Pretty damn good. Came through here on a Saturday afternoon after exploring Borough Market, and was pleasantly surprised with the food here. We ordered 2 things the Charcuterie Plate and the Ribeye with Foie gras. The Charcuterie Plate : Quality meats. Fresh cut proscuitto, and really good salami. Cheese was really good as well. Get this if you need a snack its not the largest portion for the price. Ribeye w Foie Gras: Man this thing was tasty. Cooked just right and the foie gras on top of it just took it to the next level. It wasnt the biggest cut, but then again we are at a tapas spot, so if you're wanting a bigger portion they do have bigger steak on the menu to be shared. We had: Iberico Ham - stupidly good, possibly the best ever to pass my lips White Anchovies - lemon, onion, a pico de gallo, superb Patatas Bravas Steak with foie - hush your mouth, that was pure sin Pork cheeks Encrusted lamb chops on the bone that melted in the mouth Grilled Octopus Multiple glasses of a luscious Tempranillo wine that paired so well And the service? Impeccable from young English lasses that were more than just good servers. Ours new her wines quite well, was able to explain any questions about the preparation and more. And selections arrived at the table quickly with little delay, the result an entire evening sort of melting into one great experience. There is a LOT of good competition in the hood, particularly with the epic Borough Market a few doors down so if you're going to have a restaurant you'd better bring your A game. Absolutely a m a z i n g! The food standard here is so great, I wish I could give it a 6th star. I've tried many, so many Spanish Restaurants in town, practically all of them and not a single reaches the flavours and quality of Spanish cuisine like this one. I want to eat all my meals here when I'm hungry. They have a great selection of Tapas on the menu, including two of my favourite, Tortilla and Manchego. There is also a good variety of meat dishes and I specially recommend the Secreto Iberico. Basically, you will enjoy anything you order from the menu, but don't hesitate asking the staff for any suggestions as they are super friendly and welcoming. The girls are very kind and they are always smiling. It is true that the prices are a bit high, but it is worth paying for the quality of food and the service you get here. This place makes me feel nostalgic about those Barcelona nights, but experiencing them in my home town is even a bigger pleasure. read more

I may have found my new favorite place when it comes to Spanish restaurants in London. I have held José at Bermondsey Street as the number one and they are still excellent (although I noticed that they have gone for worse wine there nowadays). Lobos is located under the railway arches by Borough Market and it is a very nice space split over 2 floors. The focus is Spanish tapas and meat - two of my favorite things. We sampled several different tapas and the iberico pork selection. The tapas were very good and generous sized dishes (more like mid-sized dishes than tapas) but the Iberico pork selection was just amazing. The pork was perfectly prepared and while I was really stuffed I just wanted more. The wine selection was also interesting, especially a lot of nice affordable Spanish white wines and some decent cavas. The wine glasses are a bit odd and would perhaps not be my first choice for glasses but they were still decent. The staff were also very friendly, made sure to pay attention so never any long waits. Price level is pretty decent as well, I would not say it is cheap but for the quality it is very good value for money so I will be back here. read more

Really great food and friendly staff. We had an assortment of seafood, croquettes, mushrooms, and salad, then topped everything off with mouthwatering desserts. All the dishes were fresh and flavourful. The menu had a reasonable and balanced variety to choose from as well. Staff were very friendly. They were flexible in finding us a table without a reservation and patient as we ordered one additional main after finishing our desserts. Ambience was cosy and intimate. One downside was that the noise level at times got quite high, which meant we needed to shout a little to be able to hear each other. Would love to return and try all the other dishes! read more

