Hot Honey Pie Pizza
Ritvi S.

I loved the lighting and ambiance. The music was set at the perfect level of not being too loud or quiet. It's a good place to meet up with friends or on a date and properly speak and listen to the other person. Waiter forgot our focaccia so we had to ask for it twice. Pizza was mid. It was saucey which I loved but I didn't taste the honey and the crust was so thin it became soggy and fell apart.

Spot for a holiday party, pizza, salad and appetizers and they kept the drinks coming quickly, which was nice. A little tight and low ceiling being in the lower area of the building (so watch the steps down). Service was friendly and they had a number of staffers assisting with taking orders. Pizza was ok; thin crust, hand-made for the wood fired oven meant some slices were a little burnt, others were very good. Pesto pizza was good; honey pie lacked enough spice. Not too far away from Union Square so easy to hop by.

Bolognese

It was good, but nothing to write home about. Overall, we enjoyed our meal I had the bolognese and it was good but nothing amazing. I don't have any complaints, but it definitely could've used a little bit more flavor; others in our party got other pasta dishes, as well as the burger and everyone was satisfied, but no one was wowed. Service was good with absolutely zero complaints and the ambience is nice and casual for a very chill dinner. Overall, I would definitely come back to Follia, I just wouldn't run back if I was craving amazing Italian.

Solid spot on the east side. I didn't think it was all that special but it was still a good meal with good service. I got the agnolotti which was good. The ambiance is charming.

Staff are friendly and enthusiastic. Very accommodating as well. The restaurant itself is cute, there's indoor and outdoor seating which is nice in the warmer weather. Fries and eggplant caponata were good. Eggplant was REALLY REALLY good. I'm not sure why it wasn't served with bread or anything, outside of the complimentary bread they give you. So ask for more! The pizza looks great but it was painfully underwhelming. Not much flavor. A let down. Overall it was alright. I didn't find the menu to be too exciting and unfortunately had mixed feelings about the food.

Eggplant parm

Once again, a fantastic meal. Great for freezing temperatures! Love the specials: brown butter sage mushroom parpadelle- yum!

@follianyc is a classic italian restaurant located in east village. They also have a bottomless brunch deal that includes 1 entrée and unlimited brunch cocktails for 90 minutes ($32). Aside from bottomless brunch, we noticed that the prices of each of the food items were cheaper compared to many places in the city! ft: -brioche french toast: this was our favorite! it had the best fluffy texture, and the bananas on top were a great match. delicious. -eggs benedict: eggs were runny and the english muffin was toasted correctly. i loved it! -cobb salad: the first thing i noticed is that the dressing added the perfect amount of extra flavor and didn't go overboard. i loved the combination of ingredients in the salad. -crostini: came with 3: 1) burrata, olive oil and salt 2) whipped ricotta pesto 3)mascarpone and clover honey. each were slightly different from each other, and all tasted amazingly. i definitely liked the mascarpone and clover honey. it's such a simply dish yet so delicious. Follia is an intimate spot in Gramercy. I came by with a party of 6. We started off with drinks and apps - truffle polenta and crostini. Then we ordered the shaved Brussels salad, truffle fries, two pizzas - the pesto and hot honey - as well as the eggplant parm and cacio e Pepe. My favorite was the eggplant part and truffle polenta. Overall the food wasn't bad but have also had better.

New York Style Pizza

Maybe it was because we went during sunset with the limited menu, but I was not a huge fan. I tried the New York Style pizza which tasted fine but I've had better at local pizza spots.

Oysters

This is a really solid local neighborhood spot with a great happy hour! Their oysters were delicious, meatballs are great, and I absolutely love their Margherita pizza--which is really thin crust/light with great quality ingredients. The peach bread pudding is also delicious and not too sweet. Their service is always great too; nice staff and quick/efficient.

Spaghetti Pomodoro
Cyrus A.

If I were rating on food alone, I'd probably go with three stars - it's fine, nothing especially noteworthy in either direction. The burrata crostini was okay, but honestly tasted like something I could easily make at home. My spaghetti dish was nice, with al dente spaghetti and a pretty good sauce. But Follia gets an extra star because the prices are pretty darn competitive, the service was great, and the space is really nice. The menu is a good $5-10 less per entree than what I've seen at similar restaurants. Come for the nice ambiance and some people watching along 3rd Ave. Just don't expect the best meal of your life.

Hidden gem alert! If you're looking for the perfect brunch to unwind with friends, Follia in Gramercy Park is a must-visit. Just a few blocks from Union Square, this easygoing neighborhood Italian restaurant has it all--cozy indoor and outdoor seating, amazing service, and the perfect vibes for a casual hangout or group gathering. Their wood-fired pizzas are a must try, especially the Buon Giorno pizza! They had the unlimited brunch you can perfectly pair with mimosa , Bellini or Bloody Mary. And don't miss out on the bread pudding--it's so delicious! With their specialty pasta , delicious desserts and great wine or cocktail selections, we will definitely coming back again and again. We ordered : Baked Truffle eggs Buon Giorno Pizza Lemon Ricotta Pancakes Orecchiette Spaghetti Poomodoro Raspberry and peach bread pudding Mimosa Bellini Bloody Mary Follow @spinx17 for more NYC food recs!

