Excellent find in SoHo, London. The food was authentic and if you didn't know it you could be in Barcelona. if you are in the area try it you won't be regretting it. Great food and service. Highly recommend it.

I can get enough Spanish food. Flavours were authentic and extremely good. I went without a booking and they prepared a table for us even though it was packed. There were some Italian and Spanish waiters. Food arrived super quickly. I'm going back for sure

Overview: The atmosphere is like most of the tapas bar, nothing much special. We sat by the bar, so can't say if it is more intimate or romantic if you sit inside. Food is served in a way I like: one after another, we never had two plates on our table, but didn't wait for long for the next dish. I love everything we ordered, and more details below. So it is good if you want something casual to have, and it is not too pricy. Gambas: the oil was still boiling when it was brought to the table. It is a very common dish in a tapas bar, but it tasted better than average. You can tell the prawn is fresh, and the hot oil kept its original flavour together with the flavour of the spices. Pulpo: again, very common dish, but better than average. Cordero: it is ok, nothing too special about it, but tasty. Carrillera: I love it so much! I think it is slow cooked, and it is so tender! You could feel it is melting in your mouth! The flavour of the spices was not strong and it went very well with the meat. It came with mash sweet potatoes, which is creamy and soft. Love it so much! Presa: this is amazing! I am not a pork lover myself, but it is cooked in a so much tender way, and I have to say I love it! It is not far at all, but when you bite it, it is so juicy and creamy. I am not a fan of green peppers, but the flavour of the green pepper mixed very well with the pork. Definitely recommended!

I loved the atmosphere of this place. It really felt like you were in a busy urban, vibing restaurant, just the kind of atmosphere I love the most. I hate dead beat places with no energy. When the actual dishes arrived, you can imagine, we were pretty excited. There was an array of spicy dishes of offer, meat, fish and something for veggies too. My brother ordered a chicken dish but the chicken was a little underdone, which was disappointing. Actually, overall, the food was slightly under par. Not to say it's awful, just didn't live up to the standards / expectations from what we had felt from sitting in the restaurant. This isn't the worst place in the world but I've had much better tapas meals elsewhere in London...

I'm sorry I don't understand the hype…read more We waited 15min in the rain to be seated only to be given a 1.5hour dinning time. Hey initially brought a drinks menu to us when we are waiting in the queue but they didn't come to take our order until we got our table so I don't see the point. We ordered a wine and a beer. Wine tasted worse than most wine we have in other restaurants and the beer is with a thick foam and small glass.. The food is alright but with the service and portion, I didn't think we get our money's worth.

I will say that the app - City Mapper - is worth installing on your phone. Oh, but when you're travelling out of the US, you don't want to pay the high roaming charges. Then I say, go to the "airalo" website and see if what they offer might meet your needs, and if it does, install it too. Most newer phones allow you to install electronic SIMs. If you follow the instructions very carefully, you can set your phone up to use this second line for local data access and that will allow City Mapper to run for you while you roam around. I know that I'm sounding like a commercial but that's how much I liked using the app. While I didn't always know which direction I was facing, by watching the app as I moved, I could see if I was heading toward or away from my target. Okay, back to Jose. We walked by this place several times, both during the day and at night. They always had guests, especially at night when the crowd seemed to spill out of the restaurant to the outside tables and surrounding area. People looked happy as they indulged in their food and wine. We stopped once and read the menu. It's quite small and written on a chalkboard. It looks like every now and then, they erase something and write something else up. Having been to Barcelona, we weren't particularly impressed with the menu and didn't plan on dining there. Until I read the reviews. And looked at their website and learned about Jose Pizzaro, chef, owner of six restaurants in London and one in Abu Dhabi, author of six cookbooks, a regular on BBC cooking shows AND that the Tapas Bar Jose is mentioned as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide. Service was wonderful. It was cool watching Chef prepare our food. The Pan con Tomate was so simple and yet so delicious. A slice of bread, toasted, rubbed with garlic, rubbed roughly with a ripe tomato, slightly salted and drizzled with olive oil. I could eat that every single day and LOSE WEIGHT. The Bermondsey Bomba was like a giant Porto Bakery (forgive me Jose) Potato Ball with more meat in a spicy sauce placed on top of a bed of aioli with a dollop of seasoned tomato paste on top. I could eat these every single day and GAIN WEIGHT. The Boquerones were heavenly. The Clams with Garlic and Parsley, devine. And the Patatas Bravas...come on man, they're just potatoes! Crispy on the outside, soft and warming on the inside. Once again, the aioli and seasoned tomato paste just brings it all together. Service was warm and friendly. They were kind enough to let us order in rounds so we could gauge how much to order. Honestly, we had five dishes and were stuffed. Pictures to follow.

Thank you, Yelp app and fellow Yelpers for directing me to this little tapas restaurant on…read moreEversholt Street. It's a little unassuming family run restaurant but with serious intent from the kitchen. I was offered a table in the main dining room or the garden when I walked in - as we are in the middle of 'Wimbledon week showers', I chose to dine indoors. The menu was written in impressively authentic sounding terms but closer inspection revealed some fusion going on - lemongrass, tumeric and enoki mushrooms being amongst the ingredients on show. I'm up for a bit of fusion as long as it doesn't end in con-fusion! Having confirmed that I was hungry, the helpful waiter suggested getting 3 dishes. I couldn't help myself and went for the fusion sounding dishes. Panceta con cidra was pork belly, rolled and marinated with garlic, black pepper and dill, braised in Asturian cider. I zoom in pork belly whenever I see it and this version has been slowly cooked to melting tenderness with the dill coming through strongly - it didn't need the wedge of lemon which came with it and I enjoyed it as it arrived. Pollo a la plancha del Parador were a pair of chicken thighs marinated in lemon grass, turmeric, garlic & coriander and cooked on the plancha (grill). I prefer dark meat as it remains moist and the oriental kick wasn't too overwhelming. When the waiter said the Higadillos Salteados (chicken livers with Iberico Jamon, enoki mushrooms, shallots, black pepper and butter) would be served pink inside, I smiled - nice to see a restaurant willing to serve food as it should be cooked and not pander to squeamish guests. These were a delight and to get some Iberico ham from acorn-fed pigs was a bonus. This is tapas of the highest order, given a little twist. A little Yelp gem which deserves its high star rating.

El Parador specialises in scallops, Halibut, and crab... although they were many others still left to be tried. The interior Decor, to me seemed rather french with little white table clothes and a smart yet gentle ambience. The wine list was impressive to say the least, with over 30 bottles of wine, in the price range of £13-30, with over 15 available by glass. The lunchtime menu has a special offer of 3 tapas for the price of two.

This was probably my favorite restaurant while visiting. My absolute favorite tapa was the tuna tartar tostadas. We also got the lamb, albondigas, and sliders. We didn't leave a crumb! My sister and her husband also ordered the hummus tostadas, roasted cauliflower, and grilled carrots. She's not the biggest tapas fan so I was so glad she enjoyed the food as well. We got a pitcher of red sangria to add to the experience and ended dinner with the Pan de Elote, which was quite the crowd pleaser. The restaurant is definitely in the "it" part of the city, lots of foot traffic and so many things going on around the place. The setup is real cool too. We sat at the bar, which is right in front of the kitchen so you get to watch as the cooks prepare the dishes. The service was real fast too. It is a bit on the pricey side, but if you don't mind splurging a bit, it's definitely worth trying!