The service is amazing and everyone is really nice and nice to look at....haha Anyway the food was okay it was good but it was pricey my favorite thing were the croquetas. So I recommend those. When half an hour was up and we still waited with our drinks at the bar he brought a great starter plate of serano Ham to apologise. Time for yet more Spanish tapas? Hell yeah. On another London Bridge session, we hunted out this Spanish Gem next to Borough Market. Down a dark tunneled alley way off the main road, you happen on this two floor tapas joint where it can be a tight squeeze. There is always a waiting list at peak times, so its best to get in as early as you can. As is the tapas style, the menu is full of little dishes to share. All your traditional favourites appear with a few creative dishes to shake things up. Having waited for 15 minutes (we were lucky), we were sat at stools just opposite the bar, in a narrow area. We watched as more hungry faces poured into the establishment, eyeing up our tables to see if we were at bill stage. As this is a quick turnaround spot, service was spot on. You don't really feel rushed as you clearly get what this place is about. It's in and out. If you are not seated in the right area, the lack of comfort contributes to you not sticking around either. We did not check out upstairs, but I suspect the seating is more comfortable up there. We were on the raised ground floor in the very "bar" area. We mixed our selections up with padron peppers (no spicy ones unfortunately - sad face), pan con tomato (a popular Catalonian dish), croquetas (filled with ham, chorizo and smoked bacon), mixed mushrooms with tuffle oil and a fried egg, potato bravas and one of my favourites, chorizo and morcilla (similar to black pudding) with fried quail eggs and piquillo peppers. All of the dishes perfectly complimented each other and made for a great sharing experience. Next time I go (which will be soon), I have to try the pork cheeks, as well as ribeye and foie gras. I am sure it is no surprise, at least to the people who have been reading my reviews, that I like Spanish cuisine. Spanish tapas to be exact. Not only do I like the bite size Spanish dishes due to them being a great companion with wine, but also due to the great meats coming from the region. Pork, beef, duck, you name it. I love them all, but especially I love a good Iberico ham. During our last trip to London, we visited Lobos. It was perhaps the best pork-experience of the year and we had some nice wines as well. Lobos is located next to Borough Market under the London railway. I love it how in London the old railway arches are utilized for shops and restaurants. The spaces are cozy and I don't really mind the noise of the trains. It is a part of the experience. Lobos is built on two floors and the narrow space is used efficiently. It has a meat market feel, but nothing too trendy. Lobos has just the right kind of simple charm. We were seated upstairs in a comfortable two-seater. The first thing I noticed, was that the service was very friendly. The second that the wine list was long and reasonably priced. We started of with some Mon Marcel Cava Rosado and Torre del Cava Reserva 2010 (6.25£ per glass each), both nice and fresh aperitifs. The rosado was the way I like it: Catalonian style with deep red color and full taste, not the light style of cava often made for the export market. To accompany the starters, croquetas, migas and arroz con costra; I had a glass of white Rioja and my date an unoaked 100% Xarel.lo (both around 6£ per glass). And as companion to our main, the amazing Iberico pork selection, I chose an Albarino (7£ per glass). That was definitely the best wine I had all night. All the wines were good value for money. Now back to that pork platter. I think this is my all time favorite pork-dish in the whole of London. Yes, even better than the Secreto Iberico at Jose's. There were three different types of cuts: fillet, Secreto and Presa. All came wonderfully medium rare. Now I like my meat nice and red, but I was a bit surprised that we were not asked at all how we would like it served. I agree, "almost mooing" is the best, but I also know that is not how everybody wishes their meat. Or at least, perhaps warn that the meat will come out very pink. They also had some other interesting mains: leg of lamb, pork cheeks and ribeye with foie gras. This is definitely the place for a carnivore. All in all, Lobos is a wonderful addition to the London tapas-scene. A casual place with great food, wine and laughter. The wine list gives a good snapshot of what Catalonia has to offer and prices by glass and by bottle are reasonable. I would love to come here with a party of four to six people and take a tour around the wine list. The pork, well, I already said it, is divine. Lobos is not to be missed if you are in London. read more

While the food is great, good atmosphere from music and cozy setting, it was all put into a negative light by the staff: The manager was exceptionally rude and was rushing us to leave the table we'd pre-booked just 15 minutes after we were seated. We got moved less than hour after arriving before we had ordered food (because one of our party had arrived late). It seems they are more interested in turn over of tables than providing a place for people to catch up. The waitresses are not all fluent in English, so it made communicating with them a bit of a challenge, but they were at least all friendly. read more

The cooking of the porks are nothing short of class, the Spanish wine selection is also excellent with a fine range of sherry and cava.
