little too sweet). The bartender was friendly and the prices typical. It's more a place where you wind up than seek out, but as such, it did the job. read more

We shared the scallops which were delicious. My branzino was also an excellent portion size and tasted decent. My friend though said her steak was nothing special despite the large portion size. While the food was tasty the portions were very small. I DO NOT recommend for those with allergies. we have someone with a tree nut and gluten allergy and both the servers and kitchen staff were not able to tell us the Ingredients in multiple dishes which made ordering difficult. when our food arrived it had an allergen we told them about on it. It's been ages since my friend and I came here before a movie. But we had a marvelous time and the entire staff was incredibly kind and sweet so I still think of it fondly. We got a wide sampling of the food and enjoyed every single thing. I don't remember what we had now but I know I was impressed. The drinks were also unique and so tasty. Our bartender (KC? While on vacation, this restaurant gave me the true feeling of dining in New York. Sitting outside at a small table, taking in the energy and pace of the city -- it was everything you imagine when you think of classic NYC dining. They also had some great gluten-free pasta options, which is always a win for me with my wheat allergy. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in New York. read more

It's fine. We had to be in the area on a Sunday so we were kind of stuck as we didn't wanna have to wait a long time for a restaurant. I don't think I'd go back again, especially if I had time to make reservations somewhere else. But it was perfectly fine like it was the only place around I'd be like OK great we can go there and maybe I'd order something different and give it more of a chance. One person in our party ordered meatballs it was an appetizer, but she ate it out of her meal. They were fine. It was odd that there was a pile of hummus in the middle of it with the tomato sauce. I got the pasta carbonara. I know this dish is not exactly dietetic, but something about it was incredibly heavy. Like the sauce was really thick and it shouldn't really be thick as it was. I'm having a hard time describing it, but it tasted good once I got over that it wasn't what I was expecting. I wasn't in the best mood either. The wait staff was very nice. It was a nice breezy airy restaurant with the doors open. Not too many people were there. read more

Went for their valentine's day special- Their prices were really reasonable for 3 course meal. Ambiance was great and food was excellent. Around Soho so very commutable by subway. If you Uber here make sure your driver goes to the "244 Mulberry Street" location! The app defaults to the old Local 92 address which is "92 2nd Ave", that location is currently closed. Absolutely loved the ambiance here! Came for a late dinner over the weekend, the weather was beautiful so the door/large window panels were open - providing a lovely indoor/outdoor combination dining experience. I ordered the Pan Seared Salmon and my friend got the Pork Chops. The salmon was absolutely delicious and only would've been better if it came with a side of potatoes/ some sort of starch as opposed to a bed of veggies. The veggies were great and the salmon portion was generous, so this was still a solid meal. Service was great, a little bit slow, but everyone was very kind and the bartender was superb. Food - so yummy and they have happy hour that includes food items! I recommend the artichokes and the hummus. Artichokes comes on a bed of sauces like a yogurt one and mustard looking one, so good! And the hummus comes with warm pita bread. Service - our server was so kind and attentive. She was on top of everything, checking in with us multiple times. Ambiance - we were here at 5:45pm and it was pretty empty but I loved the music and music level because I was able to enjoy it and have a conversation. There's also a disco ball which is cool! The hostess was super nice (found out she owns the place with her boyfriend) and is very knowledgeable about the food. We ended up ordering a tapas to share (it's enough for five people), a garden salad, a meatball spaghetti, and a local 92 burger. The garden salad was really yummy and I love the dressing on it! The kids enjoyed the spaghetti. I liked the burger and the sauce that it came with. The place was small and quaint. The AC definitely helped beat the heat and all. The only thing was we went during dinner and apparently they got slammed so the food took a long time. read more

