fried chicken and mashed potatoes
Saida S.

Probably one of the safest restaurant during these weird times. They have plexiglass between the tables. Our waitress was very friendly & sweet. They have a nice selection of coktails & omg their mai tai is to die for. The menu is nice: not too limited but not too extensive either just perfect. Had the crab cake as appetizer super fragrant & love the fresh salsa it was served with. However their fried chicken is such a show stopper. Their prices are fair, food is delicious. Order from them if you are able.

I've been to local 75 a few times and it is my fav place on monkland to get a simple but tasty dinner and a drink or two. They are located on a pleasantly lively part of monkland ave and there's outdoor seating in summer. Rain, snow or shine, there are always people in there having lively conversations - so if you are in the neighborhood, this might be the perfect spot to shake off the winter blues :) To me local 75 is the perfect example of what comfort food next door should be: no fuss, tasty food, friendly service and a lively cozy vibe all in a small, tastefully decorated restaurant hidden in your corner of the city, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Caesar Salad Bites - I had already eaten one before I took the photo!
Rosie B.

TLDR: Cute small bistro/pub with a great 5 à 7 Firstly, my search for a place that serves Dublin Pub Cider is finally over! Local 75 serves the delicious fruity cider and it made my evening. We were informed that their 5 à 7 special is that if you order one of their drinks or beers you get one amuse bouche for free. The waitress highly recommended the buffalo style roasted cauliflower, so I followed her suggestion and also got the caesar salad bites. My 5 caesar salad bites arrived first, and it was crunchy and refreshing. Small lettuce leaf boats with a dollop of caesar sauce, parmesan shavings, and 1 crunchy crouton. Definitely, a fun mouthful to have. The winner was definitely the cauliflower. If you think it is healthy, it isn't as there is a lot of oil despite being roasted. The generous portion of cauliflower is coated with an equally generous amount of buffalo sauce. The tabasco really came through, and I savoured every morsel. As I looked around, their larger dishes looked and smelled equally as delicious. The server was very sweet, and I would have to say also patient with us even after we stayed a little longer after paying for our receipts. To be fair I was still nursing my sweet cider, but they were very busy and clearly needed the table. It get's very busy oddly after the 5 à 7 even on a Wednesday! I definitely will be coming back as it's a great place in Monkland village to grab a delicious cider and tapas style pub food with friends or even a date.

Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower
Phuong T.

Came here on a Saturday evening with a friend. It looked cosy and we wanted to check it out since it was new and right there in Monkland Village. ATMOSPHERE: A laid-back, chill place. Good atmosphere - no super loud techno/crappy music. A plus right there lol. DRINKS: Drinks were good. I enjoyed the Sangria. They have a good selection of drinks and cocktail. Beer list is a bit limited. FOOD: We shared a few snacks (didn't have a full meal here - though I found the prices on the high side on the menu). I enjoyed the taste of the Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower- though the sauce was way too thin/runny. And the Cauliflower could have been crispier. The crab cake was ok - far from the best I've ever had, but far from the worse. The Avocado bocconcini snack was good - but again, nothing special. OVERALL: It's a cute place with a chill vibe if you're looking to grab a drink in a cool place in Monkland Village. I wouldn't necessary go out of my way to come here.

Duck drummers
Camille R.

Came here with a group of friends - 6 in total. I ordered the meatless burger, the duck drummers and the chicken wings. The meatless burger was very good very tasty and well done. I enjoyed it very much. The duck drummers were good the sauce was very sweet. The chicken wings were just normal chicken wings - a bit dissapointed as the waitress said they were like general tao but they tasted nothing like that. Drinks were good my friends had the yolo and the Moscow mule. The reason for the two stars is the waitress dropped part of the drink (ginger beer from the Moscow mule) on one of my friends and although she did apologize she didn't offer any sort of compensation. Instead she just replied: " at least it wasn't the alcohol ". Not very impressive in my books. They do have a lovely terrasse - but so so many other restaurants on that street so I would try someplace else before coming back here due to lack of good service.