The vibe drew us in, they had great music bumpin from the outside, it looked lively and welcoming. Let me tell you- I would have skipped dinner and just stayed here all evening if it was my choice! But alas, my husband wanted a bit more to eat. But let me tell you- their knowledge of wine is PRISTINE! I can't tell you what white wine we had but they captured our tastes perfectly. We also shared a bruschetta and it was deliciouso! I love how friendly the staff was here and how unpretentious it all was. Next time we are in NYC- we will definitely make a point to come visit Rake!

First I'll start with the wine - we ended up trying all three happy hour wines (HH until 7), which the tables favorites were the white and we ended up getting a bottle to split once HH ended (but I really enjoyed the other vino verde option). It was incredibly refreshing and paired well with the many tinned fish options. As you'd expect - it's a pretty massive selection and there is bound to be a varietal and glass for any palate. It's also attached to a wine store - so it's fine to see all the bottles when peaking over. Food-wise - this is where it was hit or miss, they have a pretty extensive menu (with a whole tinned fish section!) and we ended up ordering the buratta on focaccia (buratta was excellent, focaccia was too dense for my tastes), mushroom truffle crostini (way too salty), the flatbread with sliced kielbasa (was fine), halloume (table favorite ), tinned sardines in lemon oil (delicious), tinned smoked trout (my favorite). Overall the four of us were very full at the end of the meal! The space itself felt very relaxing and rustic, and definitely got busier as the night went on (we got there at 6:50 and left around 9). The service was also fast and attentive - even for the amount of tables they were serving. Overall - I'd definitely go back again, and maybe just focus on the wine and another tinned fish selection!

The hwe crudo was refreshing and delicious, and the salad was also a standout -- bright, crisp, and really well-balanced. But the best thing we had by far was the dak mandu, the crab/chicken dumplings. Those alone are worth coming back for. The ssam lettuce wraps were good, though they read a little more like Jewish brisket with a spicy bean sauce than what I expected from a Korean lettuce wrap. Still tasty, just a different vibe. Honestly, this would've been a 5-star meal if I didn't leave with three mosquito bites. Great food, great service, great wine -- just maybe bring bug spray.

The bar is very scenic so you will definitely feel like you are getting the full dining experience. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Make reservations for peak dining times in the evenings and on weekends. Many people walked in without reservations and were seated right away on Saturday evenings. Highly recommend trying their original cocktails ($18). We tried the flower child and the harvest moon. Both were tasty. I would get harvest moon again and again. Perfect balance of Tart, sweet refreshing and strong. Menu items change seasonally so it's delightful to try something new every time you visit. $21 potato croquettes were highly disappointing. Everyone recommended them highly, but I could not understand why. For such price, three tiny balls of fried potato should've been mind blowing, but they were underwhelming and forgettable at best. Skip. $24 giant ricotta stuffed raviolo was delightful. Such soothing comfort food. If I could eat just this, I would be happy. $26 fresh crudo was refreshing and light. Delicious cold broth/juice soup in which it was served. $32 Bronzino with mussels in a broth was superb. Light, crispy, and delicate. Would eat this dish for dinner Any night of the day. Balanced flavor profile. Could suit anyone who is picky about their food. $30 lamb neck was a solid dish. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and delicate and flavorful on the inside. Wish the portion was a bit bigger, especially the sides. $38 duck confit was highly advertised, however, it was underwhelming and the least stand out dish. It was solid, but nothing that I would order again or recommend. The duck was on the dry side. Definitely not enough sauce. The cabbage and the cabbage salad were good. Crispy and refreshing. The duck was not the star of this dish. $13 chocolate mousse with strawberry coulis was surprisingly delightful. So light and balanced. Not sweet, but just right to finish a meal. I could eat this dessert every day after every single meal. So simple, yet it hit the spot. Service is very fast and efficient. One of our readers was superb and provided stellar recommendations. Another waiter (young and inexperienced) was very shy and his energy felt very stifling.

When I was there on Tuesday, May 19th from 8-10 PM, there was exactly ONE bartender working the entire place -- both inside and outside -- and she was unbelievably inattentive. My date and I sat at the bar for TWENTY MINUTES before she even acknowledged us or asked if we wanted drinks. I literally had to call out "Excuse me" just to order a $25 quarter-filled glass of wine. Embarrassing all around. And when we were ready to leave and wanted the check, the female bartender working on Tuesday May 19th from 8-10 PM was busy standing in the corner chatting with someone instead of helping customers. I haven't seen someone move this slowly or care this little since the DMV. TO MANAGEMENT - this was absolutely horrible, embarrassing, and unprofessional service. Clean up your act, and hire a second or even a third bartender.