Review for Local 92 We visited Local 92 and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We ordered sliders, chakchouka, and my wife ordered the branzino filet. The waitress was nice, but all the food came out at once instead of appetizers first. When we mentioned it, they took away my wife's dish, but I asked to keep mine. * Sliders: 5/10 at best. * Chakchouka: overly sweet and spicy, clearly not using the right tomatoes. Being from the Mediterranean, I'd give it a 3/10. * Branzino filet: dry, tasteless, and basically inedible. My wife told the waitress honestly, and to her credit, the server was very understanding and offered to bring something else, but my wife had lost her appetite from the bad experience. They offered tequila shots as compensation, which we declined since we don't drink tequila. I asked if they could simply remove the dish from the bill. She said yes, but then a man who seemed like the manager (Glenes Jr.) came over. He was rude, dismissive, and made us feel like we were begging. He kept the branzino on the bill and even brought me a beer I didn't ask for, insisting we ate the dish--which we didn't. Even the waitress knew we hadn't touched it. Other notes: fries are frozen and flavorless, ambiance is decent, and the waitresses themselves were good. But the manager's attitude plus the poor food made the whole experience unacceptable. The food here isn't bad-- there were just a number of hiccups that added up to a less than stellar experience so much so that I wouldn't recommend dining in. For starters, I called them to make a reservation for a large group, which they confirmed not only verbally over the phone but by emailing me too. When we arrived, they didn't have a record of this reservation, which wouldn't have been a big deal if they could seat us anyway, but they struggled. Instead, they haphazardly brought out a bunch of backless stools for us to sit at their narrow high top table, with nowhere to put our things and little room for the food we ordered. The table didn't even fit everyone in our party. The place was not full, and yet they seemed understaffed. It was a long while before we could order food, the food came out at spotty intervals, and our server never came to check on our table. The cocktails were overly sweet and not made with fresh ingredients. These things mostly feel like the growing pains of a new restaurant, but they've been open for a year at this point and reading through their reviews they seem to consistently have a slow kitchen and unresponsive staff. Ultimately though, our food did arrive and we didn't let the cramped quarters or the fact they weren't at all ready for us to dampen our spirits or ruin our dinner. Came to Local 92 because Rubirosa was busy and the place was empty. That should've been the first red flag. The service was super slooooow. The food was just as bad. The pizza smelled like yeast. The lobster ravioli was salty and the vodka pasta was chewy. Needless to say, most of us did not finish our meals. The sever never checked up on us or even offered us more drinks. We left completely dissatisfied with the place. The only positive thing I can add to this review is that the music was good. That's the only reason it even gets 1 . read more

We are so glad we stopped in to try this place. It has fresh fabulous food and excellent friendly attentive service. Our server was amazing making sure everything was just right. We had appetizers grilled octopus and hummus pita and our mains the salmon, branzino, chicken parm and fettuccini bolongnese. A cute brunch place with personality and good drinks, but the service leaves more to be desired. We came by with a reservation for a big group and were seated on the outdoor patio. It was a hot day outside, and we were often needing to flag a server down just to ask for water refills. There's a small two-top right outside the enclosed patio area, and they'd get water/drinks refilled and our big table wouldn't be checked on even though our waters were also empty. Besides water, it also took them a long time to respond to other requests. One of us ordered a cocktail that they didn't have the alcohol for, but they assured us that they were getting the alcohol and would be back in 10 minutes. However, 30 minutes later, they told us it'd be another 10 minutes. At the end of the meal, we also needed to flag them down multiple times for take out boxes. For food, we had the hummus and bruschetta to share, and I personally ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese as a main. The food was all good, but nothing standout - definitely not enough to make up for our subpar service experience. read more

I'll be dreaming about this babaganoush for a while. It was so smoky and creamy and delicious. Really just everything that babaganoush should be! That, along with everything else that we sampled was delicious. Perfectly fried calamari, fragrant sauteed shrimp, soft and hot pillowy pita. If you are here with a group you can easily make a meal out of sharing apps. For my main I enjoyed the burrata ravioli which came with a very generous portion of perfectly al dente pasta. Pair your eats with a delicious cocktail - they have a large menu with tons of choices. My aperol spritz was incredibly refreshing. Unfortunately the service was just so-so. It took hours to eat. It took hours for us to even order and get a first round of drinks. They also weren't prepared for our large party (we had a reservation) and the seating set up was not comfortable for our group. The room is dimly lit and the bar area is beautiful. This would be a great spot to post up and enjoy a cocktail and an appetizer. However, for a large group dinner it might not be your best bet. All in all we still had fantastic eats and drinks, so despite slow service and the group set up I'd still consider this dinner a success! read more