Table at the front door. Don't sit there if it's cold out, you'll freeze every time someone comes in!

This place has only been open for 2 months. So we walked in on a Saturday shortly before 5 pm. Grabbed a table (which was a good thing since there are only about 8 tables) near the door. Bad move - it's freezing outside and every time that door opened I wanted to put my coat, scarf and mitts back on. We said hello to the waitress, she said to sit anywhere. We sat. Then we waited. And waited. Oh, how we waited. Finally the bartender noticed that we were still there on our own. He brought over some menus. Finally the very nice young girl in a white dress blouse and odd Lululemon yoga pants ( with long lacy cutouts on the legs....strange choice of uniform) came over and told us it was happy hour so any drink we bought came with a free appetizer (choice of 4 different appetizers). We said that was great and we would be staying for supper as well as beer and appetizers. Ordered our beer and free appetizers. That's when another waitress started her shift. The new waitress came to tell us that the appetizers were free during happy hour which only happened during the week, Monday through Friday. She asked us, "The waitress told you they would be free?" We said yes, she absolutely did. This one said we'd have to pay for them. Now, you could cause a stink and argue but we aren't those people so we said we'd still take the appetizers at a cost. The appetizers were brought to us. This new waitress gave us our next head-scratcher....... "Did the other waitress tell you that you can only order your food after 5:30 pm? Before then, the kitchen is busy doing prep and they only start to cook at 5:30 pm." Now, I checked the website before coming, they didn't mention that. Neither did the first waitress. Again......we could have been cranky but we decided to hang out and enjoy so we said we would wait. We ordered 2 more beers and the food came. We started with buffalo cauliflower (great to go with beer but would have been so much better with a blue cheese dip) and honey jerk wings (3 very small wings, good sauce). Both appetizers are $5.00. We never saw the first waitress again. It was probably the end of her shift. Or maybe she had a yoga class. Supper came......I had the exact shrimp (5 pieces) on pasta with Parm cream sauce dish that you will find at every single restaurant. Nothing stood out about this dish other than it needed sauce to actually call it a cream sauce. There was no sauce in the bowl whatsoever - trust me, I checked. I moved every noodle, hoping to find a little sauce. There was none to be found. He had the Guinness braised lamb shank with lima beans and creamy polenta (totally passable). We actually enjoyed the appetizers more than the main dishes - they weren't very creative but they came well seasoned. The second waitress was very nice, we have no complaints with her at all, other than someone needs to tell her NOT to call people "guys". I'm not a guy. I'm a 50 year old woman who is spending great money and tipping 20%. Don't call me "guy" or "dude", please. Supper came to $100 with tax. So, would we go back? Sure, for beer at happy hour with appetizers but not for supper. I'm NOT a fan of restaurants on Monkland and this one didn't change my mind but if you look at it as a pretty bar to hit while on your way home for a beer, you'll be very happy. Very attentive bar service is a huge plus as they have a lot of seats along the bar.

As soon as I walked in the place it felt like home, had the feeling of San Francisco pub I used to drink at all the time. The food was amazing and the best part were the bartenders, Bully and Mike have around 50 years of experience mixing drinks. Is great to see 2 local boys work that hard to make their dream come true. This place is a GEM.

At $29 for a Reuben sandwich, I was disappointed to get frozen French fries. Has a well stocked bar. But tight tables an OK food.

Working in Montreal for the week and while hunting around for dinner I did my usual Yelp'ing! I…read morediscovered Pub BreWskey near my hotel so I decided to check it out! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit. Same goes for the specials on the chalkboard! Thank you for reading and supporting local businesses.

Very large spot with outdoor seating. Large selection of beers and their Poutine was sooo good!…read more I would come back just for the Radler Orange & Calamansi. Located right in Old Montreal, a few blocks away of the Basilica, the waterfront, and the La Grande Roue de Montreal.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.

Horrible service. They didn't let 3 of my peers with REAL ID in the club. And when my friend…read moreconfronted them, the next time she came in they told her she was "the bitch with the attitude". Tremendously rude bouncers. Don't recommend.
